It's like a weird amalgamation of LVGs possession when not under pressure, José's deep block and Ole's quick counter attacks and long balls over the top.
Yep.

Although we were not totally clueless passing the ball under LVG, and could defend under Mourinho. The attacking is very similar to that under Ole in his first 2.5 years, although in Ole's last full season, we were most threatening.

Could be argued that he has combined the worst parts of those three (although Jose and Ole at their worst were much worse).

Stop bringing on Weghorst when we're chasing a goal FFS
We really should play Fernandes as a false 9 and Eriksen as ano10 or vica versa, Martial is even worse than Werghorst, never reaching top speed jogging aroung saving energy for who knows what.. and he can't control the ball or bring anyone into play other than if he drops really deep and slows everything down after someone plays the ball to his feet. He should play second French league or in Turkey, and he will after we finally kick him out.

Werghorst is out of his depth yeah, we all know that, at least somewhat he gives his all.

I get that we dont have a natural striker but, feck me, we have a pretty decent midfield and wide options to try and keep the fecking ball longer for 2 seconds.

What the flying feck are they doing in training ? we lack so much composure in the middle and we shouldn't when we have Casemiro and Bruno.

He’s looking tactically clueless right now.
Worst is we only ever turn up one half of a match. What does he say at half-time that we struggle to really up the ante in the second half when the first half has been good. I understand he needs better players but Brighton don't have better players than us, then why can we not keep the ball better. He came with the rep of being someone who coached pressing and possession football, but I am not seeing a lot of either right now than what we saw under Ole.

A few other big teams are having poor seasons so it’ll be interesting to see how we do next season with him.

Not sure what he could've done today. It was a good, even game against a very good team that had 11 in-form players out there today.
We had some really good chances. Brighton are a better team than us currently and actually I was hoping this is the kind of team we will become under Ten Hag after a season.

Why he keeps giving Weghorst minutes is baffling. He offers absolutely nothing.

He has a lot to prove next season.

Some of the football Brighton played today, I was expecting that from us with Ten Hag.

His insistence on Weghorst coming on is ludicrous.

Do you truly not understand the implications of the fixture congestion? Can you actually not wrap your head around something so very simple, or have you lost your grip on reality and think this is a game of fecking FIFA. 2-3 games a week for almost half a year and you have the utter audacity to post this. Grow the feck up
Oh sorry, I forget that the other teams are playing once per week.

No one said he is, but I consider the context, all the missing players through season, the suspensions, the amount of games and fatigue. I don't care only looking at results and numbers and only judge by that, that is shallow.
You’re not the only one judging with context mate. Someone like Weghorst has been shocking, but he continues to give him minutes rather than trying to change it. I get we don’t have a lot of options upfront, but if that’s the case maybe just play without a striker in a match like that, let Bruno or someone play in the space and get the ball up the pitch.
I don’t think many people want Ten Hag out, but by saying anyone questioning Ten Hag are unreasonable and that we need to just let him get away with any poor decision until next season leaves you as hysterical as the people you originally mocked.

De Zerbris been in the job 6 months and has Danny Welbeck as his leading striker…still managed to play us off the park twice in last two weeks
The team is knackered and there is not sufficient squad depth to rely on substitutes. It’s a really tough position to be in.

His game management still needs improvement. Should’ve gotten Maguire ready as soon as the 90 is over, and throw him on for that FK/corner just to mess with them a bit.

Not going to blame him for the subs, aside from Weghorst obviously, feck knows what he sees in him, he played as good a team as we can possibly put out atm and bench is poor.

We have shown enough in the season for ETH to be completely safe for next season. He does need to find a solution for this away form though. Horrific stuff.

They have fresher legs and it's been obvious that Ten Hag has been pragmatic with what he has in regards to possession football. I feel like this has been obvious for a while now.

The true criticism should come from his desire to play Wout, and potentially spending all that money on Antony (although it did make sense at the time to get anyone in that could make us more solid).

The problem is goalscoring - Rashford has been out of form since returning from injury, Martial belongs at Besiktas and Wout is Wrexham level. We can’t exploit chances in the first half and then we tire badly in the second due to the number of games played. Having said that, ETH still has a lot to prove at this level both in terms of game management and season management.

