Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

Calm down pal I was 99% joking. I'm going to need a bit longer before I'm fully convinced by Murtough and his recruitment team as I've been burned too many times by this club. Were Maguire and AWB not signed under his watch?

Murtough was not the Football Director in 2019.

No. They were signed under Woodward.

John Murtough was appointed DoF In February 2022.

Small correction, Murtough was appointed in March 2021.

You can see below the latest structure, as per The Athletic

Where does Ronaldo go to though if he leaves us? Who’s gonna pay his wages, the only team I can think of is psg but just can not see messi and Ronaldo in the same team… unless mbappe leaves. If Ronaldo leaves we will need at least 2 strikers, right wing, DM + CB. Wonder if ten Hag gives martial a chance next season, he’ll bin him of in January though when he realises how lazy he is and won’t fit into his high press system.

Is Klopp trash manager for getting relegated witih Meinz?

No because he did a really good job with Dortmund and has done an equally good job at Liverpool. Ole hasn't outperformed his resources at any point so far in his managerial career. Thats what the very best managers do. Ole wasn't top tier in any area of management while he was at United and I think in a few years when he isn't offered another top job, some of the people defending him might have to start asking themselves why...

Why is someone who managed at one of the biggest clubs in the world for 3 years not getting lots of offers from lesser clubs.

That's the thing. Ole's managerial stint has been the most successful since SAF but you and other people here just plain refuse to acknowledge that

By what metric.

Trophies?
Style of football?
Wasted money?

Its hard to see that he has been the best in any area.

Salah wasn’t Salah when he was 22. Sancho has massive potential, he can become an exceptional player. ETH can work with numerous members of the squad. Shame a lot of fans have decided that everyone needs to go and they hate them all, as ETH could do with a wave of positivity and support coming into the club, not a bunch of fans who want all the players sold and the stadium torn down, then the owners to sell the club all at the same time.
Agree 100%.

Loads of the players who need to go are going to go anyway within 18 months because contracts are expiring. It's not that big a job.

Plus people are talking like Klopp and Guardiola are both going to be in situ forever, whereas both are likely to be gone by 2024. That makes it a much more level playing field.

Has United been top tier in anything in the last 10 years?

You also started talking about trash management in relation to getting relegated. I addressed that.

Ole did quite well with us considering the circumstances and was making progress season after season. Until something happened this summer. I'll leave you to ponder what that was.

Good post.

Thats horseshit. Jose Mourinho was the most successful manager post Fergie. 2nd place plus won the Europa league and EFL cup. I didn't see Ole lift up any trophies.

Yeah Ole was 100% not more successful than Jose. Just because it seemed like we were happier doesn’t mean we were better. Even LVG got us a cup. Jose finished an uncompetetive 2nd, as did Ole. But Jose won the europa league, Ole lost the final.

If you ignore the trophies who has been more successful than Ole?
I hope Ten Hag doesn't trot out the Ole line about a trophy and a coach's ego. Also, he should avoid words, such as DNA, culture, etc.

It likely is. They had an article about a Newcastle fan being mistaken for a zebra by another zebra not long ago which turned out to be true and had a very unsavoury ending.
Unsavoury can have many meanings here . Did the zebra think the fan was a rival or did he think the fan was on heat and open to mate?

I won't be surprised if the media department at the club coach him to use a few of these words during his first presser or interview on MUTV. This type of shit still resonates with a lot of united supporters

Whatever the words, ultimately, I would like him to stick to football, not pseudo-psychology or marketing mantra. I think he is smart enough to navigate through the mess ahead.
