Agree - until the DoF and head of recruitment are in place and have spent some time in their roles it doesn’t make much sense to sack him. I think he’ll get this season and definitely a good chunk of next to prove himself.

Im sorry but a midweek fixture away from home with some major injuries, versus a very defensively organized counter attacking side? I'm just expecting us to control the game, create a few big chances and get the job done.
We did that, and we had a lot of positives to take from that.

mams yes you’re right what you say about it midweek game, cup game etc it this was a one off performance, not consistent performance.
Given the circumstances of injuries and state of the squad you have to give credit where it is due. We controlled the game much better than our previous performances and carved out some pretty good chances. If it weren’t for Bruno being shiiite we could have been comfortably ahead. He’s working with a skeleton crew and he had been getting results as of late. Well done for now.
We controlled the game, we had 3x more XG, we didn't let them create any big chances.
It's a bit weird that you're asking to be honest. Before it was "oh this game was boring" and now that I've presented the positives and the context it's "oh but this game is a one off".

Since SAF, we've had Moyes, LVG, Mourinho, Ole, Rangnick and ETH, not all of them were terrible managers when viewed in isolation. LVG and Mourinho had a stellar reputation that preceded them. ETH has a win ratio higher than both of them. All of them have thrown money down the drain.
If you think manager is the problem and sacking people randomly every two years will help, then we'll be in this circus for the next two decades.

It's all just feeling a bit too much like LVGs football, slow, laboured, rigid and boring. Maybe the Dutch style just don't translate well to the English game.
The first half we created some good chances and probably should have been ahead at half time while the last half hour of the game was better controlled than we've often seen of late so there were definitely some positives today despite it being a pretty poor quality game overall (by both sides). It feels like he's auditioning to keep his job for next season and a run in the cup can help improve the mood around the team for the last third of the season but performances will have to be better for us to compete in our upcoming fixtures.
Ten Hag has missed a huge opportunity to galvanise the team tonight whilst putting big pressure on the officials with these key games upcoming. Not on the impact of tonight’s game but for the remainder of the season.

Clear violent conduct - see Casemiro’s red card vs Palace etc. What an opportunity to publicly hi-light this wrong doing, a big psychological impact that could turn in our favour. You can be assured Ferguson, Klopp or Pep wouldn’t have let this pass by even if they had to bring it up post match. We know the BBC were delighted to gloss over it but Erik should have taken this chance to throw some weight. Sadly, that’s another weakness in his skill set as a United manager.

Well that's just negligent on INEOS's part because there is some talented coaches on the market this summer. I'm not gonna lie the fear of missing out is big for me but know others are more patient

There's absolutely no point in doing anything else. He'll be here until summer, then given the "thank you for your efforts" push and we'll have someone new in by 1 July.

Yeah I hold my hands up to being one of those,however that's because I was certain he would play that Ajax style here. Unfortunately he has confirmed that's not going to happen

Let's see what he does against city and the two games against Liverpool. If he can get a couple wins then he might have a chance of finishing out his contract. 2 losses and no chance he should be back next year.
