He was a bit less involved today, but yet was at the right place at the right time and scored 3 great goals! He has improved so much and is playing immensely! Keep it up Berba!

Agreed.

Some of the comments here were ridiculous about him especially in the last two months. Not a surprise that idiots like Devilish, Commandus(to name a few) hasn't posted here as regularly as they did last summer. Alteast Dans has posted in this thread regularly after Berbatov's current form

Easy on cocksucker I have been on holiday for the last 3 1/2 weeks in sunny USA so forgive me if I missed Berba uptick in form.

After 2 seasons of mediocrity its a nice change - I hope it continues but if you want to gloat please be my guest.

A quick wallpaper I made for Berbatov today

Sorry for how big it is.

Posted this in the wallpapers thread but it seems no-one else posts there so I'll stick this in here

I think every single previous Berba-Hater should be named, shamed and asked to write a letter of apology to our eclectically skilled number 9. Some of the vitriol aimed at him last season was worse than what opposition fans abuse with.

I can confidently say that you will not find one single post from me which offered anything but belief and support ... and who said feeling smug with satisfaction could be a bad thing, I watched the game in the middle of the Himalayas and even the altitude could not stop me jumping up and down chanting his name much to the bemusement of the locals!

I've been shamed:wenger:, although I was his biggest fan until he played like he had the speed and drive of a turtle! He has now got back to the Berba that warranted the 35ish million dollar price tag!

That much bitterness is not healthy my friend. Being the fecking moaning cnut you are, I won't be surprised to see you back again posting regularly in this thread, once Berbatov has one bad match.

You're such a standup guy. Really.

First hattrick in sixty something years? This is stuff that will live on in the annals of Manchester United forever.

Berbatov made himself a true United legend yesterday and I do not use the term lightly.

All the Berbatov threads will go in the other direction again after 2-3 bad games

If his next 30 games would be shockers, most on here would excuse him based on yesterday's performance.

Now before you all go precious and hysterical on me, let me point out that this is a commentary on the nature of this forum and in particular the majority of posters who have contributed to the thread, and NOT on Dimitar Berbatov.

Wow, just wow. I still can't quite believe that second goal, I could happily sit and watch it all day. Fantastic performance, but for some of us we've known that this is what he's capable of. No need to be smug about it though, let's just all enjoy Berbatov's form at the moment.

The second goal is getting all the plaudits - and rightly so - but it's the third that pleased me most (not just because it was the winner)

Berbatov is a big, tall bloke who scored a lot of headers at his previous club. For some reason he's been terrible with his head at United. It was great to see him towering over Carragher the way he did. We've really missed Ronaldo's aerial threat these last two seasons. Rooney's punching above his weight when it comes to scoring with his head but it will make us a much stronger side if Berbatov keeps up that sort of threat in the air.

Absolutely. I've seen it about 30 times npw and I get a chubby on every time.
I don't think many players in world football could have controlled that ball and then with there next touch, put it in the top corner. Breath taking

I'm really happy for him that he's finally getting it together with us. You'd have had to have been as blind as a bat to not see that he had it in him, but many people have little or no patience and are too quick to criticise. People are also too quick to praise also, lets see how the whole season goes.

S.A.F. has the patience and belief in his players, and to bring the best out of them. That's why he is the manager & we're the muppets. Thus says Bbest.

He loved his ovation when he came off, but was so shy and didn't know how to react. Love it.

Love his routine in the summer too. Watched a WC game, went for a run, watched another, went for a run. No doubt it helped, good for you Dimitar.

It is showing. Keep it up Mitko. What will you do now. Will you watch your goals?

No. Noooooooo! I can’t watch myself. Even when I came off and everyone was applauding I felt so shy. I love it but I don’t know how to react to it. I’m going to go home. Play with my family and maybe watch a movie later. I can’t wait for training. How weird is that?!

He always comes across as being so modest in his interviews.

He does.

I kind of wish he was a bit less modest and a bit more aware of how fecking good he really is. I would put his struggles to reproduce his Spurs form at United down to a lack of confidence and self-belief.

True.

But at least his modesty is a very likeable trait, in a time where (most) footballers think they are above the law. It's refreshing to have someone who seems to be very "Giggs/Scholes" like in the way they go about their business - quiet, normal and modest.

On a side note, as you pointed out above about his 3rd (headed) goal. I remember him missing at least 4-5 "easier" headers during last season, which if he had scored it, it would have taken him much closer to the 20+ goal tally & automatically turned it into a productive or even "good" season.

Such is the margins of success and (apparent) "failure" ey! I just hope Rooney discovers his touch soon and then we'd really have defenders shitting themselves facing Rooney, Berbagod and Nani!

My Favourite bits from that interview...

Q: A disappointing time. Would you say that?

DB: I was disappointed with myself that I could not please all the supporters. I have said before the people of Manchester United are the judges and that is the way it should be. It is their team. I am a guest. A privileged guest.

Q: Wow…you must be tired!

DB: No man that’s the thing. This crowd at Old Trafford. The way I feel right now. I’m not tired. I feel alive. I have always said I am so lucky to play here. For these people. For this manager. For this club. With these players. I can’t describe it man.

How anyone "slated" or didn't support this guy, I don't know but I guess football is a cut-throat, results driven business.

Brilliant Interview With Berb – THIS Is The Type Of Player We Want

Seriously, the guy is too modest! I genuinely feel bad for doubting, and almost losing my faith, in him...

Sorry Berba

That interview gives some credence to the theory about him being much fitter this season:

I have worked hard on my fitness. So hard. I’m not a weights guy, I’m sure you can see by my body, but I have been trying even to work on that. I ran 6 miles every day during the off season. I watched one World Cup match, went for a run. Then watched another and went for another run. This was my routine.

Berbatov can be as good as he wants to be. There's nothing he can't do. The thought of a season with Berbatov at his best is exciting in itself. I just hope he can carry it on. Whatever anyone of us have said about his mentality so far, ability wise the sky is the limit.

I've often said he doesn't look like he belongs, largely because I don't think he believed that he belonged either. This season so far is different, he's beginning to see himself as a proper Manchester United player, deserving to be alongside Giggs, Scholes and Rooney.

That's interesting to hear about his fitness - you can definitely see he's been doing lots of gym work, and I think his added strength told yesterday against Carragher.

I think you've got to respect a guy who can show that dedication and bring about such an improvement and alteration of his conditioning/physique at the age of 29 - you don't see that too often...

He does.

I kind of wish he was a bit less modest and a bit more aware of how fecking good he really is. I would put his struggles to reproduce his Spurs form at United down to a lack of confidence and self-belief.

i know what you mean, it was odd to see him looking so....ummm flat?....when he was subbed off to a standing ovation.

I'd have purposefully gone around shaking every scouse players hand on my way off grinning from ear to ear and milking it for as long as i could

agree about the confidence thing too, perhaps the best thing about yesterday, even more than the result, is the boost it will surely give him

keep it up Dimi, Bolton is my first game of the season and i cant wait to see him play live
