Yet again, no reason at all to have a go at ETH for this loss. This was a well played match against a very well organised opponent. The players are tired and the substitutes are shite. Ten Hag is doing what he can with what he has.

The difference in the quality of the football we play, and the football Brighton play is night and day. They’ve played us off the park everytime we’ve played them this season.

The results have been better this season, but the football is still horrific. We play like the underdogs and collapse every single time away from home. Questions should be rightly asked.

Only by unreasonable people [anyone that doesn’t agree with me], reasonable people [me] will consider all the context this season and really judge him next season like it should be.
Fixed your post for you.

I think EtH deserves time but these infantile posts need to die.

He is really lacking lot of experience when it comes to PL football, I really hope he rewatches many games before next season and learns something. Should probably rewatch few Fergies seasons too.

It's the first season for the manager where he's having to make it work without a natural goalscorer.

It takes time..

It takes time to not look pathetic away from him like this every single game ?

You can’t just say it’s unreasonable for anyone to question Ten Hag or the decisions he makes, he isn’t infallible mate.
No one said he is, but I consider the context, all the missing players through season, the suspensions, the amount of games and fatigue. I don't care only looking at results and numbers and only judge by that, that is shallow.

De Zerbris been in the job 6 months and has Danny Welbeck as his leading striker…still managed to play us off the park twice in last two weeks

I do not think that it has reached the point of no return, but at the same time, I do not think that he has shown anything to warm up the idea that he is anywhere near a top coach. We are playing like we played under Mourinho and Ole, but worse than during their best seasons.

It's like a weird amalgamation of LVGs possession when not under pressure, José's deep block and Ole's quick counter attacks and long balls over the top.

Why can’t we score to save our lives?

I don’t think our front four do any shooting practice!

Points per game in the PL is around the same as Ole. He has wasted a fortune on Antony like Ole did on Sancho.
Sancho came with a good reputation. Same as Maguire. And Sanchez. You can go back years now and name players who came with high expectations and failed. I think somewhere, someone is playing with dolls and needles...

I'll ask again, what's the point of introducing Wout ?
It's maddening. You want to bring him on when we're up 4-0 and need to give someone a rest? Fine.

But when we're chasing a goal, bringing him on pretty much destroys any (already low) chance we have of scoring.

We are nowhere near as good as any manager at any level, however we all still known that Wout shouldn't even play for 2mins unless absolutely necessary

These last 2 months have shown that top 4 in PL is his own level.

We're not challenging for the league any time soon.

He spent 84m on a forward player who barely looks PL level alone top 4.

Who is to blame for that?

Overall he's still done a fine job with a deeply flawed squad to have us in the top 4 and competing in the cup competitions when you consider how miserable the team was last season. He's not been perfect by any means, under Solskjaer there was a lot of talk about the lack of patterns of play and I still don't see a particularly identifiable identity to this team (albeit the number of games and the World Cup have undoubtedly made it harder to work on the training ground), we've been bad all season away to good sides and the Antony signing hasn't worked out to this point, but generally he's doing well and hopefully if the ownership situation is resolved quickly enough then he will be given the chance to make additions that are needed to kick on.

Do you truly not understand the implications of the fixture congestion? Can you actually not wrap your head around something so very simple, or have you lost your grip on reality and think this is a game of fecking FIFA. 2-3 games a week for almost half a year and you have the utter audacity to post this. Grow the feck up

He definitely improve team, but will it be good enough? I am not sure. The second half was textbook OGS performance.

He probably could’ve afforded a goalscorer if he hadn’t spent £100m on the world’s least effective right winge r

Notice how the ball retention and passing up front straight up died when he came on. Martial was horrible today but at least he kept a few balls and simply passed them to his teammates.

It's been almost one season and frankly we don't really play any better than we did with Solskjaer. We'll turn up and get an impressive result now and then, we'll squeeze out a few narrow wins after struggling to control the game, and you always get the feeling we're not far away from a thrashing. You never know what team is going to turn up, and even if a a decent version turns up it only lasts for 45 minutes. It's two steps forward and two steps back at this club. Things change without anything really changing. We tread water and never look like making any significant progress to make it to the next level

I like Ten Hag. But we have to be honest about where we're at

I mean you could see the patterns of play in the first half. Shouldve had 2-3 goals easy. Then the usual second half collapse. No idea what to make of it.

 You want people to pretend this is OK?

Yes when earlier in the season people were saying don't get carried away, it will need time etc etc so lets give that time everybody demanded.

The depth of the team has been the letdown as the first team is knackered.

People can’t just trust the process can they? Always wanting change and upheaval. He needs to see the job out of getting top 4, try and get a result in the final then we go again next season.

Funny thing is, that's one of the pathetic excuses people would always use to defend him. "He works hard and holds up the ball well!"

Turns out he can't even do that.

I said this a month ago after the first leg against Sevilla: "The shine has definitely gone from ETH for me. He's not ruthless enough to go for the kill."

I still feel the exact same way. I do think a lot of it is down to the players he has, however you can't excuse the way we keep churning out awful second half performances. You can't justify a club like ours having a goal difference of 9. 9! Our goal difference is closer to Southampton's than it is to City, and they're going to be relegated at the bottom of the league.

 Weghorst again…

Just stop! FFS, Erik, just stop!

This is gonna piss loads off in here, but it’s my opinion - ETH is a Spurs level manager, that’s where he belongs. And that’s not an insult.

Spurs, if we’re honest are a ducking good side generally. But they’re not Utd, and that’s ETH’s level. He’d be a genuinely brilliant match for Spurs.

He might yet go on to step up at Utd and I like him as a character.

Martial was fading and completely stopped pressing. It's not like he did it with 30 mins to go. Weghorst came on in the 85th minute. By that point we were playing for a draw anyway. Wasn't a terrible sub but, it wasn't a great sub either. Probably just wanted a little bit more energy from the front line.
