We shipped a goal in the 89th minute, thanks to shite defending.

United players scored one goal. ONE.

That has sweet fa to do with Berbatov apparently descending into puppy-dog mode.

I didn't say it did. Jesus, you are like the miracle of obstinate.

We'd have gotten the result today if Vidic/Evra, on the individual goals that we conceded, had done their jobs.

Yes. And if Hengeland hadn't gifted us an OG, we would not have drawn. Good point, though.

This game today is definitely not an example of Berbatov's head dropping/him having a poor attitude, yet you've still managed to crow bar it into this thread.

You're really a ridiculous human being, as I have never come remotely close to blaming this draw on Berbatov. Try to get a hold of yourself because you've turned a bit insane, not to mention my "crow barring" was a response to someone who made a similar comment.

Take a break from the internet. You need it. Badly.

Cant say I've ever seen you go above and beyond or try to deflect criticism from them. Maybe you just have a reasonable argument, and those players deserve to be "defended" when you do so.

Go and do search if you must.

I try to remain balanced on all things United. Obviously sometimes I'll get a little over excited, just like any football fan...

The fact is that it's extremely badly timed for people to start saying the usual:

- his body language wasn't great;
- for £30m, he should be producing more...

He was one of our best players today.

Did you decide that from the numerous hours that we've spent in one another's company?

Behave yourself man. All I've said is that we barely deserved a point today and that both goals we conceded were piss-poor defending. And then I've stated that it's a bit weak to start on the old Berbatov-criticism bandwagon.

If that makes me a ridiculous human being, then so be it.

My comment was that he did well in the first half, then later in the second faded and got that sad/frustrated look on his face that means he's done.

You are distorting what is written for your own agenda, whatever in the feck that is. It's really rather sad, TBH.

OH. I thought you enjoyed over generalizations and sweeping comments of nonsense.

Bait. Taken.

Thank you.

The reaction of some to Berbatov in todays match in this thread is the best example of 'agenda posting' if ever I have seen it!

What the hell did Berbatov have to do with the dropped points today? I thought he was excellent and created many chances for himself. With abit of luck and a lesser goalkeeper than Fulhams keeper, he would have scored a couple and put Fulham out of the game.

Im loving how he is becoming very involved with all our football, his perfect weighted assist to Scholes for our first goal is a great example.

We didn't win today because Fulham are an excellent team at Craven Cottage, because our defence was out of sorts and because Nani missed a penalty. Or put another way, a 2-2 drawer was actually a very fair result.

I dont see why the Berba-haters continue this charade. He is a Manchester United player with the full backing of the manager and his team mates. And he has had a good start to this season. FFS, get behind him ..... all the other shite is just posture and frankly, its getting boring.

And... I didnt.

But you still threw out some rubbish about stock posts even though this is, if I can recall, the first time I've ever felt he should have been playing in his partner a few times instead of trying to go it alone unsuccessfully multiple times.

Other than that I thought he was fine. Not great but I'm not sure any of our players were. I'd just like to have seen him play the pass once or twice to show that he's looking for his strike partner who is in a good position to tuck it away. If he tried one or two and they were cut out fair enough. But he just seemed to ignore the option and I think you'll agree, thats quite unlike him with other players.

Here's the thing though - had we won this game comfortably winning 3-0 or something and maybe Berbatov scored the 3rd goal - the criticism would have been that he doesn't do anything in tight games. That he only does it when things are going well.

Today was a tight game in which he was one of our better players. In game where we needed to hold possession he did well for us. But, when we started chasing the goal at 1-1 our play into the strikers wasn't great - both were getting into scoring positions but, the final ball wasn't there.

Soon as we draw or lose, it becomes an instant criticism that he didn't do enough to inspire the win eve though in this case he played his part in getting us the points had we been better defensively.

When he opened the scoring at Everton and then we got walloped because of being poor in CM and defensively - even then it was Berbatov not doing enough to inspire us to victory.

People have been quick to say Chicha is learning but, are quick to admonish Berbatov for not doing the right things with this new player, instantly not making the passes.

Can't we put this down to Berba had a good game, lets hope he carries on and that as he and Chicha play more together, they'll formulate a better understanding.

The problem is its a touch of class... look up... ignore obvious pass... another touch... turn into traffic... fix fair...look up and ...oh lost the ball.

