It's getting to the point now where the only excuse I can find to keep him is the fact that we have deeper issues than the manager. At what point does that stop being a factor though? I mean we're being outplayed by Copenhagen at home ffs...

He got us top 4 and a trophy last season when barely anyone had us down to finish as high as 3rd at the start of the season after the mess he inherited. However the patterns of play we saw last season have gone now. The players have phoned it in.
What patterns of play? Get it to Rashford and hope was all we ever had. Fortunately it worked for a spell.

His transfers have cost him.

At Ajax, he benefited from press resistant players dominating their areas. De Jong dominating the whole pitch at first with Tadic in the form of his life. After that, he had Martinez and Timber stepping into midfield with Alvarez dropping back into defence in possession when they ventured forwards, with Blind and Mazraoui also coming inside and dominating their flanks.

I just don't understand how, bar Martinez and maaaaybe Amrabat if he gets back to his best, he hasn't identified any press resistant players. Yes, we need a DOF, but surely he can identify a press resistant player from a weak one.

I still think our priority should be getting our own Edu before talking about managerial changes, though.

This is really worrying. I was hoping these past two games against Brentford and Sheff Utd would spark us into life but it’s done nothing and we’re stuck in neutral to Copenhagen at OT.

If he goes, some of these players need to be booted out too. There’s a few in there that have been part of more than one tool downing over the years. Entitled, lazy dickheads.

Was a serious question. Many here want Ten Hag gone and based on how poor we are its undestandable so who can come in and do a job with this team?
So the reason for keeping ten Hag would literally be down to a lack options?

The very fact that he alone couldn’t see this as an issue is the problem. You don’t need a director of football to understand basic player profiles and what this side lacks to play possessive football.

It's so bad. But we'll keep narrowly beating teams whose combined value is less than the price of Harry maguire, and delusional people will continue to argue it's all fine, he just needs time and all 25 players 100% fit for the entire season before we can start playing pulsating football

There is no point in getting rid to replace him with someone we don't actually really want. We might as well give him the time to pull a miracle and look for who we actually want in the mean time rather than rush and once again end up in this situation in 18 months. It's kafkaesque at this point.

Amazing to look at this team and the money spent. Dalot, Varane, Shaw, Bruno and Rashford probably in his first 11 and predate his arrival. What have we spent 400m on?

This is just a waste of time. It's clear it's not working and we're delaying the inevitable.

We barely managed to win against two awful teams. What made you think it'll change anything ? It was more of the same, same shit form. Our opponents were just so bad they couldn't survive.

Yeah, he made his number 1 priority Frenkie de Jong when he arrived, yet a year later there is still no De Jong or De Jong-like player, unless Eriksen is supposed to be that. Kovacic was available and would have made far more sense than Mount if buying from Chelsea.

can't blame EtH when guys don't finish off simple sitters....garnacho should have buried his and ffs rashford is a disaster but we don't have anyone who can replace him with sancho in the dog house

Ten Hag is getting his arse saved by Scott, Dalot and Maguire. Absolutely hilarious.

It definitely dampened my enthusiasm of him joining from the off. I honestly thought he'd be the manager to finally prioritise the right style of players. Unfortunately, it became apparent very early on I was wrong.

The closest we've come to is Amrabat who was a last minute emergency loan. And this isn't the same Amrabat from Verona who was similar in style to de Jong. This is the Amrabat who had his game changed at Fiorentina due to the managers there not favouring his risky game of pulling off la pelopina turns in his own half/box and carrying the ball for progression rather than passing, and noticeably dropped down a level because of it.

Mental to blame ETH after watching tonight.

Inexcusable stuff from our attackers.

We must be one of the most non-clinical sides in the league, or at least it feels that way.

now if he sets us up against City in this 4141 formation and leaves our CM wide open....yes, he will deserve some blame as they will rip us to shreds

We are going nowhere with ETH. His limitations are being exposed, every single match. We're awful. Awful.

No consistency, nor structure to our game. His refusal to drop Rashford or Bruno is a joke, and a sign of weakness. Players pick up on all this.

Eriksen changed the game, because he's our best football player. Amrabat didn't deserve to be benched, and where is Mount?

You blame the bunch of clowns who can't put away 1vs1 and even 3vs1 situations.

Is ETH supposed to come in and score himself?
You say this as if we always dominate games, create loads more chances than the opposition but just can't finish. The finishing has been an issue but our general play isn't all that impressive either.
