Well do you imagine a scenario where United, Liverpool, Real, Barca, Juve etc. would be happy with City spending 2-3 times what they can?

It was in the press release yesterday, founding members have to agree to a spending framework to gain entry. Seems pretty obvious who that's aimed at to keep them in check.

Well they'll ask in theory be making so much money, nobody will have any spending advantage cos everyone will be minted

Yeah, they can do a full-on relocation and rebrand if they want to, and they can go as far as making everyone forget about the previous team's history whilst operating in their current position. This has already happened in the NBA with the Seattle SuperSonics, a big basketball team that was then relocated to Oklahoma City and rebranded as the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nowadays, ask any relatively new or young NBA fan, and they wouldn't know that OKC was previously the Seattle SuperSonics.
My favorite example is the move of the Grizzlies from Vancouver to Memphis. The name made sense in Vancouver, but then kept the same name in Memphis.

Is United v Liverpool just a game?
If removing the rivalry roots, the local rivalry of the two regions, then yes, it's just game. If the ESL teams remove themselves away from their national league, (even relocating is possible), then we only have the franchise clubs by name only. No tradition, no rivalry at that point.

However much the teams are making City's owners will always be richer.

But yeah I'd imagine the spending framework will mean every team has a set budget roughly the same.

Yup.

When its being played in Atlanta or Boston, because it will, the owners will make more money by doing that, then its just a football match between two teams using 100+ year old names for little other than marketing.

James Milner: "I don't like it and hopefully it doesn't happen"
Cerefin's going to look like right cnut if he doesn't put his phone away.

Can you provide a link to Milner's comments?

From the BBC

Liverpool midfielder James Milner talking to Sky Sports: "You have to put in two good halves ands we didn't do that. In the second half we looked tired, probably the Madrid game took a lot out of us.

"For us we are trying to coventrate on the game. There is a lot going on but we have to be professional. We heard first when it broke yesterday.

What is your view of the European Super League? "Same as everyone there is a lot of questions. I can only say my view, I don't like it and hopefully it doesn't happen. I can imagine what has been said about it and I probably agree with a lot of it."

Is it true Chelsea and City are talking about backing out of the SL?

Imagine how good the standing of these two could be now if either of them had the spine to say no. They would have been completely whitewashed as none of the traditional big clubs could have pointed their fingers at them anymore. But they didn't. All the money these clubs invest in marketing themselves around the world and they missed the biggest PR trick imaginable.
