Oh dont worry, he has found a new excuse already... the team is young. I have seen a few interviews where he says the team is young and needs time and patience... feels like we have not bought him players and told him to use the youth only.

Just feel like there is no progression in his style of play and we play the same horrendous way as we did last season, which only saved him via injuries/fa cup final.

I don’t think he even knows what his best team is if everyone was fit and available, especially the front three and midfield.

Frankly it has been so bad for us United fans for a long time now. We haven't had good attacking football since Fergie left. I know some will say that it was good under Jose or Ole but if you know how patterns of play, strategy and everything such works, you'd say we haven't done well in a long time. I don't know what it is about United, it is so toxic. I don't blame EtH one bit because he has a positive mentality and calls the action as it is. He isn't hiding behind anyone or from the camera. I think he has put together a good team this term. We need to see results but I still think we need to be patient with him. The man is a serial winner before this. We just cannot keep changing managers. We need to back him and give him more time. I am always in tears when fans go crazy and want managers out all the time. All the good managers have bad starts but over time, once their philosophy is instilled in the players, it gets better. 3 years is not enough for that and his team is complete only after this window. We need to give him time until Christmas at least, to see where it goes. I'm still EtH in. I hope so are Ineos. I hurt when we lose badly but Southgate is not the answer to our questions and so isn't RvN.

Even though I realise that a loss might benefit us, it's impossible to want to lose. Hell if I do.
That said, there's no doubt that if we'd lost that FA Cup final, Ten Hag wouldn't be our manager today. But what a beautiful FA Cup final it was.
and that FACup win fecked us! Hence why many here didnt want to win, not because they hate the club but for the long term benefit.

No. This is just delusion. All good managers have a bad start but this is 3 years worth of bad with 0 evidence he can improve us.

There are no patterns of play.
No defensive organisation
No hope
Sack him now.

I am disappointed that ineos, who in my opinion have done quite well so far, gave ten hag another chance seemingly based on that cup win. Our fa cup run was equal parts amazing and embarrassing. We could have easily gone out to Coventry, Newport gave us a game and Liverpool was incredible partly because it was so close to being failure.

It feels like the win was all they saw rather than the run that came before it. Not to mention our abysmal showing in the league.

For me sadly ten hag has to go, not sure who needs to come in for him but he has had quite a long time now and really hasn't taken us forwards at all.

We haven't gotten De Jong yet.

Sorry I made a mistake. English can be difficult to spell sometimes.

Didn't bother looking up the accurate numbers but these are the reliably reported base fees + add-ons if my memory serves me well

It's still a lot but you added a few imaginary millions

There's quite a lot of delusion in this post.
A positive mentality and calls the action as it is? Not for me. Not hiding behind the camera? It's excuse after excuse. I don't think 3 Eredivisies with Ajax can be counted as a 'serial winner'. 3 years isn't enough to implement some sort of style and patterns of play?

Fans don't want managers out all the time, they want them to succeed but there comes a point when it is blatantly obvious that it's just not going to happen. I wish I shared your optimism that he can turn things around from now until Christmas. It looks like he's got at least 2 more games, best of luck to the guy.

I think the Cup win might have been a factor, but I don't think it was based on the cup win. They had just taken over and overhauled the management structure. They didn't have key hires in place. They needed a solid transfer window. They didn't want to take an unnecessary risk. Ten Hag survived because of that. It is understandable, I am not criticising them for that decision.

Yeah I think that's fair. Still frustrating that he's probably the wrong person to lead the club forward.

Hopefully INEOS don't drag this out at this point.

I think they will drag it out.
They should've got rid of him after the FA CUP Final.
This would've allowed a new manager to have a complete summer of transfers and full pre-season.
Instead, INEOS (and Glazers before them) are reacting. This should never happen in an organisation.

A full plan should be in place, well in advance of a change in manager. This allows the incoming manager to have a chance of being more successful (due to being able to make preparations, months in advance) and also prevents the season from being written off...which will now happen if ETH is sacked.

I wanted him gone in the Summer, as it was proven beyond doubt that he was unable to manage a top team in the EPL. There was no need to hang on to him.
Sure enough, the season has started and he is continuing in exactly same vein as he ended last season.

After 6 games we have a -3 GD and are in 13th place.
Last season we finished 8th.

No club in it's right senses would allow the failing manager who finished in 8th, to spend even more money.

In saying all of the above, I would inform ETH, perhaps in private, that he will be replaced in the Summer and that he should do his absolute best to get the highest league position possible.
I would also start looking for a replacement to start in late May 2025.

INEOS have not only spent a lot of money in the Summer, but now have a manager on their hands who is failing.
INEOS, in my opinion, will fail, just as ETH and the Glazers before them. They proved my right in the Summer and will continue to prove me right going forward.

Is it me but I do not think Ruud will be a good appointment. He is there now on the coaching staff and we cannot defend or attack.

I dont see him changing anything.

Doesn't always work that way, Flick was assistant manager under Niko Kovac at Bayern when the team wasn't very good. He then took over after Kovac was fired and turned them into a winning machine. I'm sure Ruud has some input on how we play but i think the main part of tactics, team selection and formations etc is still down to Ten Hag.

In fact he hasn't done anything different from what he's been doing for the last 2 years, so i don't think he's listening to Ruud that much. At the end of the day Ruud works under Ten Hag so obviously Erik will set the tone when it comes to tactics and what not. I have no idea how good RVN's PSV Eindhoven were, but apparently they won a cup and the board wanted him to stay before he quit.

"In March 2022, Van Nistelrooy was appointed as the replacement for the outgoing Roger Schmidt as PSV's head coach. He signed a three-year contract beginning with the 2022–23 season. After winning the 2022 Johan Cruyff Shield and 2022–23 KNVB Cup, he resigned with one match remaining in the 2022–23 Eredivisie season, citing a lack of support."

I say we fire Ten Hag and give him a shot as Interim manager, can't be worse than what we watch every week.

I added nothing. I read an article

Ineos don't need to look too far when deciding on whether ETH should continue to be in charge. The amount of negative stats I'm seeing in circulation is mind numbing.

So many prices inflated there just to prove a point. Hojlund was nowhere near that much ffs.

Yeah I'm officially in the "give him the villa game then sack him over the international break" camp.

That United performance vrs Spurs has broken the fanbase.

It was that bad.
Or the 3-0 vs Liverpool. Or the twente pathetic performance. Or go to literally any point since about October of last season when many have fully given up on ten hag.

First season with largely someone else's team, he does well, wins a trophy and gets wins over some decent opposition.

Yet, somehow with the money spent on his own signings, we have amazingly gotten worse and worse.

He has to go.

We're so bad that I don't even want Ruud as interim. Nobody involved in this shit show should be in charge, even if it's temporary.

TBF it was worse last season and Ruud wasn't here. The only constant at the club between last season and this is Ten Hag, given so much of the squad has changed and the coaching staff has changed

We'll draw against Porto and this fool will survive
