Gaming Elden Ring - Fromsoftware

I’ve gone back to Alecto multiple times now and feck me he is impossible. Barely take any health out of him and yet I just took out Morgott in 6 hits.

A good shield and a lot of stamina does the job. As long as you can avoid his jumping attack you should be good.

He(She?) is well worth it though. Gives you the best spirit ash in the game bar none.

Better than mimic tear?

Anyway to beat him I played very defensively, backing away all the time and two handed the winged scythe. When I played this way I did it second try, before i was aso getting rekt very regularly.

A bit late to the party but I took down Godrick last night on what felt like my 20th attempt.

I was a squishy level 26 astrologer, with base gear but for the +0 demi human staff so I’m going to call it an achievement.

I went in with 5 focus potions and no health potions as I needed all the focus top ups and then a couple of shots from a cross bow to finish him off managed to do it only getting hit once in the first phase so my arse was twitchy as hell in P2 as I had about 5% health and would die if he sneezed on me.

Level your equipment man, you should of by now. Fair play though.

Yeah I am going to from now. I didn’t mean to end up at the castle I’ve just been super chilled exploring the open world up until now.

I've done him a few times with different builds, he's an enjoyable boss. At first he felt maybe a tad easier than Margit so I wasn't overly impressed, but having done him a few times now there's an enjoyable rhythm to his attacks. Rolling forward under his leaps, strafing left and right with his wind attacks, closing the distance to his dragon breath or remembering the dodge pattern for his 5 big swipes etc. There's a few bosses in this game where it looks like there's a lot going on, but really you're just doing the same roll again and again, but this guy forces some actual variety in your game.

Yes, by a large marigin too imo. Mimic tear har great stats but is kinda "stupid" in the sense that it will walk right into a huge attack time and time again and is imo pretty useless against the later bosses.

Tiche on the other hand, constantly dodges around like an arsehole and throws some kind of debuff (Bloodflame?) that does thousands of damage and works instantly on pretty much everything

Black Knife Tiche is slept on, for me she's the strongest ash summon in the game after the mimic nerf.

You could also consider Eleonara's poleblade if twinblades are your thing. Basically arcane bleed builds are the new broken meta, so any one of RoB, Eleonara's poleblade or Mohg's sacred spear is filthy right now. I wouldn't be surprised if they're next for the nerf hammer. Bear in mind you'd probably need to respec to pump up your arcane to get the best out of them.

Alternatively if you're feeling like dabbling with some faith, the blasphemous blade is being seriously slept on. It does a huge amount of fire damage and heals you everytime you use the weapon art or kill an enemy.

Beat the Fire Giant third try. Once you learn his moves it’s not too bad. Kept my distance on torrent and had to take a few hits from the enormous shield but I held back my summon until the second phase which really helped distract him whilst I went for the wrist.

Just beat the head of RedCafe.

Held off on throwing the maiden in the fire. Is that right to do for now?

yeah there's a big optional area you can do now that you've gotten the other half of the secret medallion off him. i haven't even gone near fire giant yet.

The giant hands are the worst enemies in the game for me. Their attacks are relentless. Once you’re caught in it you’re fecked.

The Tree Spirit bosses are just shit game design. Giant creatures randomly thrashing around a small arena. There is no skill to it. You just keep smashing and hope you hit it.

They're easy once you figure out all you have to do is dodge to the side of them, and then get behind when they do their butt slam.

Yeah their moves are easy to learn, but anytime they're in a small room it's damn hard to actually see what they're doing.

that Death Rite Bird in the consecrated snowfields is insane. Absolutely nuts. Just one shots and crazy range on its AOE. Can't beat it.

EDIT: Feck me, finally. that was horrible. toughest boss so far.

You can still progress if you want, you can backtrack as much as you want afterwards. Some NPC quests break though but I couldn't name a single fecking NPC so who knows what.

Dont mean to sound smug but fire giant only took me 3 tries :nervous:

Cant keep up with the horse at all..

I still have zero clue what's actually going on in this world. Nor do I give a feck.

Just 100 % this bitch. Great game. Not a 10/10 though. Legitimate criticisms can be made of some things like the repetitiveness of certain bosses and areas but just an all around fun from soft experience. I do think the summons made things a little too easy, allowing you to smash the shit out of the bosses while they are targeting the other guy.
