Dimitri Payet | Joins Marseille for £25million

His corner kicks alone are worth £10m.

Any time it even remotely makes sense to reference some of Fergie's more ridiculous quotes, someone should grab the opportunity to do it. This and the "he could have been killed!" quotes are two of my personal favourites. Well done!

Swap him for Anderson and West Ham can still pretend to fans that they haven't sold him.

Are subs not allowed anymore? Do goals from set pieces not count?
Bayern has enough impact subs and for set pieces they have the likes of Alaba, Alonso, Lewandowski, Thiago, Robben, Vidal, Ribery, et al.
Payet is just a tier too low for them.

He's a brilliant player. Wouldn't mind seeing a cheeky bid from United for him. Let him teamup with our frenchies and we would see the best of payet I'm sure.

Give West Ham £15 million upfront and Memphis and TFM (purely because he's not getting much gametime at United) both on loan for the rest of the season.

Might as well take advantage of their desperation for players. They get rid of 1 and get 2 back + cash to buy a new player with

Agree to disagree then. Costa and Coman are inferior to Payet. Robben and Ribery are both on fire, but it's a long season and they're getting up their in age. It'd be insane to rely on them too much.

Might have to agree with you regarding set pieces, but that being said, Payet has a tendency to heat up and bang in 3-4 goals from FKs in a few games.

That kind of transfer is like Wenger style. Definitely will get rejected right away. They put £60m price on him last summer. What makes you think the price will go down drastically during winter?

Payet deserves a better club. He should have leave West Ham last summer but he remained loyal, and now he knows that West Ham is pretty much can't give him what he wants, so he wants to leave. Same story like RVP. I hope he doesn't join any of top 6 clubs apart from United. He's a quality player and definetly will give a massive boost to his new club.

Looks like he's the next player heading for China. Leaked image doing the rounds:

I don't think I'd ever want to sign player that refuses to play for his club.

:lol: either English isn't your first language or you are having a laugh  in what world is a player who refuses to play for the club less than 12 months after signing a fat new contract loyal!?!

Because why would they want to keep playing and paying a player that has made it obvious he doesn't want to be there anymore

West Ham are desperate for players in their depleted squad losing 1 that doesn't want to be there and gaining 2 more than capable players in Memphis and TFM plus cash to buy someone else Is surely a positive for them

I don't think I'd ever want to sign player that refuses to play for his club.

To be fair to payet he's waaaaaay too good for West Ham. He knows he can play for a better team it'd be pretty cool seeing him link up with martial and Pogba. I don't want to see him join any of the top 5 in the league as he could make a huge difference

As much as I don't like West Ham, this is pretty shit from Payet. He's acting like a spoiled brat, as he only signed a new long-term contract a few months ago.

Fair enough he wants to return to Marseille, but the players have way too much power and it's becoming fecking ridiculous.

You can be as miserable as you like, but you can't just refuse to do your fecking job, especially when you're getting a truck load of money every single week.

He said he loved the club less than 6 months ago

Payet has been lied to...he's 29, better then WH and the owners have been promising to buy players and haven't.

I don't blame him.

People need to look at the owners, and Billic throwing him under the bus is an attempt at keeping his job because Billic has been lied to as well.

Why didn't they just pay up for Defoe? But they want to offer £3m for Snodgrass?!!?!!

Payet needs to get out of a sinking ship. Cause them owners are in it for the money.

I like Billic...don't like WH and there owners.

He is having a better season than you think. This season he has created more chances than any one else in Europe. Whilst playing in a team with shocking form

Agreed. He'd help Juve, playing as a 10 or LW. Maybe also Atletico Madrid as a 10 or wide midfield option with Gaitan going the other way or hastily sold to finance the move. Dortmund don't buy old guys but I bet he'd help more than Schurrle now that their young wingers look ready to play. Not sure who else, but he's got skill and can create chances from 2 spots and obviously take set pieces well. Gotta be a market for that.

Why the hell is Sunny Narine in the picture? I just saw the bloke the other day playing for the Renny's.

This is smart business strategy from the Chinese clubs. These players that are entrenched in the system won't go for big dollars unless they have to, but Payet would be getting payed (at the Hammers) a fraction of what somebody with his talent could earn in China. If nobody in Europe wanted him, would be silly to turn it down.

Payet's a disgrace, if West Ham do sell the immature ass I hope he fails massively.

Whatever people think of West Ham he is their players and the manager, his teammates, the club and especially the fans deserve much better than this.

I was suprised he didn't leave in the summer. He gave them a chance to kick on and they've become a sinking ship, don't condone his refusal to train but you can't blame him for wanting out.

Apparently that's exactly what Bilic is doing.

According to him, they're not selling him and he's not playing or training until his attitude improves.
Seems to be two very different stories about this: the first was that he wants a transfer and that Bilic 6as subsequently dropped him and not let him train with the first team just like we did with Schweinsteiger except also refusing to sell him, the later narrative is that Payet is refusing to play or train. Which is the truth? So many condemning him when the narrative isn't even clear yet.

Are you just making that up or do you have actual proof to back yourself up?

According to whoscored he has more key passes than any player in Europe. How they collect their data, I’m not sure. There is some variation compared to Squawka, for example. Not that stats ever tell the whole story, but still...

According to Squawka he is right, in the sense that he has created the most key passes in the top 5 leagues.

Some more developments in the Dimitri Payet story from Sky sources...

  • Payet is refusing to play for West Ham because he wants to move back to Marseille.
  • His agent will hold talks with West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan today.
  • Payet hasn't trained this week because he says he has a back injury.
  • West Ham paid Payet a £1m loyalty bonus in September.
  • Payet told Slaven Bilic he did not want to play in the FA Cup game against Manchester City last Friday.
  • West Ham did not receive a single bid for Payet last summer.

Don't blame him. They've showed the least ambition out of any team in the premiership. Payet should've pushed a move in the summer.

A fair bit of wrong end of the stick seizing here. Payet wants to leave West Ham to return to Marseille,
he's not looking for a transfer to Utd, City or any other English club. If Lyon, Monaco or PSG put in an acceptable bid I'd guess he might entertain that but what he wants is a return to France, preferably somewhere with a Mediterranean climate. He thinks OM have offered West Ham enough...which they obviously haven't but they probably promised him whilst tapping him up to offer 40 million € for him, which they won't ...

West Ham paid Payet a £1m loyalty bonus in September.

You couldn't make this up

I actually love the idea of swapping Memphis and sending TFM on loan there. Given situation it's not like WH can hold out, Payet has forced them into a corner.

Despicable behavior from him in any case. You can't just refuse to play and then magically get a 'back injury' so you don't have to go training

Tevez too? Plenty of players refused to play for their clubs. RVN too, no?

Saha too had to fight to leave Fulham for United. Berbatov as well refused to play and so did Paul Schools in 2001 when he refused to play Arsenal in the Worthington cup against Arsenal. But we need to hear Payets side. Just because he wants to leave doesn't mean he won't play. We're only hearing the side of an angry manager. Some people actually thought De Gea didn't want to play for United when LVG dropped him amid the Real Madrid saga. If he actually told the press that he didn't want to play it would've been worse. Some managers exaggerate to get the fans behind them
