It falls on the manager if he keeps on rewarding the lazy man-childs with starts. We saw this under Ole, he was loyal to the same group of toxic players and eventually the fans turned on him. ETH needs to be brave, drop the lazy bastards and go with the youth who will do the basics and give their all.

How do you know if these players were first choice? Hypothetically, if ETH or any other manager gives targets for each position and club says you know what we can't negotiate for them because FFP or player has competition from better clubs, then the manager has to either pick a lower quality target which club can afford or let that position not be filled. I am not saying this is what happened, but I am just saying things are not so cut and dry. There would be many factors at play.
This is spot on. All the top clubs have a top class structure from Owner to Manager and we do not. The Manchester United of the 90s and 2000's is gone and the last 10 years, despite wasting millions on stupid contracts and needlessly expensive transfers (United tax maybe) the club has been getting poorer and poorer to the point we are pretty much skint.
It’s not about work rate. It’s about not understanding when to press from which angle and how hard. That’s why we pressed unsuccessfully today. A functioning press where everyone works as a team doesn’t allow the opposition to just play around.

So many rabbit on about the issues 'top to bottom', sure there are a lot of issues, but the manager brought in players he specifically wanted, for a lot of money on big contracts, the tactics, style of play, results, just have not been there overall. A lot of fans wanting to excuse all this because of the ownership hatred. I'd imagine of the Arabs took over by January, same fans would probably be more keen to get a manager in who would spend the money well and have an actual style of play you can recognise.

It may trickle down, I'm ready for that. When the time comes, then he'll go. Now is not that time.
He may turn it round. We have Amrabat, Mount, Varane etc to come back soon, and Reguilon and Hojlund to bed in. And we have a run of easier fixtures to get some points on the board. We're not a bad team, we almost beat Arsenal away a couple of weeks ago but for some bad luck.
And it would be helpful if the club weren't mired in perma-scandal for a few weeks so we can focus on actual football.

Frustrating we are again where we were last season with the saving grace that the fixtures were harder this season. He turned it around last season so for me he still has the benefit of the doubt. His signings are worrysome though.
I went to todays game. The boo he received for putting Martial on when we were 2 nill down felt like a bit of a landmark in our relationship with the manager. It was the whole home crowd basically.

Because the club won't pay 60 or 90m for a player unless the manager insists on it. The easier for them is to move on for other cheaper signings, but they kept on coming back for Mount again and again during the summer.

Exactly. This is not our normal state. Worst injury list in the league, and barely any of our new signings have been able to play.

I never insinuated he bought it into United. I am saying that sancho is a poor example becuse 1) ten hag never bought him, 2) hes a product of the previous regime and 3) ten hag is isolating him from passing on a bad influence to the dressing room, as Pep or Ferguson would have too.
