Dele Alli - Performance Thread 2017/18

I definitely think we should've taken Wilshere. Did at the time and still do. Him in that left sided CM position instead of Alli would've been a big boost.

The best thing that happened to Alli was getting injured in that second game because that then allows people to blame that for the rest of his shite performances, the reality is he is absolutely bang average. I haven’t stopped reading he didn’t look fit but I thought he looked the same as every other time I’ve seen him. I think someone like Shelvy would have brought so much more to that team.

As a Spurs fan, what you see at this tournament is how he plays for Spurs. He looks bang average and seems to do nothing.. yet still pops up with important goals and assists. He is capable of magic around the box.

That said, he really need to stop playing on the periphery of games. He's still young so has an excuse to a degree as he isn't the finished article by a long way, but I have to say most of last season he was bang average too.

As I said though, he is capable of magic around the box and he is a huge goal threat. He just needs to get more involved in influencing games. He has a long way to improve.

He will become a really excellent player imo but he still has a lot of developing to do.

God he's even worse. Thank God Southgate didn't pick him.

It's RLC that really suffered here.
Well, we'll never know but it clearly would have been better to have the option instead of Welbeck or Fabian-Miles Accumulator-Delph.
England played the bracket perfectly but as soon as a good team showed up, everything fell down pretty quick.
A wondergoal from Trippier doesn't change that, Southgate still has a lot of work to do with this group for the next Euros where he won't be able to hide behind Tunisia and Panama.
