Inoes have barely got their feet under the table. They have probably seen the sentiment amongst fans around keeping Ten Hag after the cup final win. So they will be mindful of repeating the sacking of Van Gaal right after a cup final and upsetting a section of the support.

If they are going to sack Ten Hag I think they'll want to let some time pass before announcing it.
This makes no sense to me. The only thing that could be lobbied at them if they sacked him post final was being a bit brutal, the longer this goes on the less in control, well planned they seem, at least in my opinion. (if he is then sacked, I still think this isn't news and he is staying)

By delaying the decision Ineos are undermining ETH position.

With who? A few days won't make a difference to anyone. If they sack him it truly will make 0 difference. If he keeps his job then he will be exactly where he has always been. Being judged season on season by results and how we get those results.

I think they are actually upsetting a lot more people by letting this drag out...

At this point, looks like they have no clue what to do.

We have no DOF because he is still gardening and no one knows if the manager is staying or going.

I guess transfers and new season plans are on hold until we know the manager situation, which means again we are behind the competition for preparation.

Someone up there needs to have a clue very soon.

Review will still mean weighing up what other managers can bring and say at this moment and comparing to what they've drawn up with ETH in these past weeks. Young players might be well onboard with ETH and the manager has talked after the cup win about coming in for a project alongside lots of upheaval and people at Ineos seem to agree. If they don't see much of an upgrade and ETH is willing to adjust with some different players coming in I can see them keeping him on. The club is under a long term big reset so it could be a bit longer.

Looks that way.. we will look at signings in August, so that all the players we sign miss pre season.

Its almost like pre season is used to integrate new players and systems, only at United its not, we use it to get our U21's fit.

Romano reporting there's been contact with replacements in the last few days.

I'm Ten Hag out, and if this is true then just sack him already - its getting a bit embarrassing to leave him hanging for so long not knowing if he's hired or fired.

I think they are not saying anything because there is nothing to say if they intend to keep him. Why release some public statement about our manager when he has a contract just because there is pressure from the outside to do so? Usually clubs only release statements for managerial sackings or hirings.

Would be easier for them to just say it then. By waiting they are causing speculations.

Fair enough.

Aaaany moment now. Waasaait for it. Just arrrround the corner. Juuuuuust about finished. Aaaaalmost there.

Agree, if he does stay now then it's only because they can't find a viable replacment, not that they want him.

It's hardly going to give him much confidence going into next season.

Anyway I can't see anything other than a sacking now.

“..the answer to the million dollar question, is Erik Ten Hag staying or going?

and we will find out…. Right after the break”

If you asked me, hand on heart I'd have to say he's either definitely leaving or definitely staying. Dont ask me who my source is.

If not McKenna I really don’t want any of the others being linked. All sideways moves. There’s no outstanding candidate without major questions marks

Out of interest who would be an outstanding candidate?

I will preface this by saying that my personal feeling is that ETH's fate is already known, and has been verbalized to him, and the press is simply lagging behind in the story because it has been kept airtight.

However, if that is not the case, then it is appalling treatment of ETH to leave him in limbo, not knowing if he is going to be continuing on or not. Regardless of your feelings towards him as our manager, that would be basic decency to not leave him in the dark at a point where a decision should have already been made.

I think that at the end of the day, we just want United to be successful. Whether with EtH at the helm or not. If the United manager henceforth has no say in which players to sign and this is done independently of who the manager is, maybe this won't affect players coming to join us as there would be a plan in place?

Short term I don’t even demand success. I just want it to be fun to watch them again. At least one third of this seasons games have been horror shows where we can’t score, collapse or don’t give a feck.
