There will be a few managerial changes this season. We could lose out on potential targets by dithering. Even if we only get an interim now, at least prospective managers will know there's a vacancy at United.
I’ll be shocked if INEOS haven’t been sounding out potential Head Coach targets since January.

Just had a skim through this thread. The pages during the game were fun

It was nice to see the hardcore ten Hag supporters finally realise he's not the man for the job. I was probably the first person on this forum to express concerns. His first transfer window was already a warning sign for me despite even else being excited it Casemiro, Antony, Eriksen, etc. I said, after the rumours of Mount starting last summer, if said rumours were true, and we end up spunking the majority of our transfer budget on him, he'll have sealed his fate.

Well, we signed him and it sealed his fate. It showed he learnt nothing from the first transfer window, and indicated to me that there was no chance of us kicking on. All the hype in terms of him valuing press resistant players, only for him to spend hundreds of millions and not even sign one. Well, Martinez at his best is good under pressure, but he's a CB. We needed them in midfield and attack but bought a bunch of lightweights.

LVG, Moyes (according to rio), Ralph and Jose all blamed the players. Hell even Ronaldo blamed them. We need these c it's out of this club before another manager is appointed.

The squad is largely comprised of Ten Hag and Ole players - with a few Mourinho artifacts that, Dalot and Rashford aside, are largely here in a limited capacity

Most managers don’t get a whole new squad within 2 or even 3 seasons. In his time here Ten Hag has had investment to reshape the squad that other managers can only dream of.

Horrific manager all season.

Only positive is that he won't be the manager next season. Hopefully we win the final somehow for a good send-off.

Some highlights this season:

- Arsenal (A) - 90th minute winner to win 2-1 gets ruled out and we lose 3-1. Calamity.
- Galatasaray (H) - 1-0 up and dominating. 2-1 up with 15 mins to go. End up losing 3-2 at OT in the CL group stage. Almost unheard of.
- Copenhagen (A) - 2-0 up in the 45th minute then go in at half time at 2-2. 3-2 up in the 80th minute then end up losing 4-3. Complete shambles.
- Galatasaray (A) - 2-0 up. 3-1 up. Draw 3-3.
- Newport (A) - 2-0 up against a league 2 side and they get level.
- Fulham (H) - 1-0 down then equalise in the last minute to draw 1-1. Rather than completing the classic United comeback they go up the other end and score to win 2-1 at OT.
- Brentford (A) - Winning goal in the 96th minute to win 1-0 but still end up drawing 1-1. Genuinely impressive.
- Chelsea (A) - Record breaking levels of calamity. 3-2 up in the 99th minute and lose 4-3. Would be hard to do deliberately.
- Coventry (N) - 3-0 up with 20 mins ago to a Championship side and but for a toenail would’ve lost 4-3.

Genuinely impressive levels of capitulation. I’d love to hear his team talks.

Teams mirror the coach and this shows ETH is a choke artist who panics when the pressure is high. He's losing the plot bringing up our FA cup history and the refs (finally) trying to deflect.

He got the subs wrong but you'd expect to able to freshen things up at 3-0. He and the club are the reason we can't maneuver much in matches with all the huge spending for pretty much nothing for this past two summers and more.
Did you, actually look at the subs we had available?

He didn't get them wrong, he's accused of over-playing 2 teenagers and then is savaged for taking them off with a 3 goal lead and 20 mins to go, he gets a lot of shit wrong but this wasn't a wrong decision today

So depressing list.

ETH's Ajax throwing away a 3 goal aggregate lead on the CL semis conceding a 90+6' goal against Tottenham fecking Hotspur of all teams makes so much sense now.

Wasn't there talk a while ago about some docu-series? Would be utterly fascinating to see what's gone on behind the scenes this season

Amazon have been banging on the door for years but we've always said no. If we miss out on CL money then ffp might force the glazers to reconsider.

This season is United’s worst ever, worse than Moyes. Not only all the losses, when we win we are NEVER convincing and win by one goal margin. His time is up now.

I don’t understand why he’s still in the job - possibly to allow him to lift the cup he’s reached the final, that’s all I can think of. But if the decision to sack him thereafter hasn’t already been made, then we’re in deep trouble. No serious club would entertain such terrible management.

