Big few weeks regarding De Gea, if he doesn't sign a new contract we still need to play him IMO, but it means that in January he can sign his pre-agreement with Real like Vidic did with Inter. So that leaves us back at square one.
I'd say that Navas is not an option as I can't see us doing business with Real and it doesn't seem he was all that keen to move anyway, and hopefully the Cillessen noise will die down now.

Who knows what'll happen with DDG now, but if he doesn't re-up, Lloris should be the target. Already plays in England, is young enough for a keeper, has played CL and international football, and is one of very few goalkeepers who are around DDG's level of talent at the moment IMO. I know he'll cost a bomb, but you could have him for the long term.

DDG is way better than Lloris. Not in the same league. What Lloris has is experience. He's a slightly above average keeper but far from elite. I hope we go for someone else.
How much would we have to pay for Lloris, if we imagine Spurs being willing to sell?

Top end of that or more, taking into account Levy tax. Unless his contract was getting short I guess.
Too much..That cnut Levy would love to rip us off..and I dont think Lloris is a top top keeper..but however we have a year to sort this out, and we should be starting with our search now..
Why don't we just monitor Jack Butland... He's getting games now.. See how he does for a season.

Begovic is underrated. He was available and he would have been a much better acquisition than Romero. I do not know why we overlooked Cech, maybe it was because Arsenal had him signed long before the window started and we were still unsure about whether De Gea would have left.
Since De Gea is staying now, it should give us more time to prepare for a potential replacement. If Tottenaham fail to make champion league next season, I can see lloris becoming available next summer. Other than him, I am not in the know towards top keepers.

Begovic and Cech do not fit the philosophy.
As in they aren't great with the ball at their feet, which is why I felt LVG was not interested. Very silly.

Romero who has shown to be like Messi or Pirlo with his footwork, is ideal for Van Gaal philosophy because his distribution is so great.Cech didn't want to leave London and I doubt Romero was signed as first choice. That explain why we weren't after Cech. However, Romero is still a strange one for me despite not being first choice. We could have done better and even promoting Johnstone seems more ideal in my opinion.
He's started the season well. Shown that he is a great shot stopper.. But I can see him improve with more games.
