If Mr. Aguero really is that concerned, why doesn't he spend 0.001 % of his hard earned money covering the costs of helicopters, boats and submarines so that the search can continue?
I understand the high emotions, but really they would be better off funding sonar to search the sea bed. They cannot be alive if the plane ditched in the water, too long has passed and the conditions would have made it virtually impossible. It’s understandable for people close to him to be in a state of denial. It’s a tiny plane in a big body of water, the wreckage is most probably at the bottom of the Channel. I sincerely hope they can find it so his family and friends can have closure.

I appreciate your positive sentiment, but I do think Aguero is misguided here. He is putting thoughts in the families head that maybe enough hasn't been done and if he isn't going to put money in then frankly he is only making things worse.

Annoys me too the coast guard can’t search forever, if he was so bothered he’d put his money where his mouth is and pay for search parties to continue. A weeks wage could fund the search for as long as he wants.

Well with JFK Jr it took them 5 days to find the bodies and they were still strapped in hence the bodies not floating. Took real sophisticated equipment to find them at the bottom of the sea as well.
Very very sad, but at this point calling off the search is probably the right call.

I thought the point of people saying to keep searching is that they think he’s still alive? They can find the wreck for sure, the plane is small but then again the channel is smaller than the North Atlantic. I’m fairly confident that if they hire a ship to search for the wreckage using sonar, they’ll find it. This may well be the next step since both pilot and passenger will have been strapped in.
like maybe they landed on a tree which broke their fall perhaps? so long as the bad news doesn’t break, there’s always hope.

I know Britain sent two, one from Newquay and that is a fair distance to travel and the range on the helicopter isn't huge, I'm only guessing because I've worked with search and rescue but I think they only would of had an hour or so search time before requiring fuel.

Search is not just about the money, they might also need those people and resources to perform other activities. There is no hope here.
Sophisticated, but pretty standard these days. Most of the time they'll either have hull mounted hydrographic equipment for bottom profiling or they'll just get equipment they can mount on the side of the vessel..If they know roughly where to look it's "easy".
The worrying bit here is that they'll need a bit of luck to actually find anything, unless they eventually float onshore somewhere.
