Television Doctor Who

Yeah I liked Clara but the involvement with Pink just killed it. If this was down to Moffit then surely he needs to be told to pack his bags?

Can't we campaign to get the original creators of Dr Who back in (that young Indian bloke and the lady)? Surely they would want to be re-involved with their 'baby' at some point before popping their clogs?

I'm not saying scrap the old enemies and stuff, but you can't deny Daleks and Cybermen look ridiculous. It would be good if they introduced a new recurring enemy, something that doesn't look so stupid.

Well that complete shit, I said it before but I'll say it again, Moffat needs to piss off now.

Missy was the Joker. Pinkman is the worse thing to happen to Doctor Who alongside Clara. Not even sure why I keep watching this show, the writers are so delusional it's unreal. I mean they think the audience care enough about Pinkman to be emotionally attached to his character?

I thought the vast majority of this series was abysmal.

Didnt like the Doctor. Didnt like Danny Pink and his homoerotic sommersaults. Didn't like most of the stories, too silly.

But I thought the last couple of episodes were fairly good considering you have to work with the above. I wish that they'd aim for higher standards.

But he was in the show for 3 or 4 episodes!

I cry myself to sleep at night

 @Ekeke I just saw your post. Why don't you like the new Doctor? Capaldi is a good actor, but he has nothing to work with.

Or stop using recurring villain's all together, its getting ridiculous now. They have no ideas to end a season, just use the daleks/cybermen or the master.

Nah, I do enjoy the occasional recurring villain. They're just overused now.
I needed to iterate that, use them less and create more villains. Missy's reveal would have been better if it were the Rani or even Romana as some crazy version of herself. Or you know have a missy who is a villain. I thought it was stupid, and I saw an article saying Moffat wanted us to believe it was the Rani, so I guess that was to cover up his shitty reveal?

I don't know who they are :(

Jesus christ, you call yourself a Whovian?!!! Romana was his female timelord companion when he was Tom Baker in the late 70s early 80s and the Rani was a female timelord villain during the Sixth and Eighth doctors tenures.

But I thought The Doctor was the last Time Lord?
Evidently not, the Master is still around. Also his granddaughter should still be alive because she left him for a man she fell in love with on Earth in 2150 AD. Plus we all know gallifrey is in some time vortex shizzle and the time lords are alive and well within it.

But...but...he's the last Time Lord!

Really not sure what to make of that last episode. It was superb in parts but absolutely ridiculous in others.

Personally I disliked the previous season as well as the Donna Noble season, but this season stinks too. But the thing that grates me about this season more than any others is that they had 2 great lead actors in Capaldi and Coleman who from an acting point of view have been very good all season despite the story and I feel they have wasted their talent. Now that Coleman by the looks might be going, they will find it hard to replace her who for me has been one of the best companions since the reboot all those years ago and were very lucky to find her after Karen Gillan's success alongside Matt Smith.
Coleman is not a great actress, Capaldi is good though. Also did not rate Karen Gillan either

Crucially though, the majority of people would agree that it has always been pretty shit.

Well indeed. Though I think we can all agree, this was it's peak.

If only Steven Moffat had invented a Curly Wurly monster, or maybe a sinster version of the bear on the Haribo packets, perhaps he'd be more appreciated.

I can imagine it now. He creeps into houses at night, like an evil twisted Pudsey, and poisons whole families with a psychadelic toxin, distilled from pure sugar, that causes a euphoric hallicination so great they forget to eat and waste away. All the while he feeds off their life force, and as they die he sings in an off key, eerie tone "Kids and grown ups love it so, the happy world of Haribo"

Actually that's quite good.

And then, after 30-35 minutes of build up, the entire episode is rounded off when the Doctor realises you can just not eat the toxin and wraps the issue up in about 5 minutes.

Sorted!

Was just a bit of craic though sure, Christmas and that.

I thought last night's episode was Clara's last episode on DW? I swear I read that but hey clearly not. When the Doctor offered his hand to her at the end, I was like "ah so here is when she says no and stays". I actually thought she was just going to enjoy living in the dream world with Danny. But nope, there we go.

It was an OK episode.

She decided to stay on longer.

Only recently ( the last 3 months or so ) Gotten into Dr Who, with the nipper and we have a recurring row over the best Dr, Christopher Ecclestone or David Tennant........whos right?

Ecclestone is the better actor, but Tennant had the longevity. There are reasons for either being the best one, but I like both a lot so I'm pretty impartial. I really would've loved to see more seasons with Ecclestone, he's an outstanding actor. At the end of the day, both are infinitely better than Smith.

Id agree with that although I do like Smith as well, Ecclestone edges it for me as he is more angry and has that fire about him, whereas Tennant is not so much.
