Television Dexter

That sneak peak of the next episode looks great doesn't it.

Really liked this episode. Big improvement on the previous one.

Oh and this Cole fellow, what shows/movies has he done before? I definitely recognize him but can't remember from where.

Really good episode. Lumen describing Masuka as "That guy's clearly a freak"

LaGuerta is a bitch, she is clearly at fault for the club incident.

Interesting that Dexter hasn't spoken to Harry in a few episodes, is he finally moving on from the code? I think he has he finally found someone who knows him and appreciates him as 'Dexter the family guy' and 'Dexter the serial killer' (Rita knew about the nice Dexter, whilst Lila was only interested in the monster) I wonder if he views Lumen as a side-kick or something more.

Yeah I've been disappointed with this series so far but that was a very good episode, plotlines are finally starting to come together.

Nice to see LaGuerta being a dick again, rather than all the soppy shit between her and Angel, which is just so fecking weak and boring.

Quinn and Deb is still making me yawn.

Lumen is growing on me, I really didn't like her character when she first came into it but I like the relationship between her and Dexter now, it's developing into a great plotline.

yes it's really shaping up now, I think the only reason that it seemed a little slow earlier was possibly due the absence of John Lithgow, as he had such a huge impact on last season.
Lumen and Dexter are really gelling now, I always thought Rita was far too whiny for him, while Lumen ( strange name though ) obviously understands him. Is she the girl for him though? I can't help thinking that the last season ended so shockingly, the producers will try and attempt the same again this season

Oh that's what you meant

 I genuinely thought you were acting stupid to annoy me.

My Lumen theory.

The name Lumen I would assume derives from luminosity in other words light. Dexter has always had his 'dark' passenger, is it time that he has a 'light' passenger in the form of Lumen

I definitely think it's something along those lines. I don't think that they would've chosen an unusual name like that without a thought behind it.

yes, it's a measure of light, isn't it?
Yes. Ivor explained it in the spoiler tags in the post which I quoted. Don't know if you missed it and thought I quoted yours.

Anyway, the name of one of the previous episodes: Everything is Illumenated" gives away a little as well, IMO.

Lumen can also mean the inside of, for example, a cell, but I don't think that's what they're getting at with her.

aaah, i see.
i don't sometimes get the names of each episode when i download them - if I do, looks like I don't read them properly! ;)

In all 5 seasons, that was one of the best episodes yet, I felt every range of emotion watching that one... just brilliant, Dexter is just well and truly brilliant, what a show

Oh damn .... that good? Must watch now ..... Aaargh.

Ok reading these comments, can't wait to watch now. Just downloading :D

great episode and judging from the preview of next weeks episode it looks like it will be just as good

What a phenomenal episode!

Best of the season by a country mile. The conference/seminar overlapped with Dexter's monologues were great. Oh and LaGuerta = cnut of highest order.

LaGuerta is such a bitch, Deb should have shot her.

Quinn's spy is a pretty good character too, in the way he got Lumen's info and the ending.

Funny note: I was watching a live stream last night, and the guy kept on going back to the sex scene and even played it in slow motion.

I see Quinn and the spy being killed by the end of all this.

Peter Weller is a fecking legend! Of course he rocks! :nono:

Terrific episode :D I wonder what that mean for Dexter now Liddy has pictures. I mean all it would show is him dropping bags into the ocean right? No actual body parts. Can't wait for the next episode.

Well some one could easily swim down to find out what's in the bags. Can see Quinn and the spy ending with brutal deaths

Dexter changed where he dropped the bags so that they get carried away with the current after the whole Bay Harbor Butcher thing though.

Yeah I remember that but this spy guy is obsessed at doing a really good job
Well even if they can't find the bags there will be serious questions to be answered when Quinn sees this.

One point to make.
How did dexter get back in his room to save Lumen?

His door was completely locked with the catch and other safety lock. Coles was going to be shut behind him and i dont think dexter has the capabilities to hack card-key doors? Kicking down a door clearly wasnt an option.

You didn't see Cole enter his room, could have left the door open... other than that, plot hole :p

That is the only thing that could of happened. Deffo not feeling the convenience of that. Must of shut his door so breaking through the side door wasnt obvious to anyone in the hall like the maid. Altho she probs would of heard that anyway.

The plot truely thickens

Great episode.
Liking the Dexter-Lumen partnership as well, much better than I thought it would be. Quinn and the spy will die, I reckon Debra might kill one of them.

yes , excellent episode.
yes , excellent episode.
Debra has admitted she feels no guilt in killing the bad guys - just wondering if they will explore that a bit further.
Also, the relationship between Dexter and Lumen really seems to be growing, looks like there are real feelings there

Very good episode, think some may be overrating it a little but it was certainly the best of the series so far.

Nice to see La Guerta and Angel back to their roots a bit instead of this lovey-dovey shite.

Watched the last 6 episodes in the last couple of weeks, this season has been superb.

It's far and away ahead of Season 3 for me, maybe the weakest after that, but still superb in it's own right.

Meh, I find it a bit lacking. Plotlines all over the place, the dialogue isn't as sharp and witty as before, Julia Stiles a shit actress, la Guerta and Angel bore me to death, Quinn is crap. The last 2 episodes have been good but there are so many plot holes and ridiculous things going on right now that it's hard to take the show seriously anymore.
