Yes and as I said the end of the season changed things so now they have to revisit everything.

Yes but our tendency was to fire managers when they could no longer qualify for Europe. With the FA Cup we have done that. I think it makes sacking him more difficult now.
Our tendency is to sack managers after not qualifying for the champions league.

Moyes got sacked as soon as it was mathematically impossible to get CL football. LVG got sacked for not qualifying, Jose had a terrible start got sacked.

Ole the same as Jose.

ETH is probably getting sacked and it'll be the same because of lack of CL football.

who the feck is this guy
I don't understand this tweet. Who is jroades and who is Jack Fawcett and why is any of this significant?
Who are this pair exactly?
Since Berba seems incapable of explaining why he's posting Tier 0 tweets again, the jroades guy seems to be the Muppetiers fella.

According to Google Jack Fawcett is either the son of famous explorer Percy Fawcett, and he died in 1925, or he's some Twitter nobody with absolutely zero credentials whatsoever.

I have been Ten Hag out for a while now but I feel the way its being played out is not fair to him. Enough time has passed for us to communicate this decision one way or the other. The more we remain silent, more it gives room for speculation and scrutiny.

Complete and utter shambles, we can’t even sack a manager without it being a media circus.

Next year is going to be no different to the last few years, rubbish on and off the field.

Any manager/coach (or executive for that matter) with a good CV should run a mile from the jokers at OT.

Looks like he’ll be staying

I think he'd know if he was staying, surely? It's just a weird situation all around this, never seen anything like it. Imagine being Ineos and starting off your era by sticking with a manager you had to review for 3 months after such a poor season. I'd think even if they had some sympathy for him, they wouldn't stick with him due to the uncertainty around him. If he's just as bad next season, they'll look stupid.

EDIT: Damn I've seen your last post, I took the bait.

Jroades is James Roades who does the various Muppetiers social media. He seems to have good INEOS sources, some decent insight into who United are scouting and processes but perhaps doesn't have the sources that most United journalists have. He has a good track record regarding structure but less so regarding names.

For a long time he has been explaining why Ten Hag is not a great fit for the head coach role that INEOS want to adopt but it is possible that Ten Hag agrees to changes that take certain responsibilities away from him (such as transfers for example). What is not clear to me at the moment is which of the various managers linked to the job, are prepared to accept the head coach role on offer.

That's fair and was true when we were still a Champions League club. We're not that anymore, though, and to rescue an EL place with an unexpectedly dominant win over City might have swayed a few minds.

If he goes, he goes and no one will be surprised. If he stays it's also understandable.

Sounds like he's got good sources in all the areas you can't be proven wrong and could take a good guess at.

Sorry couldn’t help it.

The drama by some in here, and the INEOS thread, is ridiculous though!

Hardly worth stressing over.

So is it Xavi then? As Pochettino would definitely say yes.

Guys like Amorim have been available for weeks before he decided to stay. It’s only Xavi who’s recently became available and he seems hell bent on a sabbatical… so would take some “persuading”.

So it’s a media circus now? Absolute silence the past week, one snippet of something from muppetiers via discord and it’s a circus.

This place is insane.

I was sure Ineos have made their mind up on Ten hag way before the final and thought Ineos delaying the decision post FA cup final win was smart as it would have been too harsh and unprofessional to sack Ten hag like LVG right after winning the FA cup. So I wasn’t surprised and I expected them to make the decision after few days.

But it seems like the FA cup win have either thrown spanner in the works or they genuinely haven’t made the decision and are going through the reviewing process.

Yeah I'm thinking the same.
Was certain they made their mind up months ago.

Maybe they don't want to fire him until they've a new manager lined up.

Hopefully this is sorted soon, it is getting a bit daft. If Ten Hag genuinely doesn't know yet then he must be a bit bemused with the new owners whatever happens.

If it's true that ETHs agency was in cahoots with Goldbridge, then that means Ten Hag or his agency have been slating the players. Because that's the narrative Goldbridge has been running with. I wonder if the players have considered that?

Where the feck does this come from?

Yeah Champions League not the Europa League though.

It’s how the game goes. Manchester United needs to do what’s right for Manchester United first and foremost. Ten Hag will be OK regardless.

You literally played in the CL this season. You still qualify as often for the CL as you don't and every season where you fail to do so is a sackable offense for the manager. Nothing about should change.

It's both embarassing and fascinating to see United fans just accepting mediocrity as new reality.

Look at your revenue, your UEFA coefficient, your history. United still is top 5 to top 15 in Europe in every metric that spans multiple seasons. There is no reason why United should be fine with dropping out of this.

If he's going, you'd think we'd know within the next week or so. If he's staying, there may not be any kind of announcement.
I think there will be an update either way - though it is true if he stays the club would not need to announce anything and possible won't officially, there definitively would be a strong press briefing that the club is backing Ten Hag for the next season.
If he's sacked of course there will be an official announcement.

Either way, we will know for sure soon, the club won't keep it hanging without giving any update (press release or press briefing) on the outcome of this review.

I guess. However, the decision to sack LVG after the FA cup win was criticised widely. This one is not going much better at the moment.
From the club’s perspective, the sooner we can get a new manager in, the sooner we can plan for next season. Anyway, I would expect to hear something soon on this because I don’t think they can remain tight lipped on this much longer.
