In my defence I'm still fecking concerned when teams push forward in numbers against us when we're only playing four in midfield. Seems to be a combination of not being able to put enough pressure on the ball when we tire in the last 30 minutes, not having a spare man at the back (genuine holding player) and some individual defensive mistakes. I'm pretty sure Fergie would replace Scholes around the 60 or 70th minute mark if he had a Carrick or Hargreaves available.

With Carrick and Hargreaves out and Anderson not match fit he's got very few options in midfield.

I don't remember wrong at all.

I don't have anything against you, but you've always had a clear agenda against Berbatov, and you used to tediously drag it into every thread possible. You became a parody, to the extent that your opinion on anything Berbatov was worthless.

And you've been made to look like a melon, just like all those who had a clear agenda against Nani.

Villified by a couple of pointless posters yes. But again, why you took any notice of the ridiculous things they were saying about him not being a good enough footballer I'll never know. Because those kinds of comments werent even worth thinking about were they? And as I said, pointless posters. Ones who... Well why did you care what they were saying? Because we're talking the same people who slate all of our players unjustifiably not just Berbatov. The ones who said he's not a good enough player are the ones who have said similar about other good players at United.

The problem is that yourself, Allforone and some others make out that the people who didnt think he was a good enough player, were almost all the people who remained unconvinced by him. When the truth is, those posters were asking for more. Asking for performances like today. Not hating him or stating that he isnt a good enough player. These people wanted him to prove he can do it on days like this, so why is there moaning? Were you the one who didnt enjoy his game today? You've implied that I didnt enjoy it when I've already said I did, its only fair I ask/imply the same thing

Well I dont care if you have anything against me. Because its through posts like this, that your opinion has become meaningless to me. I have absolutely nothing to prove to you, but if you accuse me of something I will prove my point as I did by posting up that post. Because thats the extent of my "gloating" - saying all that matters is that he played well and thats what I'll enjoy.

I agree. I wasn't blaming anyone, just stating what I think is contributing to our defensive problems. With Carrick back we'll obviously be in much better shape but without him it's a serious problem. I guess Anderson will start on Wednesday but he's not really the type of player we need in there anyway. The extra body will help though.

Your agenda against Berbatov was pathetic, and also derailed many a thread. You've been made to look foolish.

But thanks for the compliment. I must be doing something right if my opinion is meaningless to someone like you.

It was my one post "gloating" about the subject of Nani proving doubters wrong.

Your agenda against posters you perceive to have an agenda against Berbatov or Nani is pathetic. As if you're one to judge.

Berba's magical day

Dimitar Berbatov took home a big smile and a signed matchball after enjoying arguably his finest hour for United.

"It's a magical day, special for me of course because I scored a hat-trick and we won against our rivals Liverpool," the Bulgarian beamed on MUTV.

"Everybody was happy in the dressing room after the game. I am happy too and I am going home with a smile on my face because we won a very important game.

"It is probably one of my best games for United but I don't want it to be my last so I will keep working and hopefully I will improve on the things I try to do. Today, everything was really happening for me. I give thanks to my team-mates who supplied me for the goals."

The striker's second goal - from a bicycle kick after controlling Nani's cross on his thigh - is an early contender for goal of the season awards. But with his back to goal, Dimitar didn't have the best view of it.

"Honestly I didn't see the ball go in the net but when I hear the crowd screaming, then it was easy to guess what happened so it was a good goal. For me, if the ball's in the net, it doesn't matter if it's an overhead kick or just a tap-in."


At that stage of the game, the Reds looked certain to enjoy a comfortable win. But two goals from visiting captain Steven Gerrard changed all that and two points looked to be slipping away for the third time this season.

"This was going through my mind when it was 2-2 but we showed that we have a good spirit, a fighting spirit and we always fight to the end," said Berbatov.

"We showed that today. We scored a third goal and overall I think we deserved the win. Liverpool put up a good performance but I think we deserved to win more than them.

"Let's hope in the future we're not going to complicate it so much. It's good when you're up 2-0 but even better when you make it 3-0. We'll keep working, we'll keep improving. There is a long way ahead of us but hopefully we'll be on top at the end of the season."

From a noisy afternoon at Old Trafford to a quiet night in... Berbatov revealed there would be no big celebration for his hat-trick or the victory.

"I'm going home to play with my kids," he said. "I am nothing special. Tomorrow is another day and next Sunday we have another game. That's it."

How lucky are we, that Berba quit the national team. Big big part of his form is very much because of that
 
He was pure magic today. :D

His second goal made my one eyed monster explode, what a beauty that was. Our first player in 64 years to get a hat-trick against the dippers, I can't stop smiling.

Yeah but your thread instead of celebrating his amazing achievement and awesome performance puts the focus more on criticisms of him in the past and his past performances in general. I don't know why we need to look back on such a day when Berbatov has produced such a magical performance.

Again... that thread is having a go at the disgraceful minority who labelled him things like Berbflop. Got no problem with constructive criticism, which at times he fully deserved.
 
It will only be a matter of time before the told you sos backfire. There will be a game or patch (hopefully not) where Berba won't perform or win us points and the people being told you so today will be back with a fervor.

The thing here is to hope this is going to be Berbatov for the rest of the season and that Rooney will find a better vein of form. You have Berba in this form, it will just open the game up for Rooney and others. Long may it continue because it is a pleasure to watch.

Fair enough. I'm just saying it would have been better if all of us kept the focus on his amazing performance rather than put the spotlight on people who criticized him or labelled him things, because that will eventually put the focus on his past performances.
 
Great stuff from Fergie to take him off so he could get that standing ovation.
