Television Dexter

Well feck me what a tv show. I watched all of Dexter in a month, 48 episodes of sheer class, Season 3 was probably the weakest but still had me engrossed. Season 4 however... feckin ell.

Poor Rita, makes it even more disturbing that we witnissed what Arthur did to the woman in the very first episode. For her to go through that, with Harrison in the same room and perhaps being told who Dexter really is must have been... feckin ell.

So where will season 5 go? Will he stay and face the consequences of getting too close to Arthur? Or will he go on the run with Harrison and resurrect the cycle of teaching Harrison how to kill?

So many questions... how do they top such a brilliant villain though? Or perhaps they start to cast Dexter in the villain role? I can't wait!

After the shock subsides you realize that is probably one of the most brutally honest thing anyone has said. Of course it paints you out to be completely self absorbed individual, but wow...talk about being blunt and oblivious.

The cure or long term remission rate for this cancer is very high indeed. 90% or more even of detected late. If his was detected early then he should be fine with treatment.

Yep, mate of mine was diagnosed with it in the summer and thankfully he's made a full recovery now, so let's hope Dex does as well.

OK I'm finally getting into this show. Just finished episode 6 of Season 1. He nearly got caught!

Does it get better as it goes on? Is Season 1 the best? I heard Season 4 had a great ending too. How many seasons has it been commissioned for?

I'd go 2 > 4 > 1 > 3 myself in terms of excellence. So yes it does get better, apart from 3.

I believe there's another season at least, possibly 2, so 6 overall.

Yes. 4 > 2 > 1 >> 3

Is Season 1 the best?

No.

I heard Season 4 had a great ending too.

Yup.

How many seasons has it been commissioned for?

At the end of season 3 there were reports that it'd been commission for 3 more. Not heard anything since though.

4>1>2>>>>>>>>>>3

Season 3 is in comparison, really quite bad. Still very watchable though.

Probably my favourite tv show of all time.

Any news on the actor who plays Dexter? I heard he was diagnosed with cancer?

I finished Season 2 at the weekend. I think overall the quality was better but I did prefer the final 2 episodes of Season 1 if I'm being honest. I liked Lila at first but then she went a bit nutty.

It was brilliant when Dexter headbutted Doakes.

fecking hell, I'd finally got round to watching season 4 and have just finished watching the last episode. Shit. I don't even know where to start. What an absolutely unbelievable series that was.

It kills me to say it, but I think this has surpassed 24 now.

I turned off season 3 two episodes in, it was appalling stuff. Only reason I checked out season 4 was because of John Lithgow, so glad I did, what a series! Could be the best!

Didn't rate series 2 that much. Glad that 4 was lacking the joke characters of previous years like Doakes or that English wan.

Well, I just finished a crash-course in Dexter, having watched the entire four seasons in a few weeks. It really is brilliant. With all the hype around it, I thought after watching a few episodes that it isn't THAT great, but that quickly ended. The intensity there is so unreal it got me to the stage I watched seven episodes a one day.

Like most, I rate the third season as the weakest. The idea with Miguel was good, but the story never seemed to come together to be strong enough. First and second were pretty similar, with the first having the stronger finish. The fourth was absolutely amazing. Twist after twist, the outstanding Thanksgiving episode and then the finale, leaving a whole new sets of problems for the next one.

The only real downers are the side stories, with the likes of Laguerta, Angel, Deb's romances (when they have nothing to do with the main stories, unlike the Ice truck killer), never being half as interesting. The whole Laguerta and Angel romance in the fourth was boring to bits. But I can live with it...
