Sorry to spoil the party but lot of them won't happen in reality.

No one is kicking them out from domestic leagues as they have repeatedly said they want to stay.
The narrative that esl is boring is laughable when you have the same 14 teams competing in EPL every year. If that's not boring, this won't be either.
The epl is still going to be there but the revenue would be split. Means, you won't get this much money from the broadcasters. It won't be the cash cow that it's now.
It’s not laughable when on one hand you get a load of rich prima donnas Who don’t have to commit 100% in a league you can’t be relegated from or be successful to play in and on the other hand you get players who actually need to play to win in a competitive league with consequences of failing or rewards for achieving. I know which I’d rather watch.

Won't have any effect on Joel Glazer and really just allows more advertising space. Probably glad to see fans banners gone.

I still don't understand how spurs are deemed worthy of being in this super league, they haven't won a single trophy for god knows how long and have barely been in the champions league that much either. Same could be said for arsenal to an extent

Audi Cup carries a lot of weight.

Someone has to finish 12th - or 15th
The current format is the founders and qualifying teams but it might change in the coming seasons to invite more and better teams than those fallen form grace like Arsenal, Ac/Inter Milan or never reached top Spurs. Maybe more fair qualification based on performances could be introduced later.. Could be the original idea of Champions league in the end just founded by different people. But yeah someone has to end up 15th hehe.

I still find it odd we can mobilise governments, FA’s, UEFA/FIFA in an instant when it comes to a breakaway European competition.

But racism, no chance.

What gives UEFA the right to determine who should play where? Don't understand this all of a sudden love for UEFA. Fifa wants a similar league for Africa. So most likely it will get ratified. Champions league can continue without them. Also Clubs do need to play in competition ratified by FIfa or UEFA. They have voluntarily removed themselves from European competition. That's about it. If UEFA could, they would have removed them from this year competition. They didn't because legally they can't do anything. Next year is different because these clubs will no longer be member of European club competition. They don't need UEFA permission to play in domestic league

FIFA and UEFA are the democratically elected governing bodies of the game at respectively global and European level. The national associations of Europe (i.e. FA) are all organized in UEFA, which is one of FIFAs six confederations.

Your question is akin to ask why the government should determine the laws of a country.

ESL failing and Glazers leaving/selling club in frustration will be the dream scenario to come out of this. Currently we are in nightmare phase.
Or, they close Manchester united Down, sell off the players, and sell Old Trafford to developers. Could easily be a nightmare scenario out of spite.

Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera had earlier today an interview with Rummenigge. Some quotes out of the interview
Do you confirm that Bayern will not enter the Super League?

Rummenigge: "We're not in it because we don't want to be part of it. We are happy to play in the Bundesliga, our bread and butter business. We are happy to make the Champions League. And we cannot forget our responsibility towards our fans, who are generally against such a competition. We also feel the responsibility towards football in general "
Rummenigge: "The solution is to reduce costs. With the Super League, the clubs are trying to solve the problem of debts, which have worsened with the pandemic. But the solution cannot be to collect more and more money and pay more and more players and agents. We need to reduce things a bit, not put more on the table. We have exaggerated with the expenses: everyone, without exception. It's time to be less arrogant"
Rummenigge: "The important thing now is to resume a certain dialogue. My hope is to still find a solution, because the Super League damages all European football. And we must avoid it!"

Cant see how this is true. Having 6 teams capable of winning the league while having better players is a more sellable asset than if West Ham can make top 4?
England will have the majority of SL teams in their league, espeically if a merited club is also from england

Boris is clearly unhappy if he's considering new legislative options to prevent the ESL from taking place. I'm not sure how much power he has in this instance, but it's hardly a bad thing having the Prime Minister in your corner.
There's only one answer for this.

The amount of jobs related to the PL in the UK is significant. I read but cannot post the source that 1% of UK GDP is the PL (or football but for the purposes of this it's basically the same).

The government are already struggling to find additional revenue sources, they don't need rich Yanks to come and destroy more jobs and bankrupt more clubs.

This is the only reason politicians are on the fans' side.