People can’t just trust the process can they? Always wanting change and upheaval. He needs to see the job out of getting top 4, try and get a result in the final then we go again next season.
Exactly, I give up on some people, if you say you don't want to shit on the manager because of many bad circumstances this season and will judge him next season more, it apparently means "he can do no wrong for you". It is all in extremes with them, like I am talking to the fecking wall here.

What I can’t understand is how de Zerbi has Brighton playing better football than us despite being at the club less time than ETH has had at Utd and hasn’t made any transfers and actually lost a key player to Arsenal. Surely Utd’s midfield is better than brightons?

De Zerbi is a great midtable coach as he’s shown previously with Sassuolo… No guaranty that would translate well at a club with higher pressure (Potter also was good for Brighton). And he’s had a week between games most of the season. Only deep run in the FA Cup. While ETH basically had to play his side every 3 days. Very little room to work things deep enough. But I think we can trust the manager with experience handling Ajax pressure more than midtable coaches.

You won’t want to hear it lads, but I’ll go again.

We have a fourth/fifth place team.

Most of our players are fairly thick and some of them are absolutely shite.

But do crack on and blame this poor sod.

Do Brighton have better players than us?

We all expressed concern about Rashford scoring so many. No-one else has reallt been chipping in so when Marcus isnt firing, we aint scoring.

Look at the effort Arsenal have put in and they'll probably come up short. We are not sniffing the league anytime soon trying some of this new age football with Klopp and Guardiola around. Hopefully we lean into the counter attack even more next season especially with the likes of Bruno and Marcus in their prime.

What worries me is how the players can still look utterly clueless on the ball and how we can't seem to string more than 3 passes together. I've got full faith in him sorting it out but tiredness cannot be an excuse for fully fledged professionals not knowing how to pass a fecking football.

What you can't understand for some reason is the effect this insane fixture congestion has on human beings made of flesh and blood. It's not that complicated

By far OUR best player, jeezus wept:wenger:

Shouldnt have kept Martial to play second half and Casemiro + Anthony red card walking for so long, we are basically lucky to finish game in 11.

Not a big change from the previous managers, hitting a lot of bad spells, or are we ready to blame players again. How many new players we need and can't we simply win over the likes of Brighton with quite a lot of rookies/youngsters and hardworkers with just a proper system? Where is our system?

Really frustrating days..
Our best player? Surely you're taking the piss?

74% pass accuracy 17/23.
0/2 successful dribbles.
0/1 accurate long balls.
4/9 ground duals won.

The guy is as meek as they come when pressed, absolute garbage player that's hit the lottery pulling on the United shirt as often as he has. Shouldn't be at the club after this summer.

God I despite our stupid team - always, ALWAYS let me down in fantasy. I have DDG, everyone else has Steele.

Hate our team sometimes. Really do. Season over type stuff

Do Brighton have better players than us?
No, but the players look burnt out as its a trend to have second half dips now. Ten hag should be managing the squad better and that includes making better subs.

What a horrible thread. He's universally praised by everyone in the game for winning a trophy and getting the club into a place where we can qualify for the champions league, and people have their dunce caps on comparing him to Solksjaer. He's basically got the same players as Solskjaer with a few exceptions. A side that needed about 10 players due to how poorly they performed yet again last year. But its Ten Hag's fault? A man so desperate for reinforcements that our wonderful owners gave him Jack Butland, someone Bayern Munich actively wanted rid of halfway through a season and a giant who couldnt score a goal for Burnley for more than once ever 15 games.

Ten Hag's another guy people are going to hang out to dry because the club is an absolute joke under this regime. One in a long time.

Why does he keep bringing Weghorst on? What does he see in him? I think it is such a big mistakes that it is worrying. It looks like stupid stubbornness.

Would give him a 6 so far, 6.5 if we finish in top 4, 7 if we win the FA CUP, 7.5 if we accomplish both.

So far, hugely disappointed with the lack of organisation and control in all of our matches. From next season there will be no excuses and he has to deliver.

The summer window is going to be huge.

I've been happy with what he's done for the most part, but lately we really seem to be regressing. Our pressing is basically non-existent and we can't play out from the back at all. I thought we were getting modern football with this guy?

Played some decent stuff earlier in the season but now it's all counter attacking and hoof ball. And the substitutions are very questionable... why is he still bringing in Wout every game. He's absolutely useless.
