Television Dexter

It's not that I didn't like season 3. I just didn't think it was as good. Miguel was a whole lot better than Lila, but the story never reached the heights of the Bay Harbour Butcher and Doakes. Maybe it was too rushed, I don't know.

Dexter executive Sara Colleton has shared some secrets about the show's fifth season
According to Entertainment Weekly, the creators will not jump ahead past Rita's (Julie Benz) death from last season.

"We need to see Dexter go through the process that we'd all have to go through if such a horrible thing had happened to us. We need to see him doing everything from the big emotional things like grieving the loss, to the mundane things like arranging a funeral, getting the kids dressed, and all the other things that are usually done for men because their wives or mothers do them," she confirmed.

The crew are also going to be moving away from the typical formula of having Dexter face off against another killer. Instead, they will delve deeper into the main character's psyche.

"John Lithgow is a tough act to follow. If there was ever a year that we could take a step back from the big bad formula and go deeper into Dexter and his psychology, this would be that year."

She added that the serial killer will still do some murdering, saying: "Dexter has a dark passenger that won't go away no matter how much he yearns to be normal. That rears up and needs to be dealt with."

Of a potential romance for Dexter, Colleton emphasised: "Anything is possible, but I don't think Dexter will be in the mood for dating or love any time soon. That's not even on our radar right now."

OK watched all 4 seasons in the space of 2 weeks. The finale has left me shocked, more so than any show I have watched. Jesus, just Jesus

 The finale was brilliant. The ending has you somehow feeling very sad for a seriel killer. Brilliant show.

Urgh I hate when this thread gets bumped, gives me flashbacks of that bath tub :(

Only 5 months until the next season. Come on September 26th!

Might wanna spoiler that for others who haven't seen it Ivor.

Am I the only one who
was absolutely over the moon when that dramaqueen wife of Dexter died? Nearly as annoying as his sister in a different way. Keeps being all dramafeckingqueen over small matters nagging Dexter. If she whined and threatened Dexter to go to one more of her favorite therapy sessions I'd have thrown the fecking remote through my plasma screen!
I literally pumped my fists Leyton Hewitt style (and probably had the same annoying gay facial expression as well) when I knew where the ending was leading to... I was nearly as happy as when we won the champions league! :nervous:

I logged on here to see how everyone was expressing their glee about it but was genuinely surprised by the amount of <can't even remember her name again> sympathizers on here.

Not really, she acted like any wife would

Some great news
Dexter's Michael C. Hall is fully cured of cancer

Dexter star Michael C. Hall has recovered fully from cancer and has returned to work, his wife Jennifer Carpenter has said.
Hall, 39, announced in January he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer that attacks the lymph nodes.
Carpenter said Hall had been "incredibly brave" to make his condition public.
In his award-winning role, Hall plays Dexter Morgan, a Miami police analyst who moonlights as a serial killer.
Hall went into remission and continued treatment at a health centre near Los Angeles.
Dexter has been a big hit with viewers on both sides of the Atlantic and Hall has won much praise for his performance.
Earlier this year, the actor won a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe Award.
In the show Dexter is a serial killer who targets other murderers. Carpenter also stars as Dexter's seemingly unknowing sister.

Bloody hell yeah.

I absolutely hated Rita. She was one of the most annoying characters ever. However the entire scene was a bit sad. Though i was happy she was dead , the way it did occur was a bit sad

The wives in TV shows like this always seem to be a complete pain in the arse. Skylar in Breaking Bad comes to mind too.

Just finished watching the Season 4 finale ..... Can't get it out of my head. What a fecking unbelievable show !!!! Love it.

Series 4 of Dexter is perhaps the best series of anything I have ever seen.

Many say it's the weakest, but I preferred it to series 1. They're all amazing, to be fair.

Just finished the second season last night and have the 3rd season boxset ordered, any good ?

Its not as great as one and four. but its a very entertaining seasons like them all. Every episode is great insight into his character so I dont see any episode as filler really. This season has somegood characters as well.

They ve set up things for season 5 so well that even if they do a half decent job of it, its got the potential to be the best so far. And you know its going to start with a bang. Can not wait!!

Would just like to say I love you to the lads here who convinced me to follow this series. It's the best I've watched for ages, convincing acting and lovely humor (even some of the editing makes me laugh). Cheers lads, I'm well into season 3 now and trying to go slow but just can't.

Sounds good, I avoid anything that can give away the plot, but from what I've heard he's getting nastier in season 4 :D Btw, do you know if the 5th season is in production? Can't even skim this thread for fear of reading spoilers.

You may or may not have heard but Michael C Hall was diagnozed with cancer some time last year. Fortunately he's made a full recovery and they are on schedule for Season 5 this September. Everyone has high expectations from this season to put it mildly.

I just watched 4 seasons in three days... wow... just wow... what a fecking brilliant show... and the ending for season 4, man that broke my heart. So did season 1 and 2 for that matter (when dokes died). Takes a brave show to make a move like that and thats what makes it so brilliant.

I cant wait for season 5. I've basically watched 44 hours straight of dexter and now my mind feels fairly off.

Bloody hell how on Earth can anyone watch 4 seasons in 3 days. That's insane.

The best I have done is 2 seasons of 24 in 5 days!

To be fair, there are only 12 episodes in each Dexter season. Still pretty crazy, mind you.
