Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

Looks like he’s the chosen one! I wanted Poch but I’ll be fully behind Ten Hag and hope we can get some nice football at Old Trafford for the coming years.

He will need time, even pep needed a year to settle in at City and that was with a world class squad. I just hope we can get an exciting brand of football next season and push on from there.

Even if it's done, don't think we'll announce it as long as Ajax are in a title race and have a cup final

Yep they will want to respect Ajax I think this news is out there to keep the fans happy after a shite weekend of football by letting them know Ten Hag is on the way.

So unbelievably chuffed with this. It genuinely feels like the first progressive move we’ve made since Fergie’s retirement. It feels like we have something to work towards again.

Looks like this is done. Lets hope this works out. We really, really need this to work.

Maybe that's why they decided to go against him, seeing as Ragnick isn't exactly pulling up any trees on the field with his football. Who knows...
I was worried Rangnick would choose Pochettino because they're both counter pressing merchants. And I was hoping the likes of Bout and de Regt would sway Murtough, because from what i've read about the two Dutchies, is that they're well versed in the play style of ten Hag.

Some sources say they aren't impressed.

Some think he's nailed on.

Let's wait to hear how the players feel in a few months.

Got to fecking hope we function better as a club above him to give him the chance to turn us around.
While I agree with the sentiment, I fear that will be the ready made excuse for him should he fail. The club is doing what the fans wanted, RR was a popular appointment, Sancho and Varane were excellent signings. They then added a superstar in Ronnie. The club can’t be an excuse now. If he’s given the funds needed, there needs to be no excuses.

Looks like a brief has gone out. The social media sentiment must have gone haywire when the Rangnick story broke last night. Guess they thought this would get the online buzz back where they want it.

All I will say about Ten Hag is he's a good coach. If he fails that will be because of the way we do business.

He’s a brave man taking this on. This job is massive. We either watch Newcastle become a force with Chelsea, City and Pool whilst we battle Spurs and Arsenal or we step up and push Chelsea into battling Spurs and Arsenal for the Europa league. It feels like the most important decision in the future of the club since Fergie left.
Let’s hope this time next year we can look back and see a new world class manager.

Feel bad for Ajax. Not only are we taking their manager, a collapse in the title race is inevitable now that we've settled on him.

Expecting Donny Van De Beek to come back with a vengeance
Scenes when he's left on the bench for most games

Which I wouldn't be surprised with tbh. He might have been key to Ten Hag at Ajax, but he might not fancy him in the premier league, just like our previous managers.

Wait, what have I missed?

Bench? Little do we know, Donny is probably the replacement for Pogba :D

Great news if true.

As tired a statement as this is for United fans - We need to show the patience required while he gets his head around this mess of a squad. We did it for Ole, LVG, Mou, while I don't think any of them were considered widely as 'The right' choice for us. ETH would be such an exciting move in the right direction and so deserves the same patience and support.

I don’t think Ten Hag will come in and want big signings. I hope he’s the type of manager to turn unknown players into world class players. I think this is fundamental to the next few years. I’d be happy for him to strengthen all the areas with less known quantities. Hungry players that are actually proud to play for United. I read somewhere that this guy lacked charisma. His Ajax team certainly play with Charisma. Modern forward thinking with new ideas. Our boys are going to hate it :D
