Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

Get the feck in……Really feel like this is the man we need but we will have to be patient for 2/3 years while he overhauls what we have and what we do.

Despite me wanting ETH from the off....makes me nervous to learn he's Joel Glazers choice.
Arnold and Glazers just want the fans on side, hence he's their choice. It was the likes of Fletcher, Murtough (I expect) that were keen on Poch.

You've done it, you've fecking done it. You actually chose the best available manager. Took you a decade to do the obvious, but better late than never.

So you think Murtough and Fletcher who have been known admirers of Rangnick, went against his preferred option and the two people appointed to make these decisions have been vetoed by two non-footballing people who have shown themselves to be fairly placid and delegate as much as possible?

I think if I had to hazard a guess, it was SAF and former player contingent who wanted Poch and JM, DF, RR et al were pulling hard for the correct choice.

@Adnan @bosnian_red if he is a disaster we will have to leave the caf or put everyone on ignore.
English media will turn on him quicker than milk. He was the overwhelming fan choice (by quite an astonishing margin), if Ole got 3 years, we can certainly give that ETH as a minimum.

I don't know, obviously, but the board being split has been widely reported. If it was just SAF who wanted Poch, I'd be surprised. Either way, we've come to the correct decision it seems.

The english media can feck right off. As long as I will see progress on the field I will back ETH to the hilt. So will most of the match going fans. And that's all that matters.

Yay!

I mean objectively he's probably fecked in what is a nightmarishly difficult job.

But still, yay!

I'm an Ajax fan but you posting like this makes me even more confident.

Murtough and Fletcher were the ones handling the interview process.

Pochettiino is a close match to Rangnick stylistically, so I was slightly worried he'd recommend Pochettino. But so far so good with John Murtough and i'm sure there would've been others like Henny de Regt and Marcel Bout involved.

Read the tweet I posted above. Jason Burt says ten Hag moved ahead of Poch after impressing in the interviews.

I think the reason those 2 pulled the trigger is because getting Poch out of his contract before summer was viewed as a long and ardous afair. And even then, this is PSG. Nothing is stopping them from telling us to feck off in 2 month and back Poch for another season. They are a spiteful bunch.

The way I see it, is they became fed up with the backlash and decided to pull the trigger. This way they can get some heat of their backs and also actually start planning our summer transfers something that barely gets mentioned on here. Now that we have a choice of a manager, the whole structure can start doing it's job, rather than just sit on their arses all day.

Chuffed with this - hope it gets over the line.

We give this man time and patience and to build the team correctly.

Maybe that's why they decided to go against him, seeing as Ragnick isn't exactly pulling up any trees on the field with his football. Who knows...

I agree, do think that the intention was always to go for Poch, but the weight of Rangnick's opinion and that of the fans have forced this through. It's what I'm choosing to believe anyway :)

Or they finished the interviews, reviewed them and settled on the candidate they collectively preferred.

Looks like it is done  We have our very own Pep Guardiola is my idol

Those 2 aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

They kind of are. Your post suggest that Pochettino was the preferred option and that a foreign element led to not pick him. Maybe you didn't mean it that way but you essentially made ETH a second choice.

This is great. Finally a manager to instill a modern style of football and get this team playing some good possession based footy instead of the counter attacking crap we've had to endure. Fingers crossed he's actually good.
