One slip aside in the first half, a very promising debut. Looks calm and assured, gets forward at times and also looks a capable defender. Looking forward to him and Shaw establishing themselves as the first choice FBs hopefully.

Agree with all the positive comments above. Was very impressed. He’s a young player who will have ups and downs, but at least he’s actually having a go. More attacking threat in this match from him than we have seen from Valencia in three years. Didn’t think he would start, so credit to Jose. I want to see him play a lot more for us. Good debut.

He seemed quite vocal on the pitch, was confident on the ball and seems like a leader. Those are all things we lack across the board.

Yeah if possible give him a sub appearance against Wolves, then start him against Derby in the League Cup.
He’ll get games. He makes us look far less lop sided than we do with Valencia there because he’s not afraid to overlap, take on a man or get an early cross in. Mourinho really likes balance across the team and it will be hard for him to ignore.
Now we just need a genuine right winger ahead of him. I would personally always start Mata there now because at least he is capable of seeing his overlaps - so many times I saw him running and Rashford just ignored him.

Brilliant performance, he's a much better upgrade on Valencia
Started like a mad man up and down the wing, burned himself out a little, but very impressed with his athleticism and enthusiasm plus what looks to be solid technique and ability to take a man on. His whipped crosses are highly difficult, trying to hit them with so much pace guarantees a few will soar long but equally very hard to defend against.
Keeps things very simple which is very impressive for his age and being at this stage.
Thought it was just me thinking this, really thought he got beat way too easily at times.

One game against a pub team and he’s much better player than Valencia. Ok, sounds about right. Rawkish to say the least.
Yeah, but he just played his first competitive minutes for half a year or something. All things considering, a very good debut.
Can't form opinions too early, but he looks like a talented and confident player for sure. Interested to see how he develops.

I love his confidence. Can't believe he's only 19. It's his debut for Man Utd and he didn't seem to have any major nerves at all.
He's going to feck up a bit going forward but I hope people are patient with him. He's definitely got enough for us to be patient. Needs to work a bit more on his defensive game but no doubt he won't be slacking in that department with Mourinho being his coach.
