He’s doing such a good job. In every game for about a half you can see the enormous progress we’ve made under him. And usually for the rest our fighting spirit etc are evident. Over the next two years the goal would be to improve on the quality of football but also get that half hour performance to the full 90 minutes.

I think next season we'll challenge if we sign a decent striker.

Takes about a year and few transfer windows to make a team.
I think the core of our team is settled also so major upheaval

Hold on, is this guy a Hag hater?

How possibly could any of our fans have a vendetta against him, after the job he has done, with the circus around him

He could also be a CR7 fanboy who is offended by the way CR7 was apparently "treated"?

Jesus, the worse kind of fan about.

Ronaldo trajectory since crying in the summer and from his interview has been the biggest fall from grace ever, especially with Messi winning the world cup in the middle of it

It's great to know them sort of CR7 fans where crying too

Ronaldo was probably disrespected a bit but he was also trying to make Ten Hag's job harder, it's already hard as it is. Ronaldo had also lost his child recently and he probably needed some time but Ten Hag also had a huge job on his hand to fix the circus of a team created by the Glazers. I respect Ronaldo but I also lost a bit of respect for him because he was trying to make it difficult for Ten Hag.

The manager is the club most important position. Since SAF, we have had Moyes, LVG, Jose and Ole, all of them were disaster one way or another. After appointment of ETH we are finally look like a big club again from the style of play, discipline, fight and even transfer activities look brilliant. It seems now the whole club structure know what we are doing.

He is the one to challenge Pep and Klopp. Finally.

Finally we have a real manager, and not the pretenders. He just passes the eye test naturally, we would have gotten a manager like him ages ago if not for some weird cult of fans celebrating failure and defending the likes of Ole, Jose, etc. to the bitter end.

You can’t put Jose in the same bracket a Ole, Jose actually won us trophies

thank god we didn't go for pochetinno instead

Thank god he did the PSG stint because I think it’s shown he isn’t the manager you’d want at the elite clubs. He’s more suited to the plucky underdog club punching above their weight.

One of the deciding factors for me with ETH was his ability to rebuild his Ajax side despite losing their best players. They were still able to perform well after they lost De Ligt and De Jong. Some managers get lucky and find a formula with players that really works and when they lose those players, that manager turns it out to be ordinary all along.

Pochettino never had that at Spurs because Levy has those players bolted down. If Spurs were still grinding out Top 4s or even winning trophies if they lost Kane, then I would have been impressed.

He did, however, the brand of football and toxicity throughout the club was still pretty poor. He also bought in players who added to that mix and left the club probably in a worse state than when he came.

Don't get this to be honest.

I was Ole in but by the end he had to go. Hag was also someone I was desperate for the club to go get once he went and he's been brilliant in my eyes.

He's the real deal of a manager.

It doesn't have to be the one or the other. Me being ok with Ole staying during that period ain't the reason he hung about. The reason he hung about is he had our best back to back finishes in the league since Fergie retired, it wasn't because of the fans. They hardly going to sack him after finishing 3rd and then 2nd. He literally got binned off months in to following season after finishing 2nd. It wasn't the fans keeping him about. He got rightfully sacked for losing the team and the results sealed his fate.

The reason we didn't get a Hag was because we went for the wrong managers every time. It's on the board, and Woodward mostly. Not the fans.

It’s not wrong at all. You can only get it right when you are sure your call is right. He saw the changes Crystal palace made, all tall offensive players, he then decided to go for five in the back. It worked out eventually.

Palace were always going to direct and all out attack being 2-0 down against 10 men.

Utd were clearly too open and Palace started to get corner after corner, and Guehi even almost scored from one before the corner they did score from.

There were enough red flags for at least Garnacho for Lindelof or Maguire to have been made much sooner.

How long do the well-clued fans here think he'll stay with us? Will he drop everything once Bayern come calling?

:devil::devil:

He just gets it, doesn’t he?
He does, and this is what you want from a manager, total buy in and an alignment in ethos.

To think over the years we've had Moyes who just didn't fecking get it at all, thought he could turn us into Everton, LVG who kind of got it but it was all about him, Mourinho who said we had no footballing heritage and then Ole who got it but didn't understand how to do it. It just goes to show that all you need is a top manager.

When you see what he's done with improving Shaw, Dalot and AWB, you have to wonder what he might have been able to do with some of our other 'flop' signings from recent years.

What if the recruitment people were getting it right in terms of profile only for very poor coaching to contribute massively to their failure.

He's brought Rashford back into form and you'd not be shocked to see Sancho tearing it up before too long.

Why would he? From his perspective lets look at his options.

It doesn't get much bigger than United, so unless he has a life long ambition to manage Bayern, why would he join them or Madrid?

We pay more than most, we have a huge budget and may have potentially unlimited budgets with new ownership, which means we can compete for everything on a consistent basis.

