Another thought. If he does leave, we'd better make bloody sure we get all of that Bebe money back from Jorge Mendes, the useless tosspot.
Valdes and that Serbian kid to back him up.
Am I being dense, or did he actually play for our youth team ages ago?!Ron Robert Zieler.
Current goalkeeper of Hannover, who still fight to stay in the Bundesliga. (He is conceding a lot goals this season, but that is not his fault.) He was the keeper of the german u16, u17, u18, u19 and u20. He was part of the world cup team 2014. He shouldn' be that expensive after this season and maybe for free if Hannover is going down into the second league.

This. Surely, we didn't tempt Victor to come here by offering him the chance to add Pontins Reserve League (Northern Division) title to his 6 La Ligas, 3 Champions Leagues, etc?We already have his replacement.

Not too sure about how good Valdes is after that big injury. Plus I have never been a big fan of him. Seems to have mistakes in him.Valdes and that Serbian kid to back him up.
I agree it will be valdes as the no1 but the serbian kid (milinkovich? Or something like that) couldn't get a work permit before and would probably struggle this summer given the fa's crackdown.Valdes and that Serbian kid to back him up.
Lvg does like keepers who are comfortable with the ball at their feet and valdes / Lloris seem to fit that billI think it would be Valdes.
If we do target another keeper, I reckon Lloris is more likely than Cech.
Or perhaps he will become the proper no1 there next yearTer stegen has been clear with his discontent with his role at Barca, perhaps he could be an option aswell in a not too distant future.
Let's bring back John O'SheaValdes until Cech's contract expires? I know I've asked this before, but when does Cech's contract expire?

Lloris would probably cost us double what we'd get for De Gea so I really can't see us trying to get him.
I'd probably agree with your statement, though its kinda pathetic of us considering the financial resources we have at our disposal.
This is our man...
It's not really. Why would we pay £40m plus for a keeper who's not as good as our own? Occasionally we're going to pay over the odds for various reasons but it's not wise to keep doing it

Excellent shot stopper, only 22 years of age, has great reflexes, consistently puts in stable performances, and can stay concentrated for 90 mins which is a prerequisite for keepers at top clubs. His biggest and perhaps only weakness from a goalkeeping perspective is distribution but IMO training under Van Gaal and observing Valdes on a weekly basis will help him iron out that flaw. The latest from a conveyor belt of great Italian goalkeepers which also includes others talents like Leali, Scuffet or Bardi, has already been capped for Italy at the international level, has Top 5 keeper in the world potential and won't cost as much as Lloris who is very susceptible to lapses in judgement IMO.
Alternatively, Loris Karius.
He is brilliant on the line, but what about corners/freekicks/crosses. I mean he will struggle with long balls at the beginning, he needs to adapt fast.
