One of those whom you love if he plays for you.
If he played for Arsenal or Chelsea, he'd probably be my most hated player in years. Absolutely no question.

He seems to play with a huge chip on his shoulder, it would be interesting to know where it stems from.
My thoughts too. The ref was woeful yesterday.Oh poor victim. Can you post few of those tackles that you could classify as player being targeted?
His family situation is a catastrophe (he doesn't like being referred to by his last name for that reason) and he came up through lower level academy and league football, that'd leave a chip on most anyone's shoulders.
Oh poor victim. Can you post few of those tackles that you could classify as player being targeted?
Haven't you seen the clip of KDB assaulting Alli with his ankle?
So now we justify him just because he comes from a difficult background? Does he dive to forget it?
I even remember him pushing Frank Lampard in his first season after an argument. You just don’t push Lampard/Giggs/Carrick and those kind of players when you’re a little kid. Hated his face ever since.
Poor guy almost broke his spike.
Definitely a dive. Cheating little shitbag
Last I checked, United weren't in this match? He definitely dives. There might be some small contact, which certainly could never cause the reaction it does, unless it was on a 5 year old. He 100% dives to exaggerate it, so he's trying to con the ref, so it's a dive. End of.Take off your biased blinkers mate. From Ref Review:
"... we don’t get the controversy over this one as it looked a stick on."

When he isn't one of the best so what is he proving by that ?Why not? He nutmegged Modric within 30s of ever stepping onto a pitch wearing a Spurs shirt (friendly in the USA against Real). He's very good in large part because he gives no shit who anyone is. The best players are the ones who refuse to accept "their place" in the game.
As for shoving Lampard - say what you want about that night at Stamford Bridge, but it pretty much cemented Spurs fans love for quite a lot of those youngsters. We've been "lads it's Tottenham" for far too long and while they lost their cool, they showed they weren't going to get just bullied around because the other team had established stars and felt they could. And nobody has bullied Spurs since then.
There's no question he's an absolute pain in the ass. Spurs have needed a steel spine and a few pains in the ass for years though, and as long as he knows how to toe the proper side of the line then it's a huge benefit for the team.
Seems to me that whatever Dele does is a dive on this forum. 100% clear penalty, was a clumsy challenge that Alli didn't try to move away from (and why should he?).
When he isn't one of the best so what is he proving by that ?
Don't be silly yourself, is he one of the best in the world ? Simple answer is no...He's got 40+ goals and he's not even 22 yet. Don't be silly.
He's got 9 goals and 11 assists already this season and he's having a "poor" season. If that's poor for you, you are a terrific footballer.

Therein lies the difference, the age. I simply compare him with all the players and not the U21He definitely is one of the best young players in his position in the world. His stats back that up.100%. Show me another player 21 or under with better stats than Alli the past 3 seasons? Since he burst on to the scene people have been desperate to pull him down.
He's absolutely class.

Wait, what? Do you do the same for all players lol? Some kid is tearing up the under 18's, 'yeah but compared to lewandowski hes pretty shite'.
Surely you have to compare players based somewhat on their age. You develop your game as you mature as a player.
to which @kouroux said he(Alli) isn't one of the best. The best players are the ones who refuse to accept "their place" in the game.
Really... Just read it simply and it is easy to understand.Wait, what? Do you do the same for all players lol? Some kid is tearing up the under 18's, 'yeah but compared to lewandowski hes pretty shite'.

I should hire you as my representative.

Yeah but it's typical assumption, people jumping to defend their favorites without realizing what was actually said to begin with.
Seriously though, it's not that hard to understand.

Exactly. For some reason Spurs fans have tin foil hat when it comes to Alli. Everyone turn into Glaston when they talk about Alli of Pogba (except 1 guy, I forgot his name).

He was replying to the post which says to which @kouroux said he(Alli) isn't one of the best.
If the OP said he is one of the best young players in the world then there wouldn't have been any arguments against it.

All in all, I never mentioned age once. He isn't one of the best players in the world, when I say that, obviously all ages are considered.Spurs fan, ur having a laugh, Newcastle Jets fan. I watch the PL without any major allegiance, but Id say if I had to pick a team it would be United, although ive probably watched more Burnley games this season than any other team.
As for the thread look at what was stated, look what was quoted, it's not hard.

Well all in all its not really fair to judge young players at the beginning of their careers and such an early stage of development like that. To do what Alli has done in his first 3 seasons of PL football is phenomenal and shall I add, unparalleled . His stats smash the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes at the same stage. Different positions as Alli does play further forward although Lampard and Gerrard did play very advanced at different points in their careers also.
Now noone is saying Alli is the finished product. He has areas of his game to improve. However in and around the box he is absolutely deadly with both assists and finishes. He has the capability to play deeper too. He can do it all really. Its scary to think he is miles away from hitting his peak with the stats he has already .

Alli is a 2nd striker, only Scholes was playing in a similar position at a similar age, the other two started as DM and CMs. In comparison to those three players Alli's game will probably never be as advanced, he can't pass or dribble to a great level, his best qualities are his movement..
Hes definitely not having a bad season, started a little slow. Just comparative to his breakout season it's not as good. In the PL he still has 5 goals and 7 assists which is just below Silva's 5 goals 8 assists and above Ozils 4 goals 7 assists. And people were talking about Silva having a bit of a renaissance season.
Maybe it's because De Bruyne, Mo Salah, Sane and Sterling are posting such big numbers for assists/goals that Alli isnt really being seen as having a successful season. I feel these figures are a little skewed because of how Man C have blown teams away/been so dominant thus inflating the numbers a little.
he is not - he has played that position but very rarely he is primarily a attacking midfielder. If you look at his heat maps they tend to mirror Eriksen's (a little further forwards. He had the one great game in the second striker position against Chelsea and now its convenient to label him a second striker to limit the impact of his performance - you can find his heat maps http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/matchcentre/liverpool-vs-tottenham-hotspur-04022018/ (not only that I watch all our games and the vast majority he is in AMF).Alli is a 2nd striker, only Scholes was playing in a similar position at a similar age, the other two started as DM and CMs. In comparison to those three players Alli's game will probably never be as advanced, he can't pass or dribble to a great level, his best qualities are his movement..

I'd say the same about United fans and Pogba (I rate a lot of United players - SELL US MARTIAL PLZ K THX - but I think Pogba is a useless pain in the ass I wouldn't want within 100km of any team I support). It's definitely part of being a fan
