Television Dexter

I like where you're going (Rorsarch:lol:), but
I don't think that Dexter will be training anyone to kill anytime soon. With his failed attempt to teach his ways to Miguel Prado in Season 3, and his increasing lack of confidence in himself and his code, I think it's too early for him to be passing along knowledge.

I do think Quinn will have a big part in next season, as he really didn't have much to add to this season except for growing a tense relationship with Dexter over the last few episodes. I think that will lead into next season.

I do not think Dexter will be suspected for Rita's death.

I can't wait.

Yeah but if the rumours are true then the next series will be set 6 months after this one, (with a TV movie to fill the gap) if he recognises the young serial killer qualities in ayoung person he has an option of 3 things, let him develop on his own which will result in him (Cody) getting caught, try to make the lad normal or teach him Harrys code

I think it will be retarded and completely contrived if Harrison starts showing signs of becoming a serial killer.

Just to confirm gambit, are you sure you don't mean Harrison when you say Cody?

No i mean Ritas son, Cody, he witnessed the beatings and the rapes of his mother by his real father, now with current events it will probably knock him over the edge. Not the baby who will have no memory. It will probably start off with Cody hurting animals.

This is an honest question; are the series worth it? My brother goes on and on about it, but as I can't even be bothered to follow Sopranos on a regular basis I have doubts about watching this.

In my opinion it's one of the best TV Shows I've ever seen. I've been trying to watch Sopranos too and I'm getting there, but it doesn't give me the same will to watch it as Dexter does.

Definitely worth watching. One of my favourite shows ever, along with The Wire and The Sopranos.

yup, definitely worth watching, he's just such a brilliant character!!

It is the best TV show in forever. I saw half of an episode on TV and never bothered. I then watched the first episode of series 1 a year or more later and became instantly hooked and watched all three series over a couple of weeks. It is brillaint.

Wait till you see season 4, best of the lot.

I'd say in terms of series 4>1>>2>>>>>>>>>>>3, although 3 is well worth watching as well.

Spot on. Season 3 for me was pretty poor but still very watchable. Miguel Prado was a major reason for the season being poorer. Bit of a rubbish character and not particularly well acted.

i thought he was excellent actually ( but then i liked jimmy smits from his LA Law days )

i loved the scenes between dexter and prado - well acted and well written, i thought

I thought he did ok, but he always looked as if he needed a crap throughout the series.

i've watched dexter from the beginning and was hooked from the first show. this last season's ender was the ultimate shocker. i figured they'd get divorced in the next season. can't wait for the next.

i loved the sopranos, the shield, and the wire (which i've just finished watching season three on dvd) thus far.

I have. Watched the last two episodes back to back late last week. I don't know which series I prefer but I do know that the ending to this series was utterly brilliant. I didn't guess it at all.

I'm guessing by series you mean season Wibs. Personally I'd go for season 4 as this season had plenty of gripping moments compared to the others. Plus, John Lithgow as Arthur Mitchell was just excellent and made what was already a great series, even better.

Sorry. Yes, season.

This season was great. The breasts of that English phyco in series 2 were another high point (see what I did there?) and I also really liked series 3 more than most. This series probably edged all others due to the finale. Bloody brilliant. I want more NOW.

Theres a rumour circulating that next season may be the last. With the odd tv film afterwards.

The last time Showtime renewed it was for 2 seasons after the 3rd season. So technically it is up to next season. I'm guessing whether it's renewed further depends on the outcome of next season.

And Wibs, Christine's breast was another high point in the series as well. Heheh.

No more of in the case that the creators are thinking of calling it a day, not showtime renewing it.

An interview with Michael C. Hall said it was not certain as well but one more season is definitely confirmed. He went on to mention that the show is in a bit of a high now so it'll be pretty dumb to stop it, or something along those lines. So like I said, whether the show continues after season 5 will heavily depend on how next season goes I reckon.

I think it is highly unlikely that season 5 will be the last. There is no way the network will want to end it after season 5. Season 4 got the channel it's highest ever viewing figures for an original programe and it's highest figures for anything since they had a Tyson fight about 10 years ago.

It all comes down to the writers really. I doubt whether they could wrap up the whole series in just another 12 episodes. I wouldn't be surprised if season 6 was the last though, that would give them enough time to wrap things up nicely and make sure the show still ends while it is quality and not drag it on for years.

Even if the viewing figures weren't so good for season 5 (not likely after how good season 4 was), I also doubt the network would just cancel it and not give it at least 1 more season to finish the story properly. Anyway, here's hoping we get more than 1 season as it's the best thing on tv by far at the moment.

P.S. nsfw ;) Shame she's dead...

Dexter's Michael C. Hall Has Cancer | Michael C. Hall

Michael C. Hall

Dexter actor Michael C. Hall revealed Wednesday he has been battling cancer, but said he’s almost finished with treatment and the disease is in remission.

Hall, 38, said in a statement he is lucky to have been diagnosed with the “treatable and curable condition” – Hodgkin’s lymphoma – and thanked his Los Angeles-area medical team for their skill in caring for him.

His spokesman, Craig Bankey, said Hall’s cancer is in remission but the actor will continue scheduled treatments.

Hall plans to go with his wife – and Dexter costar – Jennifer Carpenter to Sunday’s Golden Globes, where he's nominated for best dramatic actor and the show as best drama. He also plans to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards the following Saturday, where Hall and the cast are also nominated.

Get well soon

Glad it's in remission, this explains the shaved head in that interview he had with Lithgow. He's a superb actor. Get well soon Dex.