From a coaching perspective Bayern would be a step down if we get to where we belong and he's put all the hard work in to get us there. He'd be effectively starting all over again but with less budgets and up against the mighty spend of PL clubs.

I think the only way we lose him is if we sack him.

I think he would be happy to do a long stint. The PL is the biggest and most challenging league in the world at the end of the day, and United the biggest club in it.

I honestly don't see the appeal of Bayern for a guy like him. It's management on easy mode and the league just isn't anywhere near as competitive as the Premier League. He seems like someone who relishes the fight and the challenge and the strength of English football

He surely has the belief he can win at least one PL and one CL with us. He also clearly has a thing for the club and the way the fans have been, especially our away support.

Similar for Casemiro. Loves it he does.

Fully agree, I don't think it's a coincidence that all these top players at previous clubs have looked bang-average for us when they signed.

I'm fully expecting Sancho to be a different beast for the remainder of this season.

Last season was the worst we have watched post-Fergie, and there have been some bad stints in that time, for this guy to turn it around so quickly is unbelievable.

I have no doubt that Di Maria, Depay, Herrera, Mkhitaryan and Mata would have looked much better under him. I don't think he could have salvaged duds like Fellaini and Schneiderlin though, nor has-beens like Schweinsteiger, Sanchez and Falcao who were clearly too far past their prime when they joined.

I love Ole, top bloke, but a really poor manager. Great interim, though. I'm not really sure what Ralf is/was, or what he actually tried to achieve, but eh, it's fair to say that he was fecking terrible.

ETH is the one I wanted, so I fully expected Poch, which would have been underwhelming. I honestly think ETH has done an absolutely incredible job, considering the utter shit-show that he walked into. It's been a great season so far, especially with Liverpool and Chelsea becoming memes (taking our place).

We've been a joke for years now and it's brilliant that I can finally start believing again. Under Ole, I just went through the motions and didn't really care, as the team wasn't particularly likeable, and it was clear we were going nowhere.

ETH has genuinely shifted the whole mentality and culture at the club, and he's brought about a fantastic connection again between the players and the fans. That has deserted this club for far too long, and it's great seeing it again; Rashford's celebration today was a prime example. ETH has instilled a sense of togetherness, and now we actually have a likeable team with warriors who are willing to give it their all. This season has fully reignited my love for this amazing club.

Now we have an identity, a top manager, a tactical blueprint and a sense of direction. The future looks bright.
 fecking love EtH

Kind of spot on analysis of our managers.

ETH achievement have been great so far. He has done this without a proper striker. Ronaldo already past it, Martial injury prone, Weghorst is Weghorst. This summer we must get him a top striker. Next season our chances for top honours will be much higher than this season.

He had done a great job. I haven't felt that confident about us, since 2011. Even in our last PL victory with SAF I was a bit worried due to how we bottled it in 2012. Since the restart, I m always confident we are going to win. Of course we don't always win, but it's better for my heart to have this mindset

So two questions which striker do you want to sign, however who do you think we'll sign

No way. Premier league is where it's at. This is a man that craves challenge. He's obsessed with challenge.

Bayern is the ultimate in anti challenge

For all the reason I love this guy, the most important one for me is how he managed to help Rashford find the right way again.

Love the bald genius.Hope he will be here for many years.

I'm not sure. I guess Mbappe would be number 1 choice but I'm not sure it's realistic.

Harry Kane for 2 or 3 seasons could be good.

As an Irish person I'd love us to sign Evan Ferguson but not sure he's got the potential to be top class. Time will tell on him I guess.

I don't know enough about Osimhen. To me he looks a bit lacking in technical skills.

I think right now Kane is the most obvious choice but I'm not sure Levy will sell to a direct rival but maybe he has no choice.

I think someone like Benzema or Giroud would be ideal; an all rounder basically. Quick, technical, physical, a goalscorer

Not disagreeing on the first part, but calling Bayern an anti-challenge isn't true. Bayern (along with PSG) simply is a club that demands you to win the league (and yes that is easy) and therefore will measure you on your CL success. Those are the only clubs (maybe along with Real Madrid) were you can win league titles and will still be considered a failure.

That said I definitely agree that he wouldn't leave United for Bayern, but it is still a likely option for him to take the Bayern job when his time in Manchester is over.

And boy did he have a challenge on his hand inheriting this lot after last season. Remarkable work so far.

I could be completely wrong but I just get the feeling he might stay at the club for a long time. Our champions league record is far from matching the true size of the club and that could be a motivating challenge even if he wins domestic trophies.

I rewatched the interview Neville and Jamie did with him before the Liverpool game and I forgot how disrespectful it was. Jamie basically called Martinez a shit signing right to his face with Neville wanting him to attack the board and his own players..

There's something very strange about basing each season on a few knockout matches.

Thank God for the Premier League