It would be great wouldn't it?

Bayern are a fan owned club and, unsurprisingly, they refused to have any part of the ESL.

Real and Barca are too, didn't stop them. Though I wonder how much of that is due to them knowing that they have the Spanish media in their pocket and can easily control the narrative.

If the Super League does go ahead will Leicester, Wolves, Everton and West Ham then bandy up with Valencia, Napoli, Roma and whoever else to try and start their own midweek league to try and improve their revenue to stay competitive?

Not sure how the FA could argue against it and it will probably feel like a necessity for these clubs pretty quickly. I know this is ridiculous but it just paints a picture of what a mess this could make of things.

It's boring because there's no competition, no stakes.

We'll see about that, mate. If you think that the EPL, the UEFA and the FIFA are just going to bend over and let you take the piss out of them, your fans and football in general while robbing them in the open, think again.

Also, the sense of entitlement and arrogance of posters like yourself are absolutely incredible.

The club is gone years ago. Its a business.
I'm in the same boat as you man . I'm sad.
I want no part of it and I'll never put a penny towards it. Not one penny.

Yeah it was. I could accept the existing structure even though some might argue it was unfair in other ways. There was still a semblance of fair competition and we've seen underdogs win the PL or grow into bigger clubs that have better players and earn loads of money too. The new format kills that.

Even if the PL cave and leave the ESL, the damage is done for me. They don't give two shits about us. The only thing that will get me loving football and the club as much as I did is to see the Glazers and their cronies feck off. This is only Manchester United in name for me.

No one told they won't commit. If you are watching United vs Burnley 2 times a year , you will watch United vs Barca 2 times an year ( atleast I would watch for sure)

They'd just play in the CL?

Interesting if true.

I don't see the City owners being that keen given that the main purpose of owning the club is not making money so much as sportswashing the public image of their dictatorship. Same as PSG.

Never heard of him though he's followed by a number of journos. I'd be inclined not to take it too seriously unless it's reported by someone more credible from a football background.

Makes sense for both Arsenal and Spurs - if they pull out they are back in the C.L :)

Anyone who thinks the Premier league wouldn't survive without those 6 clubs are deluded, boot them out, strip them off their titles and carry on, promote 6 from championship and just carry on,

What would they have lied about? The super league concept is pretty self explanatory, I find it very hard to believe clubs could be "tricked" so easily. Just trying to save face.

This is wrong, they do need to be licensed to play in the leagues. Rangers can’t just rock up in the premier league next year and say hi guys we fancied this league for a change.

It's really not entitlement. It stink to high heavens but, let's not forget, the FA, PL, UEFA, FIFA are all greedy fecks aswell. This is just a fact, and it is likely that they won't kick the clubs out. As a United supporter, I hope I'm wrong. The owners may have just sparked something that will force them out. I hope they get pillaged by the associations and are forced to leave.

I just don't think they will as there is so much money in the ESL anyway and it could potentially get even bigger if they don't play domestic games.

Who do you think is going to purchase the club and not do what the Glazers did? United isn't a small investment, only businessmen will touch it.
Who's going to buy the club ? This is the number one issue.
Oh it will need change in ownership structure too. I was going by the tweets of govt wanting to work on that. Long long shot of course.

Are you trying to portray saving jobs as a questionable motive?

Because this could cost some very wealthy people a lot of money.

I know you want this desperately to happen but (sorry to spoil your party) the PL can and will survive without the TOP 6 for sure. There are tons of much smaller leagues around the world that are able to survive without a problem. As another poster said this would actually be quite exciting as 10 teams could probably win the PL after the exclusion. And after the failure of the SL in a couple of years the 6 teams will come back and start the journey back to the top from the lower leagues. This would be riveting stuff.. imagine the story lines.

Of course they won’t put their all Into it if nothings on the line, you’re being stupidly naive to think otherwise

Was loving Wolves Twitter page this morning...fair play to them! In all seriousness, there are millionaires out there that hate this and if it goes ahead the PL will be fine, at this rate I’d love to see a match up of Leicester, West Ham, Southampton Everton etc for the title
