English cricket thread

Yea Crawley has been very good, last couple of tests especially. There was a long period where he’d get 40 odd then do something stupid but it looks like he’s learning and growing as the series has gone on.

Expected a cluster of wickets at some point - we need another 100-150. Wont be easy if Mo can't bat properly.

This is the time for the batters to calm down and not chase boundaries. Australia's bowlers have woken up. Just calm down and ease into the game because you need another 100 to win this.

Collapse avoided in that session - England still well placed.

Over rate a complete joke again. England are poor with it, Australia shocking.

11 overs behind is awful, more should be done to cur it out but I doubt it will.

Stokes hit a bad shot and Brook got a good ball, but 250+ up after that session is good, ideally need to get 330+ from here let's hope we can get to that

We've played some brilliant cricket in the last two games. Quite proud of the way they're fighting in this one after the disappointment of the rain thwarting us. On the balance of play Australia really have had a bit of luck on their side.

England have been fantastic ever since the Aussies disgraced the spirit of the game ;)

As predicted by a few of us in here, it really got the fire going. Been by far the better side since. They'll be lucky to escape with 2-2.

Annoyingly, rain is forecast at 70-90% in London tomorrow from 11am onwards and the same on monday.

On what site?

We should be fine until tea tomorrow - and the following day is sporadic showers

(Met office and BBC).

Has the WTC caught on in India then?

For now at least, I genuinely dont think anyone in England gives a shit.
Unfortunately it’s the kind of thing the media don’t pick up on until England are involved. It’s like that for so many sports and it’s infuriating.

I mean - it's brand new, and the media is the same everywhere. Hence I was asking if it caught on in India as I assume they got up for it as they made the final.

Certainly looks a better chance of a result than Manchester. The lead should (in theory) be unassailable by the end of today.

That Root dismissal basically went along the floor (and turned). Second time in two test matches he’s got out to a low one when looking certain to get a big score.

I think Murphy is quite a promising spinner. Kind of reminds me of Swann the way he bundles in with energy and gets good revs on it.
