Television Dexter

Not to mention the fact a twisted show like Dexter can really effect your brain.

To be fair, there are only 12 episodes in each Dexter season. Still pretty crazy, mind you.

Yeah i know it's just 12 episodes but I was hooked onto Dexter but no way could i finish it that fast. Insane rate

And anyway it being 12 episodes is kind of compensated by the fact that each episode lasts around 10 minutes longer than the normal Lost, 24 episodes etc

Yea I know. The last 6 months I was basically busy everyday (including weekends). I finally got a couple of days off so I decided not to even touch anything work related.

Hence the mad marathon :D

am i the only one who enjoyed season 3 then?

I thought season 3 was great. I get the idea that people may think its formulaic that there is a bad guy who dies every season, but I dont think thats what it is at all. The death of each antagonist has basically been a severance from humanity for dexter, in season 1, it was blood, in 3 it was friendship, in 4 it was any hope normality, with trinity symbolizing the potential for a sociopath to have some semblance of humanity. All three things represent essential aspects of being human.

I thought the friendship angle was great, it was one of the few times I saw Dexter make something that resembled a genuine connection. So I thought season 3 worked very well.

That said, I probably enjoyed 3 the least, but thats not a slight on it in any way. If ranked 1,2,4 a 100, I would rank 3 a 90.

Yeah saying Season 3 isn't as good as the others is like saying Neville isn't as much of a legend as Scholes. While still being fantastic it's just the quality of the others is so high.

Just finished the season 4. Definitely the best season.

As much as Rita was annoying she can't compete with annoyances of certain Sara from PB.

I thought the ending of season 3 was much stronger then 2, it was a little convenient how they got Dexter out of the hole he was in with Doakes

When is season 4 being shown in the UK, or has it already started?

Sara was very annoying but Rita takes it to another level

Agreed, celebrated like mad when I began to understand where the ending was going. Good riddance, shocked to find out that people on here actually felt sorry for her and liked her.

Still no news on whether there will be a season 6. I hope this one isn't going to be the last, there's not enough time to wrap up the story in my opinion.

Julia Stiles is a good addition, will be interesting to see what role she plays. She's a good actress.

Well sure the ending was a little sad and the way she died was tragic but I was bloody delighted.

That was an epic scene btw.

Does that mean we'll be seeing Stiles breastage?

Can't wait for season 5. I have no idea where they'll take the story, as for obvious reasons it seems like it should be pretty epic!

That was my first thought

Some guy called Jonny Lee Miller is also part of the season 5 cast.

John Lithgow didn't even get a nomination for best supporting actor at the Emmys. He's got one for guest actor or something.

He was in every fecking episode, shows how much of a joke the Emmys are.

Terry O'Quinn should be nailed on for best supporting actor, even if Lithgow, as brilliant as he was, was nominated.

It was probably the show's decision on which category to enter him in. This way atleast it increases his chances of winning.

Defintely this. You will be so hooked you won't know what hit you :D

...and a month later from that piece of wisdom, I've finished the four seasons.

Incredible show. Sat there stunned for a fair bit after the last scene of S4.
