Considering the topic at hand id say id look a little closer to home for those whove 'typed rubbish' for 2 years Ekeke, because right about now you and your ilk are looking very very silly indeed, not for the first time in your case it would seem.
There were a small bunch of posters who felt he didnt have the ability to be a good striker for United. But it was a really small amount that I personally didnt take any notice of, because it was ridiculous. I've no idea why any of you did.
The problem is the amount of times certain posters have tried to lump anyone who has critisized his performances in big games, his goalscoring record, his partnership with Rooney or anything else, in with that very small amount of people who just dont think he's a good footballer.
Not every poster who wasnt convinced about Berbatov, thought he wasnt a good enough player to score goals or improve the team. I was against the idea that he was "the perfect partner for Rooney" which was a common saying in the Berbatov thread around the time we signed him. Because simply, there were better options. But even I thought he'd improve us a bit and play better next to Rooney than Tevez did.
Its taken until this period right now for him to improve on what Tevez did at his best, at United. And I had lower expectations than most.

Some of the comments here were ridiculous about him especially in the last two months. Not a surprise that idiots like Devilish, Commandus(to name a few) hasn't posted here as regularly as they did last summer. Alteast Dans has posted in this thread regularly after Berbatov's current form

All I did was ask him to do those things before I was convinced. If nobody had these reasonable expectations of him and just went over the top praising him for half decent performances, he probably wouldnt ever have delivered in big matches. If you arent pushed, you dont grow.

Absolutely. Those who have backed him have every reason to gloat. It's not a case of "it's not allowed to criticize a player who is doing poorly", but a lot of the criticism was over the top. Now, you can claim to be glad so see him do well now but still maintain that the earlier critcism has been warranted, but if you showed no faith in him and wanted him to be sold (that's quite a few on here), then the gloating is called for and you should eat your humble pie without trying to excuse yourself, because the Berbatover is proving you wrong (thus far in the season).

In my defence I'm still fecking concerned when teams push forward in numbers against us when we're only playing four in midfield. Seems to be a combination of not being able to put enough pressure on the ball when we tire in the last 30 minutes, not having a spare man at the back (genuine holding player) and some individual defensive mistakes. I'm pretty sure Fergie would replace Scholes around the 60 or 70th minute mark if he had a Carrick or Hargreaves available.