Apparently there is a clause in the contract that if we don't qualify for any European competition then we can get rid of him for free or a bare minimum.

You realize that Manchester United have been relegated, right?

Hyperbole aside, I'd say the Moyes season was still worse than this when you consider that the squad was mostly unchanged from the season before when they won the league.

Next weekend could well have villa guaranteed ahead of us in 4th, as our max points is 68 and they're currently on 66.

The rate at which we rejuvenate our squad is criminally slow.
We still keep half of the players got trashed 0-4 Everton 5 years ago!

And look at Arsenal's starting lineup 5 years ago, almost all of them have left the club

If that’s a decent sum of amount then officially sacking him after would make sense. Would that mean anything lower than 6th?

Ye of little faith, it was never in doubt!

Jokes aside I'm wavering after today, the lack of professionalism shown by the team after we went 3 up was mind boggling and incredibly frustrating. It may have been a total fluke for the 2nd and a harsh penalty for the 3rd, but Coventry should never have been allowed to get into those positions.

I'm still not on board with the caretaker approach, but as I've said before given the new ownership and structure it feels like we'll actually have an approach and a plan and can get a manager to fit into that.

Would you have been Erik out if Coventry stayed onside for the fourth goal just out of interest

I don't think the clause is linked to only Champion League, otherwise that would've been too harsh. This applies for either Europa and CL, has been in contracts of the 2-3 previous managers. England fails to get the 5 spots for CL already, which means that we need to qualify for top 7 (if City win the FA). If we win the FA instead, we will be automatically be in the Europa.

The question of whether we qualify for the Europa doesn't impact whether Ten Hag will be sacked or not, as he will almost certainly be. If we qualify for the Europa, we get some extra income and that can be used to compensate for Ten Hag. If we don't, we get to fire him for free. We are so lucky with this and we should all feel very good.

First United Manager since Ferguson in 2004/05 to reach consecutive FA Cup finals. Those finals was played in Cardiff so it's the first consecutive Wembley Fa Cup finals since 1994.95,96

He should be sacked, but the problem is that players like Rashford will be given another chance again. So many of these players need binning and they won't with another manager.

Yeah they absolutely do need binning, however share your fears that won't happen under a new manager

You can't be serious A Club of United's stature irrespective of our Struggles since Sir Alex's retirement wouldn't be linking anything with Europa league qualification that's Just setting the bar too low even for our Sorry bunch and basically giving them a free pass .

It's always been Champions league qualification once thats become mathematically impossible Ten Hag's payout reduces significantly and hopefully that's the last we see of him atleast in United's dug out .

Yeh I agree, I wish we would just announce that he is leaving at the end of the season. I'm actually worried that Ineos haven't actually made up their mind yet, which would be crazy.

Yeah and the worrying thing is by the time they have we will be left with the managerial scraps left by scousers, Bayern and Barca heck even maybe Chelsea too with how Pochettino performs.

Erikaen in midfield is too lightweight and easy to play through. It’s a poor change, for me, and it’s not like we don’t have other examples of his changes adversely affecting games.

Eriksen looked much more comfortable when we were playing a more possession based style last year. The endless basketball games we are playing now exposes his lack of pace and energy at this point.

The only thing I can think is that ETH is somehow committed to working on something for the longer term. Perhaps, focusing on developing Mainoo, Garnacho and Hojlund or something and doing so knowing that the likes of Eriksen, Varane, Casemiro etc will be moved on.

We genuinely need to just park the bus though. We don’t have the legs for whatever this style is trying to be. Just sit deep, have Casemiro etc cover less distance and then try to hit on the break. Missing the quicker defenders too and having AWB at LB just means we need to play more cautiously.

The late collapses seem a clear indicator that we run of energy because of the back and forth nature of the games too. You need a young team and a full squad to do it and even then it’s prone to fatigue.

We aren’t beating those teams to a candidate anyway.

Who was the last manager to lose two in a row?

This. He has a penchant to throw leads however big it is. He's a serial bottler. We should see the red flags

Howson is so clueless. I'm glad I don't watch him anymore.

To be fair I will usually happily stick the boot into him, however if you watch the vid on his channel even he says Erik won't survive this. If we are talking clueless then look no further than Marcel from Utd View and Brent of course
