Perez set to be the President of the Super League ?
Especially away fans.So what we would be leaving the PL? What a farce. Think the club would lose a lot of fans if this goes through.
Has the game died?
Simon Stone on radio 5 saying that there was no announcement from the clubs of a statement at 9.30 and that nobody from those clubs willing to say anything about the plans.
Bullshit. People will watch which ever teams are the best. Thats not Tottenham or Arsenal. No one cares much about this current incarnation of Barcelona, Red Bull Liepzig are pretty much as attractive as them at the moment. What's breach of contract here ?
The lower contract is exactly the problem. You ban these clubs and you can kiss bye forever to CL. No one is watching CL without these clubs
The UEFA announced that all participated clubs will be banned from domestic and European competitions :

If you think this is just a play from them to scare clubs out of it, I mean at the end it's really your own assumption and interpretation of such announcement and nothing more.
Already answered that question multiple times. They just can't ban and it won't stand in the court.
You made the below point and I would call this as an assumption.
As previously announced by FIFA and the six Confederations, the clubs concerned will be banned from playing in any other competition at domestic, European or world level, and their players could be denied the opportunity to represent their national teams.
Another hour then? Damn.
Its almost as if some cnut decided to write for athletic. My money on that cnut that keeps posting pictures in his op.
Might be same fax machine prevented DeGea from Real MadridThe 6 prem clubs scrambling to get their announcement right. Already missed their own deadline.
Hundreds of millions of fans might disagreeBullshit. People will watch which ever teams are the best. Thats not Tottenham or Arsenal. No one cares much about this current incarnation of Barcelona, Red Bull Liepzig are pretty much as attractive as them at the moment.
2024What year is this “super league” rumoured to start?
Pretty ominous that none of the 12 clubs responded to the invitation to this evenings emergency meeting between the clubs.
The paywall for one. Just give me ads like every other website so I can block them.Nothing wrong with the Athletic; a lot of great people work there.
I very much doubt it’s actually gonna happen, not yet anyway. I’d be all for the clubs who signed up being heavily punished.Theyll get as many top English sides in as they can. Leciester etc will be added down the line imo.
Was this confirmed? If so, yes it does seem a bit off.
Where did you get that link from ? Thought FIFA was in favor?Yeah, I'm assuming based on what UEFA did say in their own announcement. You're assuming based on your own interpretation of the events.
Till something arises that says this point won't happen, people should be concerned that this is what's going to happen if this goes on:
Sickening.Look at Boris Johnson saying the easy and popular thing.
On what grounds? Business is business. This is a negotiation tactic. Can’t just bend over to UEFA.I very much doubt it’s actually gonna happen, not yet anyway. I’d be all for the clubs who signed up being heavily punished.
Was this confirmed? If so, yes it does seem a bit off.
Exactly. People just fail to understand the last point. It's a complete scare crow tacticThe Super League clubs couldn't care less about being banned from European Competition. The Super League would replace those competitions.
The threat to expel them from domestic leagues is completely empty. You think La Liga would ever want to expel Barcelona and Real Madrid? Not only would it be financial suicide but it would take about five minutes for both those clubs plus every advertising and television sponsor to immediately file suit.
What do the reddit ITKs say about this? @Acquire Me ?
No I don't want us punished.I very much doubt it’s actually gonna happen, not yet anyway. I’d be all for the clubs who signed up being heavily punished.
Boris Johnson has strong ties to grassroots sport, like that time he bulldozed a ten year old kid playing rugby.
