Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

He was my favourite, but since United decided to pick him - it's probably the wrong choice :)

Let's fecking go. Hope it's true. This is the first time post Sir Alex that we are hiring a manager trending in the right direction. A manager who has an attacking philosophy. A manager who has shown that he can adapt and change his tactics to suit different players after his best ones get poached, and still have them perform as more than the sum of their parts and still maintain the same attacking identity. A manager that is on the rise and we are the logical step up for him.

Its genuinely the first forward thinking appointment we've made post Sir Alex, if true. Hopefully the club supports him properly, he gets the backing to bring in his staff and make changes to the squad and implement his style. I'm excited.

Get the feck in. While this is a risky appointment at least it will be an exciting one. Poch is a good coach but he would have been a continuation of what we've been doing for the past few years. We'd have carried on playing with zero personality or style and grinding out top 4 finishes.

Maybe Ten Hag will fail but at least we know he'll attempt to implement a system and a style of play, and no doubt leave us in better shape for his eventual successor.

Congratulations. This is massive. I didn't think your board had it in them. Feel a bit jelly, even if I shouldn't.

Zero faith in that. But nothing we can do about that. Hopefully we will see at least our football improve.

Exciting. Hope he is given time and freedom to change things. Best of all options available, hopefully he will join Pep/Klopp at the top of the crop while at United.

Exciting stuff if true. Don't suppose there's any point urging patience while he acquaints himself with the shit-show is there?

The thing is, United have always given managers 2 things they always crave - time and money. We have never sacked a manager too soon, we wait too long to act of anything. And we always give them a feck ton to spend. Maybe that in itself is a problem. Take the decision away from them. Didn't Klopp famously not actually want Salah, but he was forced on him? He preferred Brandt I think. Yet here we are.

I'm shocked that the club has done the right thing for once. Now we as fans need to be patient. Our problems won't be fixed in a few months or even a year.

Fair point.

Either Arnold and Joel read the Caf or they're purposely going against those that wanted Poch? In all honesty they seem like the two least qualified people to be selecting the next manager
Despite me wanting ETH from the off....makes me nervous to learn he's Joel Glazers choice.
TBF Ragnick has also pushed for ETH, so they might have listened to him as well.

Personally I don't think it was their choice per say. I think it is more of a situation candidate B is good, but candidate A is better.

I think Mortough+Fletcher just gave them a report with a recommendation and the final say was behind those 2.

Reports have stated that Murtogh is also backing ETH, but who knows....
