Would laugh if contract negotiations break down because ETH refuses to remove the veto.

Of course that's if the Veto thing is true.

There'll be a break clause in any new contract based on CL qualification I reckon. I'm glad. There were no strong, viable alternatives.

There was likely one in his current contract as well.

feck confidence, no Madrid manager ever feels confident of his position.

Ten Hag had a shite season, and has probably kept his job just about by the FA Cup final result and performance. He should know that everyone at the club is asking serious questions about him and that he’ll need to start next season much much better to remain in charge.
Hardly goes into the transfer window and the season with much confidence. Knowing the club have hardly shown much public confidence in him amidst weeks of speculation.

But I hope somehow it all works out. I have to.

Ultimately I think this is the result of Ineos not having the confidence to make such a big decision without the new recruitment team in place. He'll be under huge pressure as soon as Berrada and Ashworth get here.
You don’t believe they’ve not been part of the process? Obviously not in a way that can be traced.

I won’t believe a word of it until
@TrebleChamp99 our resident ITK confirms it with one of his 2 sources.

Waiting for McKenna to join Brighton too!

McKenna to Brighton
De zerbi is highly rated by INEOS he was earmarked by Barrada at city to take over from Pep whenever he left.

Got told off for posting this last week but told you it came very reliable sources

United and Chelsea no chance.
Brighton it is.

Told you weirdos he's off to Brighton stop doubting my impeccable sources.

Well, I'm glad there's finally a decision made at least. I have major doubts about the decision, but the way most of the fanbase reacted after the FA Cup win made it very difficult to sack him. Realistically, the amount of pressure any new manager would have been under would have made it very difficult going into the new season. I just hope it's the correct decision and we can kick on.

Ok, wasn’t expecting this to be honest but I’m just glad a decision has been made. Not sure that Ratcliffe and co have handled this great but it is what it is, let’s hope they can handle the transfer window better because it feels like a really important one, move on, get your shit together and get the right players in and the right players out:devil:

Next season will be an interesting watch to say the least. Best of luck to him

hoodwinked by one game and the club fell for it .... so the level of expectations and acceptance at the club is finishing 8th with a negative goal difference whilst spending 450Mill

Yes, as long as you win a second rate 'major' trophy, you can finish bottom of the table

ETH won the League Cup and finished 3rd in the league in his first season - the same as the never criticised Jurgen Klopp did this season. This season, ETH won the FA Cup, whereas Liverpool accomplished nothing last season. So, over the 2 seasons he's been our manager, he has outperformed Klopp on balance with an inferior team. Two trophies in two seasons is a decent return given that we can't seriously pretend we're anywhere near being title contenders yet.

Of course the Premier League and Champions League performances have been disappointing this season - the first characterised by too many low intensity performances, the second blighted by too many individual errors. However there were mitigating circumstances, and it's not altogether clear that there is a manager out there who would have done a better job. Did we really want to take a punt on win nothing Pochettino, or Tuchel who managed to accomplish the near impossible feat of not winning the Bundesliga with Bayern?

I hope that ETH now has the authority to get rid of the dead wood and the snowflakes, and replace them with players who can take us forward (our U18 team had a fantastic season). With the right transfer team in place, hopefully the days of overpaying for average players who don't fit in are over. Some of the bad signings are the fault of ETH, but he shouldn't have been the person making those decisions in the first place.

United fans are dumber than Liverpool's. No fanbase is so naive. Ten Hag will never win anything of notice at the club (or in another club for that matter). Next season is pretty much a write-off. And I had such hopes for Ineos.

my old man went to his first game at OT in 1959 with my grandad and grew up watching law ,bobby and everyone since and he wanted ETH to stay , so did i and almost all of the match going lads i know . i trust them a lot more than a cry baby on redcaf . peace .

Right call. Very weak managerial market, and while last season was poor, the first season was good, and there is plenty of mitigation for the season just gone. Ten Hag himself will have learned a lot from last season too.

My main criticism of him is that he just hasn’t really had us scoring enough goals. He needs to find a way to improve the output.

Hopefully they can move on to improving the squad now. A tough job has been made tougher with how it's all been handed.

The amount of slapped arses in here is typical of modern day football fans. What happened to supporting your team through thick and thin
By this logic, is it ever acceptable to want a manager sacked?

Plot twist:

ten Hag to resign tomorrow for having to wait like an absolute tool and being embarrased by the fact the club were apparently happy for Southgate to replace him.
Sure I'm not alone when I say my main emotion is one of relief... the relief of not having Southgate managing this club next season.

I just cancelled all summer vacation plans. I had planned to take the kids to Disney Land, but I just can't enjoy anything now.

I can live with the decision itself, but the decision-making process has been shambolic. Now you're in this weird situation where everybody knows that the club spoke to other options and the manager doesn't have the full trust of the board any more. Yet you still want to sign him to an extension? Not going to lie, that whole process doesn't really fulfill me with confidence in our new overlords.