One is 22 the other is 30 :wenger:

Doubt Paul Scholes would agree with you on that.

I think judging peoples reactions from a match day thread when in real time there is going to be some frustration based on small incidences is not going to give a good view of what people think. Berbatov started the game very well and looked like he was going to score. As Fulham came back into the game he faded thats when I wanted to see him stand up and change the game for us, this obviously brings frustration. I am fully behind Berbatov and think he will come good but he is going to have to bring in those match changing performances that a man of his skill is capable of.

jekyll and hyde from berbatov today

first half he looked lively, was closing down and presented a real goal threat

second half he reminded us of the things that frustrate us so much with an anonymous performance, didnt work hard enough or close down when we were under pressure

i think thats him summed up as a player though - thought he looked great today in the first half and against newcastle last time but there are games when we have to carry him

slightly disappointing and would have been nice to have replaced him - owen and hernandez wouldnt be very effective together though so i suppose fergie's hands were tied

Doubt Paul Scholes would agree with you on that.

Are you his spokesperson or something? And any way the reason I mentioned this is because in the 90th minute berba picks up the ball on the edge of the box turns to see scholesy screaming for him to be tee'd up like he did in the first have but berba ignores him then decides to run into Aaron Hughes.

When was this today?

What does this have to do with anything? Both are playing along side each other and have to form an understanding.

Sorry I cant reference a specific time but its my general perception of the guy.

As for the whole age thing, it has a lot to do with everything. Berbatov is 30, he should be hitting top form more consistently, this is supposed to be his peak years.

Im just so sick and tired of waiting for the guy to get good.

Then don't wait for it because he had a good game today. Even the people that have negative things to say are pointing out things he could have done better but, recognize had was one of our better players today.

He's started off the season well for us and the draw doesn't change that.

I'm not holding my breath. He had a good first half today but faded very badly in the second. The problem I have with berbatov is you wouldn't back him to score in a one on one situation. You wouldn't throw him on in the last 20 minutes to get you a goal. I just don't see the point of him.

And this has nothing to do with the draw today. I've already stated in another thread that I was happy with the point.

He looked on form for the first 20 minutes, and that setup for Scholes was lovely, but...

there's still something amiss when he's in front of goal. His technique when he shoots is excellent, unlike many strikers he doesn't have a problem hitting the target, but something I've noticed this year (and to the tail end of last season) is the number of times he will hit a shot, or a header and it'll be right at the keeper. It's almost like he zero's in on the keeper and tries to hit him. Which inevitably means the keeper saves, like he did today, and the countless number of times they did last season.

1-2 feet to either side Berba and you could score 20-25 a season.

Other then that I think he was quite possibly in our top 3 best players today. Lot of good signs, but still needs to find that killer instinct when it comes to finishing.

But at 30 years old is he ever going to find it?

I thought Berbatov did quite well today and was really involved. It was nice to see him shooting for a change and he seems to have hit the start to the season a lot better. Certain players will always get targeted when we drop points or get a bad results.

Before the game I think most of us probably would have taken 2-2 and not seen it as a bad result bearing in mind recent form against them, being away and the Mark Hughes factor thrown it as well. Just the nature of throwing a way a lead and chances to kill the game is what makes it seem that way. Berbatov was not to blame, far from it.

Are you here solely to criticise Berbatov or do you actually support utd?

I doubt hamburg would be that stupid.

:lol::lol::lol:

Still should have gone for Ruud imo. Would have been a quality player to get off the bench and bang in a goal from a half chance. Our team has become so much better since he left. He would love the service he would get now.

But at 30 years old is he ever going to find it?

Being a pretty decent goal scorer already, I'd say he doesn't need find it. Perhaps needs a bit of luck.

Today's chances - one was a very good save, another was keeper playing his position the right way and not letting a goal go in his near post unlike Almunia, another that was deflected by his own player slowing down the ball, another which was half chance but, on target.

As Feed Me said some people complained that he didn't take enough shots last year and wasn't assertive enough, now that he's doing that this season, people will find something else to latch on to that he isn't making the right passes or isn't clinical enough.

He's started his season off well, if the rest of the team starts playing as well, we'll be in very good shape.

Jesus, its like lady Di all over again. Poor Dima, no matter what he does those horrible fans will never love him. Give me a break.
