I dont get this.
They are big games because they dont happen so often.
If they happen all the time, they are not big games anymore. Then its just games.
This postNights like that are what footballs all about. Hell, not performing and not getting to take part in nights like this is in a way what football should be about. I remember back when it was Van Gaals last season and we scored a late ish winner against Watford at home when we were chasing the top four, the feeling was amazing and it was gutting when we didn't make it in the end. With these changes all that is gone, it takes the emotion out of the sport.
They are big games because there is always something at stake.
A place in the final, a cup, whatever.
In a competition where losing is meaningless, there will never be anything at stake.
Is this a serious post?Because Manchester United don't belong in the EL, we should play CL football every year. End of. Real Madrid and Barcelona would never let that happen to them. We shouldn't pay for our management's incompetence.
The proposed Super League will have it's own financial fair play rules. I imagine they will be more strictly enforced than the UEFA version.
Not qualifying for the knockouts. Not winning the trophy.Whats the consequences then? I dont see any.
Boggles the mind. Ajax should have been one of the first names on that shitty list. Ajax could be a real draw with significant investment. Living in Amsterdam, playing for one of the greatest clubs on earth. How would that not be appealing? I'd picking Ajax over Spurs or Arsenal every day of the week.Proper football club, shambolic they weren’t invited and Spurs somehow were.
Nope. Will be when its played in the ESL for me though. Is United v Liverpool just a game?
I don´t think the Super League could survive in a vacuum. There would not be many matches to watch in the end.The TV companies would pay a fortune for top class matches between the best teams week in week out, they'd have millions of subscribers all over the world.
At present the intention is to still play the domestic competitions as well, maybe the PL wll be reduced to say 16 teams in the future but if UEFA launch into banning top clubs straight away without thinking very carefully about it, it could destroy the framework of the current leagues and cups anyway.
I fully expect a lot of discussion and some kind of compromise in the end.
Would be the same in the ESL.... maybe you should read the competition format. The main issue is the entry criteriaNope. Will be when its played in the ESL for me though.
Right now its a game because the winner not only get to beat their worse rival, they also get 3 points towards a league title/champions league spot while at the same time making it harder for the rival to do the same.
I wonder if the Super League has given any thought to who is actually going to be refereeing the league.
Beacuse it won't be the UEFA refs.
How long is Swedish Fish out for?Yeah seems so.
Not qualifying for the knockouts. Not winning the trophy.
Yeah, they can do a full-on relocation and rebrand if they want to, and they can go as far as making everyone forget about the previous team's history whilst operating in their current position. This has already happened in the NBA with the Seattle SuperSonics, a big basketball team that was then relocated to Oklahoma City and rebranded as the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nowadays, ask any relatively new or young NBA fan, and they wouldn't know that OKC was previously the Seattle SuperSonics. So in theory they could change the name of Manchester United and move the club out of Manchester if this goes through right?

Advertising breaks bro!About this particular change...explaining all of the decisions will add extra, unnecessary delays,
I presume they mean in the new league losing is meaningless which is probably accurate since there is no relegation.Losing isnt meaningless

Your arguing a point I dont disagree with. Way too much hysteria going on. Argue the points that matter.Oh, boo fecking hoo, you didn't qualify this year, but don't worry you'll be back next. Here is €300m for taking part. Don't worry about your domestic league position, we'll make sure we keep out those pesky teams like Leicester who are in all objective measures better than you.
They've made me laugh!
Going strictly off the amount of warning points he has, a week. Don't know if the mods will make it permanent though as they were all given in the last 24 hours or so, so it's not like a gradual thing. How long is Swedish Fish out for?
Doubt it will be that strict. The clubs are making the rules... Why would they make rules that will get them in trouble.
Tough considering United are supposedly leading the charge, measures to curb spending would make sense. They'll probably cap transfers at 20m.
Its no accurate in my opinion.I presume they mean in the new league losing is meaningless which is probably accurate since there is no relegation.

United should follow suit if true.Is it true Chelsea and City are talking about backing out of the SL?
Yes maybe im naive. I just cant see anybody give i shit who wins this thing. Not qualifying for the knockouts. Not winning the trophy.
