It’s not laughable when on one hand you get a load of rich prima donnas Who don’t have to commit 100% in a league you can’t be relegated from or be successful to play in and on the other hand you get players who actually need to play to win in a competitive league with consequences of failing or rewards for achieving. The current format is the founders and qualifying teams but it might change in the coming seasons to invite more and better teams than those fallen form grace like Arsenal, Ac/Inter Milan or never reached top Spurs. Maybe more fair qualification based on performances could be introduced later.. Could be the original idea of Champions league in the end just founded by different people. The amount of jobs related to the PL in the UK is significant. I read but cannot post the source that 1% of UK GDP is the PL (or football but for the purposes of this it's basically the same).
The government are already struggling to find additional revenue sources, they don't need rich Yanks to come and destroy more jobs and bankrupt more clubs.
This is the only reason politicians are on the fans' side.

If the Super League does go ahead will Leicester, Wolves, Everton and West Ham then bandy up with Valencia, Napoli, Roma and whoever else to try and start their own midweek league to try and improve their revenue to stay competitive?

All it takes is some very big players from the clubs involved to come out against it, so many other would follow, thinks would get interesting.

Yeah it was. I could accept the existing structure even though some might argue it was unfair in other ways. There was still a semblance of fair competition and we've seen underdogs win the PL or grow into bigger clubs that have better players and earn loads of money too. The new format kills that.
Even if the PL cave and leave the ESL, the damage is done for me. They don't give two shits about us. The only thing that will get me loving football and the club as much as I did is to see the Glazers and their cronies feck off. This is only Manchester United in name for me.

What would they have lied about? The super league concept is pretty self explanatory, I find it very hard to believe clubs could be "tricked" so easily. Just trying to save face.
This is wrong, they do need to be licensed to play in the leagues. Rangers can’t just rock up in the premier league next year and say hi guys we fancied this league for a change.
It's really not entitlement. It stink to high heavens but, let's not forget, the FA, PL, UEFA, FIFA are all greedy fecks aswell. This is just a fact, and it is likely that they won't kick the clubs out. As a United supporter, I hope I'm wrong. The owners may have just sparked something that will force them out. I hope they get pillaged by the associations and are forced to leave.

I know you want this desperately to happen but (sorry to spoil your party) the PL can and will survive without the TOP 6 for sure. There are tons of much smaller leagues around the world that are able to survive without a problem. As another poster said this would actually be quite exciting as 10 teams could probably win the PL after the exclusion. And after the failure of the SL in a couple of years the 6 teams will come back and start the journey back to the top from the lower leagues. This would be riveting stuff.. imagine the story lines.
