I don’t know who turns it around as manager, I don’t watch much football outside of United.

It’s quite clear to me though that our team is playing well below its actual capabilities and is failing at the absolute basics. We don’t have a team that can compete for the title but we certainly have a team that should be winning some games with confidence. It’s boys against men right now

Mate these are the same players we've bemoaned for 10 years. The problem is the manager and the problem is very much the players. I'm going to make a list of player in our squad tonight and you tell me if you think Klopp or Pep would have them in their squad after 2 seasons -

Dalot
AWB
Maguire
Lindelof
Rashford
McTominay
Martial
Pellistri
Ambrabat
Regulion

That's 10 players in our squad tonight. 6 of them are starters, over half the team. Do you think any top 6 team has them are starters or do you think Pep or Klopp has them as part of their squad? ETH wanted rid of Maguire and McTominay this summer and obviously the board denied this and now they are starting. I repeat I'm not a fan of ETH but do you honestly think any manager can succeed here with this shit? Ole wanted Haaland and Bellingham and got neither. ETH wanted Kane and KMJ and got neither. The manager is an issue but the board is the biggest one. Martial and VDB still being here after years of being shite is the only info you really need to see how bad the board is. They kept Phil Jones for 15 years FFS. We could get De Zerbi in the morning and I guarantee you that all of us would be calling him shit in 2 years time.

Makes you wonder what he said to them at half time? Because nothing has changed, at all.

Not working out well is one thing but a manager being hired on the basis of modern progressive football playing a shite counterattacking mourinho football after given hundreds of millions is another. That’s why it feels like being duped.
I am just as much at a loss as you as to why Ten Hag decided for this misguided approach. It is very disappointing indeed.

Think it's the price we're paying for having a ridiculous amount of success with one manager for 26 years

We should start treating them as employees of the club who should be moved on when it's clear they're not good enough. If we're lucky enough to find another Fergie, then we can worship away.

The ridiculous excuses we make for managers are crazy. Remember Ole needed '3 years' and like 15 new players to challenge or Jose should have been allowed to sign Perisic and Willian. Our fans are nuts.

and how many of these Newcastle players would pep and klopp have in their team?

I compeletely agree our club is run terribly, but this manager is just not very good at all

So fecking predictable. Ten Hag is to blame for this. Starting second half with no subs was inexcusable

It's only gonna get worse from here with the fixtures we have coming up.

Buckle up lads, it's going to be an interesting Xmas

Newcastle have a clear idea on how to play the game. ETH's side looks like random pub players and this is not a joke, we seem to be tactically inept.

Not being proactive and making changes despite being absolute garbage. What’s the point of a manager if you don’t even react when things are not going well?

As usual, he is too slow to react. This has followed him during his career

One of the worst first halves followed by no change and an obvious goal for Newcastle

Were fecking shite win or lose its 90 minutes of absolute shit clueless football

That Gala performance was half decent but the moment we face decent opposition we crumble.

This United team is sickening to the core

I don't get how he doesn't see that this one midfielder alongside McTominay and Bruno conundrum doesn't work. Mainoo and Amrabat are always lacking support when either one starts. Play them together.

How on earth rashford has not been subbed I don't know.

He must just be waiting for his payout when he's sacked.

opponents are always faster, stronger, fitter, better organised. what do even do in training?

He has no idea what to do. I've seen enough, needs to go.

Many of our fans are still under the delusion that any manager given enough time will magically transform into Fergie.

Talk about putting the cart before the horse. In reality, if a manager is as good as Fergie, he will earn the time.

Today has been huge in terms of a loss of confidence I have in him. It is laughable how bad we are against top half teams. Pathetic performances game after game, pathetic tactics, totally dominated every time we play anyone who is not a bottom half side. He surely can't actually be thinking that these tactics function? I'm pretty over him to be honest and after today I'm pretty much switching away from thinking he'll ever implement something that works for us.

The fact he hasn’t taken off Martial and Rashford yet shows alone his in game management is fecking horrific, it’s reactive rather than proactive.

It's all predictable, isn't it?

We beat dross like Everton and Luton (barely) and we're told we're turning a corner. As soon as we come up against a top 6 team it's business as usual

I said pre-Summer that we need to focus on one part of the team, namely the midfield. get it right then move onto the next area.

We could have stuck with DdG, not wasted the Mount/Amrabat/Hojlund fees & focused on the most appalling area.

We didn’t get Kane so any striker was going to be second string. We should have revolutionised the midfield.
Should have stuck with De Gea, if we did we'd be in the CL 2nd round right now. But we are letting ETH off too easily if we argue that the £60m wasted on Mount wouldn't have helped in midfield if we brought in a properly scouted specialist midfielder to replace Eriksen. The money spent on Onana could have bought a RCB.

We could have spent the same amount of money as last summer and emerged stronger for it but Murtough and Arnold were too weak and indulged a manager so clearly inexperienced in the market.

Every Newcastle player has touched ball atleast once in united box, We have had 2 players touch the ball in theirs

Same here. Nail in the coffin for me.

I can accept the injuries, I can accept many things haven't gone his way. But the tactics? Dreadful. Genuinely appalling. What is he thinking telling almost the entire team to go man to man?

How much Newcastle have transformed within only one year is enough to throw all the excuses for Ten Hag out of the window. People keep convincing us we need 3 years at least to play like Newcastle have accomplished in 1 year.

Surely no one thought we were turning any corner. We had literally the easiest run of games imaginable, and still made hard work of them.
