Television Doctor Who

I am just getting the EP to watch it.

It's also worth mentioning ...
Think about what this episode taught us about the TARDIS. It's infinite. It has a machine that can make anything. The TARDIS doesn't always take you where you want to go, but it always takes you where you need to be.

The TARDIS is sentient.

So if the Tardis has a machine that can make anything and the Doctor knew about it, why has he had a million crisis where the shit was hitting the fan and it looked like there was no way out and he never used the machine?

Brilliant.

The idea of the tardis being "infinite" is infinitely shite.

Brilliant.

We've already had it mentioned that rooms disappear and appear again in the TARDIS.

This wasn't, there was a decent portion on the salvage ship.

BTW. The Dream Master was entirely on there.

You mean the episode titled 'Amy's Choice' with the Dream Lord who turns out to be some sort of dust from the TARDIS?

If you do, that was a brilliant episode but I'm sure they didn't film that entirely on the TARDIS as there was the dream world where Amy is pregnant and living with Rory and they get attacked by the old alien people.

Have we also heard the line about "Damn I wish that room that appears and reappears with the machine that can make any other machine would be really handy right now!" ?

No of course not. Because they just came up with the room that has a machine that can make any other machines. It wasnt planned out, it doesnt make sense, but they thought hey it sounds like a good idea so lets throw it in. I'm sure we'll now see it create a machine thats amazing and saves the day... Like it should have done hundreds of times before if it existed before last week.

Yeah that one.

It was set entirely on the TARDIS though, they never left it.

I spent the majority of that episode just staring at clara's legs as she ran away from everything. She's making it really hard to concentrate on the actual storylines.

As for the show, the last episode was a huge improvement from the rest of the series imo. And for all this 'the show will never be the same' stuff, doesnt Moffat always make these huge statements every series, that usually end up being quite underwhelming?

Disappointing episode IMO. No progression to the overall story and it wasn't as interesting as last week's episode. The Thomas Thomas (TomTom) joke was good.

There are only 2 episodes left and there are still so many questions about Clara and the GII, who haven't been mentioned since episode 1. Unless they plan on continuing this over to the next season, I'm worried we'll get a rushed explanation about everything and it will be a big disappointment.

I wonder who has out up those old pictures of Clara?

Next weeks episode is written by Neil Gaiman.

The other episode he wrote for Doctor Who was brilliant. I'm hoping this is as good.

However, I don't think there has been much progression to the overall story since episode 1. We know a bit more about Clara and her personality but still don't know what/who she is and who the GII are.

There should be 4-5 more episodes for this season with Clara in it. That is unless Moffat is planning on continuing the search for what/who she is to next year. I just don't want another quick and convenient ending to the season as we've had before with Moffat.

Don't you guys think he will find out on the 50th anniversary episode? I quite enjoyed this episode, I really like the doctor not knowing something for a change.

The EP this week was a bit weak, poor story and poor ending.
I wonder who put the picks of Clara on the laptop.
Next weeks looks good, Cybermen and the Doctor looks like he has been taken over by the Borg.

Crap episode, made even more disappointing by the fact it was written by Gaiman.

The girl was fecking annoying, I was hoping she would die. The whole chess 'fight' was boring and didn't do much other than confirm the Doctor is meant to be 'dead' (as happened last season). And once again we have another quick-fire and convenient ending in an impossible situation.

Also, if the Doctor managed to take the kids on an adventure this time, what's stopping those annoying brats from blackmailing the Doctor in the future or telling their friends (if the twats have any)?

With next week meant to be the greatest episode with the biggest reveal ever, I can't help but feel very underwhelmed with this season.

Yeah, I didn't really enjoy it. This season has probably been the worst so far for me. Even if they do pull something out of the bag in the final episode they've disappointed me time after time. A shame too as I think Clara is the best assistant they have had in a while.

I enjoyed it, it was nice seeing a dark side to the doctor's acting. I agree with the sudden ending, yeah lets just blow the planet up that will solve everything.

I quite liked the blowing up the planet idea, the cybermen needed an update. Bit boring though, i agree. Also a massive plot whole as, if theyd decides to blow up planet at start they would have been teleported away and more humans would have been saved.

They've posted a prequel clip to the the finale next week:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p018wbj2

The clip was more interesting than the entire episode from yesterday.

My theory on Clara:

She's not human, or if she is human she's not a 'normal' human.

Either she's been created by the GII to kill the Doctor or River is linked to her in someway and she's been created to save the Doctor (something she's already done). I'm probably completely wrong.

This has been such a crap series. Which is a shame, as I actually think the chemistry between Clara and the Doctor is really good. They've just had terrible scripts to work with. I'm 99% sure next weeks ''greatest episode' will be a real let down, and the 'reveal' pointless and rubbish.

I think maybe the series should take a break, and hopfully work on some better ideas, and then come back with a new series maybe in a year or so? Which will hopefully be a lot lot better. Because atm, all the strories just seem to rushed, they feel like they've all been put together with real time constraints, and it shows.

Aha! I see you've noticed how TV series work. You crafty devil.

I thought that Episode was rather good to be fair!
You miserable sods need to remember it's fantasy fare aimed primarily at a family audience and not just for Sci Fi geeks.

I think next series will be better, i think they made a mistake splitting it into two parts, and having companions change half way through. Trying to cram two story arcs into half the episodes really.

That argument would work if we really knew anything new about Clara at all.

I agree with you, they dragged on the Rory/Amy story. All that bullshit of them divorcing and having those jobs, no need for that. They could have maybe done the whole thing in 2 episodes max and then move on to Clara.

Well, that divorce episode was pretty good though and actually introduced Clara (or Oswin in that case). I still think it was the most entertaining and by far best written episode with Clara/Oswin so far despite that awful divorce idea. The next 3 episodes were really unnecessary, I agree.

I don't think it's because they dragged out the Amy/Rory story though, the writing in this series is just not as good as before. I don't think switching the companions earlier would have helped. We probably would have seen Clara instead of Amy/Rory in the Wild West fighting some stupid half-men-half-robot-alien thing and it wouldn't have made much difference.

You're right on the episode but that whole divorce thing was just so unnecessary and seemed completely out of character for both of them.

Rory and Amy have been on this amazing adventure since they were children, they grew up with their daughter as their friend, they've travelled the earth and space and back and forth I time, he was a centurion who guarded and waited for her for 2000 years and then as soon as the doctor leaves them they get divorced. Didn't make sense to me, and I felt it was really slow how the doctor kept going back to them every few months or however long it was whenall this time we've been used to them just being there with the doctor. To me it took the flow out of it and really slowed things down.

Apparently Amazon in the US have sent out the blu rays of the season out a week too early, has anyone seen any torrents of next weeks episode so I can report it to the relevant authorities?
