I suspect it's because he was bought by the owners without the input of Solskjaer.
perhaps if we get ten Hag Donny will be able to play his best for us.

Enjoyed that. Good to see Donny get a 90 mins under his belt. Played as a 6 in a midfield 2. First half he was the best player on the pitch. Tired a little around the 70 - 80 min mark and then dug deep to finish the game. Good match and happy for the lad
To be expected when he didn't play a full game in, how long? That's good going for someone who trained here.

Yeah Joel Glazer totally forced Ole to sign Donny.I suspect it's because he was bought by the owners without the input of Solskjaer.
I'm rooting for him. Half of my family is from Liverpool so always had a soft spot for evertonIndeed. I hope he does well. I'm still bemused the lack of minutes he got here considering the hole we're in.

The Glazers are students of game and probably huge fans of the history and system in place at Ajax.Yeah Joel Glazer totally forced Ole to sign Donny.

Oh look, he can play no6. Wow, who would knew that?
Yup. Along with Amad and Pellistri. Joel was surfing YouTube compilations and saw those viewing numbers.Yeah it was one of the Glazers' 'commercial signings'.
The world famous Ajax footballer, Donny Van De Beek.
May be he was too busy sending dick pics to his female colleagues.Marc Overmars for one.

If ETH comes in as manager, Donny will be a starter at Utd for sure. With Pogba off on a free. We are left with Bruno, mcfred and matic in midfield. If a player of donny's quality cant get into that midfield then utd deserve another decade of dross.Maybe they'll buy him, might even get close to our money back if he does really well.
No doubt that's the main intention for his loan.

He's so happy to be playing football he even does a no look pass ffs!
Probably not a complete every-single-touch compilation but it's pretty much what I've expected of him. Absolutely madness we couldn't have integrated him into the team or given him more minutes.
Herrera would walk into this team and transform our midfield.Very good performance! Reminds me of Herrera in a way when he plays that role.
Think he thrives with hard workers around him and he’s the quality, whereas with us it’s quality and no hard workers.Good compilation there, keeps it simple and keeping the ball moving. So bizarre we never gave him a chance.
He can start as a rotation player but is he going to start ahead of Bruno? No. One of McTominay and Fred will start. And now Pogba is back.
You think you're so righteous and just dismissing anything objective many people and mostly myself, have said.
Donny's situation at utd sums up what a mess this club is in. 10 years without a major trophy,

Unfortunately it's also Fred and mctominays level. Also pretty confident they wouldn't touch matic with a barge poleThe thing with Van de Beek is that Everton is probably his level. Will be nice to see him play as an 8 properly and not be asked to be a 10... But for United's needs, he's not the sort of player we need as our 8. Regardless how he does. He can be a good player but the wrong player stylistically for our needs.

Some of the comments from Everton fans on Guardian match report.
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/feb/12/everton-leeds-premier-league-match-report
"Donny must have surprised a few people with the fight he showed"
"That Dutch lad in Everton’s midfield, Donny something… Manchester United could really do with a player like him."
"How good was Donny? I reckon a good run of games, he'll be absolutely fine, and yes, everyone will be wondering why United couldn't make good use of a player who can make repeated five-yard passes to work the ball out of trouble and up the field.
I really hope he does well."
" Donny van de Beek was brilliant. A shame that he is going back to Old Trafford in May."
" Donny was plugging holes in the middle" of the park in the first half, and allowed allan to go up, confusing Leeds even more.
In the 2nd half Donny was parked in front of our 2 cbs and played vacuum cleaner to a T. Again, to aid the guys up front attacking. They always knew if a ball was lost, Donny would pick it up, or force it out wide, with or without Leeds player. He was fantastic. Absolutly amazing."
" I must say, Man Utd must have some tremendous players in midfield to be able to keep Donny vdB off the pitch."
As mentioned in my last post .. i just don't see the point in us taking him back next season. He's rightfully behind Bruno, Pogba and Fred in the pecking order for #8 or #10. He's not a #6 so no point in comparing McTominay right now. Next season Pogba will be gone but surely we'll look to buy a midfielder who can actually control games with their passing and be an assertive, dominant midfielder? Van de Beek's best case next season is we ignore buying a midfielder again, and he rotates with Fred and midfield remains an issue for us.
The problem is he wasn’t a rotation player, he was back up to the back up player in how much he played. Four league starts in 18 months? Less than 90 minutes in an entire league season? They’re the minutes you give to an 18 year old academy player breaking through not a £40m player that played in the CL semi final.
God forbid we would give Donny a chance whilst our magnificent team puts away the likes of boro, Burnley and Southampton. Oh waitFeel like people are desperate to say he was great yesterday given his treatment at united and our current midfield problems
Yesterday's performance was okay but nothing to show he can break into our current group of midfielders (low bar as we all know). He showed decent composure and good 1 touch short passing ability which we know he has in his locker. But that's not enough on its own.
From what I could see he isn't a big presence in the midfield defensively, the intensity of the game seems a bit above his level. Would like to see a more diverse passing range aswell ideally to make up for the fact that he is not the type to drive the ball forward himself.
