ETH Out Thread

One thing I've noticed for a long time is that ETH never ever looks happy, we just equalized in the 91st minute and he is still not looking happy?

And you were screaming and shouting of joy when we scored that goal ?

The problem with being two games away from being sacked is that it's just not sustainable. What happens if we beat Villa on Sunday but then lose the next two? Is he two games away again?
There is more chance of conceding 3 goals yet again at villa than us beating them.

Better to accept the defeat in tough games and give the new guy a good chance to get confidence going in easier games. Unlikely to beat Villa regardless of who is on charge on such short notice, so let the new guy be untouched by this shit show

That's what ab interim is for surely? Let RvN manage us against Villa then we have international break to sort things out.

I think Ten Hag going will lift the players a bit and we need to increase our chances of getting something against Villa.

Why? Why did we just gift 3 points to Porto today and why are we gifting 3 points to Villa again. He needed to go after the Final but yet here we are just gifting teams 3 points before the game starts by keeping him on.

I don't know, im probably biased by managers changing at international breaks

The sort things out is getting Ten Hag out and an interim in... I doubt we get our next permanent manager in before the summer (unless we go for Southgate or Tuchel, in which case.... Ugh)

That's why nobody being serious would suggest this results pattern is actually real. If INEOS genuinely operate this way, we might as well just start employing people randomly from the streets in key positions. We're not fecking serious.

The commentator speculating that the narrative should change heading into the Villa match following the equaliser. Therein lies the problem. The narrative should not change. The man has to go.

Actually thought if it was possible they sack him after tonight if if stayed 3-2. With 3-3 he's safe until Sunday but surely we can't beat Villa?

Any time now will be fine thanks. Nothing is changing until he’s gone. He has a zero chance of turning us into title challengers.

A draw vs Villa will probably be enough for him to stay. We have no standards anymore

Never know it's not easy for teams playing after a champions league match especially if it was your first

Any competent club would have sacked him in the summer. Sadly we are not a competent club anymore

That would mean 8 points won out of possible 21 in 7 league games. You're right, it would be another proof of having no standards.

Ten Hag ‘s outright refusal to acknowledge his own mistakes as a manager is quite telling. It’s always “about the team and their performance” and he seems to absolve himself of any blame.

Both Arteta and Pep in the past have owned up to errors of judgement. It takes a certain degree of confidence and self-awareness to do that, traits which our manager doesn’t possess.

It’s got the ‘writing on the wall’ feeling now. Just the question is when and who’s coming in

Process isn't a shield to excuse consistent bad performances like he seems to think it is. Process should eventually start yielding results, his process isn't.

After the Spurs drubbing I thought he'd be sacked after the Villa game, I still think that's the most likely outcome. 2pts from games against Twente and Porto is shit. It's shit. I'm glad the team clawed something back so there still a shot at progression in the competition (if ETH goes), but the short shot of adrenaline from a late equaliser isn't anything when balanced against the crap football, the same problems, and the way this season has started.

I was prepared to give him another chance this season, since he was staying anyway and I don't actively want the team I support to lose to get rid of a manger, even though I felt he should have been sacked long ago. He burned through that chance so quickly, with the Brighton and Liverpool games. There's nothing to suggest this is worth wasting further time with, but I don't think it's gets done before Villa.

Get Ruud in until the end of the season. We're quite good with interims. Giggs, Ole, Carrick, Rangn... Ok, not the last one. But the others!

And then at the start of next season hire a random fan, sack them at half time, and replace them with another interim manager! Job done.

Amazing how many heads have been turned by this.

It was an absolutely bizarre thing to see.
The worst season we've ever had in the Premier League, dumped out of Europe unceremoniously, minus goal difference...

But somehow, winning the FA Cup was, for quite a few of our fanbase, was like one of those flashy things from Men In Black that erases your memory.

Nevermind title challengers. We're not even mid table challengers on this kind of form. It wasn't even this bad when Ole was here. I just want this nightmare to end.

Will be a relief when he's gone. 2 trophies won was fun but we've become midtable in league since 23/24 season started.

He should go regardless of Villa's result. Hes been very poor tactically, ZERO game management, and abysmal in transfer business (whom he had direct role in). We are 12th with minus GD after finishing 8th also with minus GD. Im not quite sure how could you defend him?

I’m quite in awe of how you can spend £200 million this summer and end up with this. I assumed that with a fit squad we would see improvements this season but clearly very very wrong.

What are the chances he goes to another club and looks like a top manager again, like how everyone was saying McKenna was pointless coach and he turns out to be a top tactical manager.

Ive always rated McKenna and i thought Ole was better manager than many here thought People need to understand the quality of squad they had in their disposal, Ole and McKenna had to work with McFred midfield for 3 seasons, there was no serious investment for the frontline before Sancho (whom they didnt really have enough time to work with), they had to make do with bunch of old striker signings; ighalo, cavani, Ronaldo. They made our players look better than they actually were.

Achingly familiar over the last decade isn't it.
Just enough time to let him change the whole squad and make loads of summer signings only to need to bring a new manager in, who will inevitably want his own signings.
And it all starts again.

It won't happen again, otherwise Ashworth and Wilcox are redundant

Ten hag said in the summer the signings weren't his.

My prediction is he will be sacked in the international break after Aston Villa totally dominated us

I’m just going to retain belief that the decision has already been made and they’re just waiting for after the Villa game to sack him. The international break allows whatever interim they put in charge some time to assess things.

Without this belief there’s no hope for this club if this cnut is still here.

It really does take a special kind of ineptitude to be THIS bad.

Our league form over the last 19 games would see us finish about 15th on a "points per game" basis.

We've conceded 3 goals or more 23 times in 150 games.

We're effectively performing like a struggling promoted side in terms of results and our performances are arguably even worse visually than the results!
