Hate this cnut and he's wank
As much as I hate his theatrics (loathe them in fact) his return isn't that bad. 5 goals and 7 assists (as many as Eriksen). As far as I see, it just sort of pales in comparison to the figures he had last year.
I don't watch Spurs much so I can't comment on his all round play, which might well have been wank.
I rate Scott but that's taking the mick buddy.I'd take McTominay all day over Ali.

Ermmm they play different positions and are completely different players. Talent wise, Alli is miles of ahead of Scotty McT at this juncture. Odd post.
Chav mans Lingard without the dabz
Very true. Baffling comparison. And this must be the type of thing you were referring to in the McTominay thread.

The hate he gets on here is quite something, he doesn't help himself, but still.
The games most obvious dive goes to Townsend, but that isn't mentioned at all.
Welcome to big time. Players of high profile clubs will always get more coverage for their actions.
Yeah agree with you, and he does have a reputation now, which he himself is responsible for. I hate diving and theatrics, but chances are high that in the Real Madrid v PSG game you'll see one of these every 10 minutes so this is not an Alli problem, but a football problem. Yet he is the one labelled cheating scum (or worse) and lots of people apparently want to punch him.
In my view, the real issue is that football is not doing anything to prevent diving, and as long as it's beneficial, players will continue to do it. Only way to get rid of it is to actually make it so that diving is not worth the risk, which only handing out proper punishment will do.
I still think he's absolute quality and a star in the making, but my god he's a right little prick. Hopefully he matures a bit and eliminates that shit or he's going to have a real problem going forward with public and media perception and referees.
Can you really call what Alli does performances this season? More often than not he coasts through games and then pops with a goal/assist. So everyone raves about how good he was.
One obvious trick that fans seem to fall for; is Alli putting in effort when the game is already done. It's textbook Alli to start hacking down opposition players with 10 minutes go (it doesnt really matter who is winning, he does it whenever nothing is left to chase in the game). Then, people talk about how he contributes to the overall play.
Lingard has been better than him this season, but because Alli is England's new hope he'll be given the rope to hang himself during the world cup.
Well Lingard is 4 years older, i don't really get the comparison. Dele is still a kid.
Lingard and Alli are similar profile of players. Alli was much better last season in his overall play; he is young and so inconsistent. So he should not be an important figure in the England setup.
From PFA young player of the year .....to PFA cheat.
His value must be dropping faster than a lead turd.
But, Eriksen can effect matches when not scoring and assisting goals Alli does not do that yet.
Opposition fans see what they want to see.
Even Roy Hodgson said that Alli didn't dive, But hey, he's only the manager of Crystal Palace, the team supposedly sinned against, so what does his view matter compared to that of the determined Alli-bashers on here?
It amazes me to see the amount of bile and vitriol that some posters drag around with themselves, itching to find a target on which to unload.
Were they all dropped on their heads as babies? Not hugged enough? Who knows.
Good post and fair play to you for calling it as it is.Mate, whatever Roy says, he dived and is doing it a lot. So do other players (some are worse than Dele) and the hypocrisy of other team's fans annoys me too, but Dele's diving is really pissing me off now.
I hate it when our players dive more than when the opposition do. He doesn't need to do it and I firmly believe we'd have somewhere in the region of 5 additional goals if he wasn't diving as his reputation is now completely shitful around the league, including the refs and it's reducing our ability to get legitimate penalties and even free kicks. The same thing happened with Bale. I believe was mostly scared of bad tackles after the Charlie Adam incident rather than intentionally trying to dive but it only took 2 or 3 bad incidents before refs started to give the benefit of the doubt to the tackler.
Irrespective of the disadvantage it gives us with the refs, it just drives me up the wall from a football aesthetics standpoint. We play great football, some the best in the league, and this goes against that ethos and I also believe it's the difference in his goalscoring this year compared to last that he's no longer trying to beat the defence but instead trying to lure them into contact.
Love that description! Though I think Ali’s a slightly better technical player, if he can learn to time a run like Platty he’ll be an effective player.Diving David Platt at the moment.
The first goal yesterday was expecional. He still has 12 goals this season and has definitely been playing a deeper role.
How does everyone else think he has been this season?
