The ridiculous story of Jimmy Anderson's longevity absolutely needs to have his younger 'understudy' retiring and in the commentary box for his final test.
So true

Broad retiring may help Jimmy tbh, it creates a space for another bowler with some additional pace. The Broad and Anderson duo were starting to come under criticism for being too stale with both at 78-80 mph so. Although that is reliant on one of the bowlers on the periphery of the team actually manage to remain injury free. Its noteworthy that Wood and Woakes are both in their mid 30s too. The seam attack will be completely different in 2-3 years time.
Really hope they both walk out to bat tomorrow. One boundary would be class.
If they could get us to 400 the atmosphere would be so good
There's every chance we declare overnight to not risk them getting bounced by the new ball. Maybe Stokes will let the two legends decide.
I'll really miss Broad, brilliant player.
Was especially brilliant against Australia.
No it doesn't because this Aussie batting line up doesn't have it in them to score 300 let alone 400 in this series, their heads are gone and they are stuck in a vortex of negativity with their anti Bazball default setting. Time to bowl Australia out is what England need, they have been the better side over the last three or four tests.I don’t think that Broad would want them to declare here. He should come in to bat & get a big ovation. Then just come & slog. Every run matters here
Conditions look perfect at the Oval today tbh. Don’t think it’s going to do much to for the seamers. Wonder if there’s any chance we see Moeen bowling
Thought Atherton calling anderson an artist and summung broad up as just a competitor was actually a bit of insult to broad. He's a heck of a lot more than that
If they bat out 5 sessions they'll win anywayLooks like rain after lunch and probably little play. Tomorrow now looks pretty good. But it does mean the Aussies might 'only' need to bat four sessions
They are absolutely still in it. Unusually with a chase in test match cricket, if the bowling side don't bowl the batters out they'll lose. A draw is usually a real strong probability but its off the table here with so much time left.Glad it’s ‘only’ 383. Doesn’t make the game lopsided. Australia are still in it. Low chance but still there
Anderson turning down a single to get off strike...bit of a brain fade there.
London absolutely trash venue for tests. Look at how quiet it is
Atleast we are getting a test and it not pissing down.London absolutely trash venue for tests. Look at how quiet it is

The pitch looks very slow and not much doing in terms of seam or swing all very easy so far
Is Mark Wood injured or something? Not bowled a single over yet?
