I think Neville wanted Poch and got mocked when the fanbase wanted ETH. While he’s probably happy now, I got the feeling he had the ‘United went for ETH the flavour of the month and should have hired Poch’ line in the back of his head ready if we continued being bad after Brentford and Brighton.
Depends on the intentions of the next owners I guess. Think he'll stay 3 years then head to Bayern.
I am still not a fan of his in-game management for second halves, and it remains to be seen if he will improve with better players.
However, I enjoy how he allows the squad to play a little looser when appropriate, even though we will attempt to be a little bit more disciplined with ball possession going forward. He does not seem to be too obsessed with ball possession like LVG or even Pep. That might be a good thing for people who find that style boring.

Not really.
But by nature a head coach's job is short term in tenure - I think you should be planning for a 3 year cycle. Who knows who'll be available in 3 years time? Their could be the next Guardiola out there tearing it up, so you've got to be ready to move and capitalise on that too.
I like that he doesn't whine and make excuses. Shit happens, deal with it attitude.

I'm sure I've said before but I don't think Solskjaer was a bad Man Utd manager, he just wasn't good enough ultimately. Played more enjoyable football than LvG or Mourinho but not necessarily more effective football. It's certainly the post SAF era I've enjoyed most.
Having said that, EtH is (unsurprisingly) looking leagues above. He just seems like he means fecking business and knows exactly how to do it. There's a reassurance to that, it's not a firecracker like Klopp where you never know when it's going to go off, there's just this constant, burning intensity to him that seems unshakable, unwavering and if you're in his way, unavoidable. I was dreading Poch if I'm honest, so glad we avoided that.

It's too early to say what he'd be like after he "achieves everything". Pep for example ultimately wants a CL title with City before he leaves and will stay until then you feel like. But you also can't begrudge someone for wanting a new challenge after they've done it all with your club.
I tell you what it’s bloody lovely looking forward to United matches again. For so many years it’s been a chore rather then a pleasure. Something you do out of habit & loyalty rather then excitement or expectation. Erik has changed that. He’s made you want to watch this team. The amount of matches we have coming up could be gruelling for the players but it’s fantastic knowing we get to watch them twice a week for the next few months.

One of the benefits United have over other clubs is that if the manager is successful(Which has really only happened twice) then they tend to get complete control over the club. Which is very rare at a top football club.
It’s probably the most difficult and most rewarding job for a manager.
I don't think you can call him a fan. He managed Bayern's reserves, had a relatively successful time at the club, is still highly rated by the club and he knows he always is a candidate if they search a new manager. So far it didn't happen but a lot of people expect that it will when he is available at the time Bayern is looking for a new manager, so far that simply didn't align well.
I know right! Now I am actually excited to watch United play, I see a team doing things with an actual purpose rather than just running around the pitch clueless. Ole was good too but I never felt like how I feel watching this team play now.
To be fair this was before he became the manager of Manchester United. This time next year we could be in the champions league, new owners and potentially challenging for major honours. I don't see him ever jumping ship. He may take a sabbatical and resurface at bayern, as that seems to be the way top managers operate these days, but I think he'll honour any commitment he's made to the club.

It’s massively unlikely. Relationships between the two clubs are very good and honestly, how many players have wanted to move from United to Bayern previously.
I never got the impression Solskjaer was ever happy with McFred. He played Matic or Pogba at every opportunity in most games. I'm 100% sure he'd have taken Casemiro in a heart beat. I'm not even sure you can give credit to EtH for identifying that given he clearly wanted FdJ more and he's not a 6.
Considering the amount of money he spent and the fact he didn’t sign a single midfielder during his time with us. I think it pretty much indicates he was happy with McFred
He played them loads and signed the likes of DVB , Amad, Sancho etc when it was obvious we needed a 6
