The longer we stay in it, the more idiotic & isolated we will be. Woodward is a buffoon & they’ve seriously miscalculated the backlash. Own up the mistake & get out of our club.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are the big ringleaders in this.

We'll be the last to pull out.

We'll be left with the disgrace.
Yeah, our club is stained as long as these greedy bastards are owners. I do feel ashamed, even if I realise it's not directly my fault or anything.

I won't say this is over till ourselves, Real, Barca, Juventus or Liverpool rule themselves out. Any of those back in the Champions League and this competition will lack any credibility and the CL line-up looks better and better

Tin hat territory: Chelsea and City only signed up so that they could then get the good publicity for backing out.

Nah. I posted this before but imagine the good publicity they (and these two in particular) would have got if they had said no from the beginning. I applaud them for doing the right thing now but let's not forget they (or rather their executives) were part of this. Still, between the scenes outside Stamford Bridge right now, Perez' interview yesterday and Perez' much anticipated interview later today, I feel this was all worth it. Great entertainment.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Glazers/Woodward wont mind City and Chelsea (and whoever else) pulling out because they'll see it as them getting a bigger share of the total money.

Simply can't see how it goes ahead when teams are ALREADY pulling out. The whole thing is an absolute shambles and will hopefully come crashing down because of this.

Well, this is going to die as quickly as it started haha

Woodward sacked by the end of the season/taking the brunt for this terrible decision?

I see your point, but surely it is also important a Super League includes the best teams? With Bayern and PSG already missing from the project, losing two of the strongest English teams will be a blow.
You'd think so, but I could see them carrying on with it somehow.

It'll probably end up being United, Madrid, Juve and Barca going round the world multiple times per year charging for friendlies at the expense of the league and cup competitions, and calling it the "Super Team World Tour" or something.

By the way, the football agents were in support of the Super League. Let's see what they come out with as this (hopefully) falls apart:

The current system isn’t sustainable, change is inevitable, but this isn’t it.

How much weirder can all of this get? This needs a thorough post-mortem analysis, because there have to be shady deals at play in this rushed announcement followed by an almost immediate collapse.

The big takeaway from all of this is this feeling of pride that all football fans want the same thing: Eligibility through success on the pitch, not a god given right to compete regardless of domestic performance.

Dominos are falling, 4 are now gone.

I wonder how long our fecking parasites will wait.

Seems like it's all falling apart, unfortunately our name will be tarnished forever now.

Great protest by Chelsea fans. Leading by example. Hang in there lads. Lets forget our differences and stand together.

We aren’t pulling out we’re in too deep

The blame will be on our shoulders for all this and rightly so. One could hope that this could finally see the glazers fecking off though.

All this was 100% a power play to negotiate with UEFA so Chelsea and co pulling out is a bit stupid on their part. UEFA would have bent over for them after another week or so

I wonder if they genuinely thought the fans of the 12 clubs would be on board for it? I'm sure they predicted everyone else would rage about it but perhaps the reaction of the club's own fans surprised them

It's quite bizarre to see people react so positively to this latest Chelsea nonsense and take every bit of news about this literally, getting emotional and not thinking for two seconds.

This Super League was extremely unlikely to happen, at least in the coming two years. Which was blatantly obvious given how amateurish the news was brought into the world, how unprepared everyone involved is at the moment, other than a cheap website there was no infrastructure in place at all. Obviously a club like Chelsea knows this so they can now act like they're taking the moral highground after joining the plan first to put pressure on UEFA - they're a scummy club who owe their success to the ridiculous spending of a shady Russian billionaire. And distgustingly people on here are celebrating this and lapping it up like a bunch of sheep.

The whole Super League is more of a threat and a negotiation position than anything by the big clubs involved. Throw out a generic press release and an amateurish website in the week UEFA is introducing their new CL set-up, create a meda shit storm.

In the meanwhile the UEFA is now being forced to create a lot more funds for the new CL, there's talks of finding investment parters to pump 6-7 billion into the new Champions League.

https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2...-2bn-deal-with-centricus-to-halt-super-league

"UEFA is in discussions with Centricus Asset Management over a 6 billion-euro ($7.2 billion) financing package to overhaul its flagship soccer tournament and stop plans for a new breakaway Super League, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Switzerland-based sporting body is working with Centricus on a plan to fund a new-look UEFA Champions League tournament, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing confidential information."
I wouldn't be surprised if these clubs get a big share of the new pie from UEFA after all of this. After all, that's what they were looking to get. Still, the fact that they elected board officials and sorted out a financial package from JP Morgan meant that they were serious about this. This wasn't just a hollow threat else JP Morgan wouldn't have been announced as the financiers.

This might sound mad but its bad in the long run that they are pulling out this easy.

If legislation isn't brought in Glazers FSG and co will regroup and do this again in a few years.

The power must be taken from them.

I can't believe Chelsea and City have the moral high ground against United even if it's only one inch above from the bottom. The Glazers destroyed our performances on the pitch and have now done the same to the image of the club off it. It's heartbreaking and I hope one day they face some kind of consequence.
