fecking amateur at dealing with the long ball. Jesus wept we face that every week and deal with it. Absolute shit for brains any time they put an England shirt on
I hear Wayne was to blame for the fighting in Ukraine too - oh, and he hacked phones for the News of the WorldThat's nothing to do with Rooney's absence. Barkley isn't doing anything either, just like Wayne.
Dreadful performance again
I don't see it. All bluster. Only us English would rate him highly.
Still seems like a typical English kick and run footballer
Dull is, as dull does... as Forrest Gump might sayRoy's style doesn't allow for much else.
wilshere gets blown off the ball every time someone farts in the crowdHe's much more than that; his balance and close control is fantastic. He can play it with both feet and reads the very game well for a 20 year old.
If England wanna change their style of play over the next few years, then we're going to have to try and build the team around Wilshere and Barkley. Players like Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard we're never going to be able to control the game as well as Wilshere and Barkley could possibly do so, because they're technique and intelligence wasn't quite good enough.
Barkley and Wilshere on the other hand, are the best midfield talents we've had since Scholes IMO.
It has more to do with Gerrard/ Henderson than Rooney to be honest.
What we learned from 45 minutes:
We don't need Gerrard in this team half as much as we think we do
Sturridge is not a top-class striker. In the Shearer/Owen/Sheringham/Wright era he probably wouldn't have made the plane
Lampard is still a decent player
Barkley could become an immense talent
Incredible how average the english midfield looks yet again, CR bossing it for lagre parts of the half.
Rooney also invaded Poland in 1939Rooney is the problem.
Do you think Lampard will benefit from playing this game and put him in a good place ready for the qualifiers that he won't be involved in?

yes.. and why wasnt he there to pick up the pieces after sturridge went down!!!!!Ignoring his defensive duties again.
Yeah, it's such a shock that a 36 year old who has played hundreds of games looks better than players in their early 20s. What exactly is your point? That we should get rid of the youth and stick with Lampard? All the wanking over these supposed talented "youngsters" yet a 36 year old Lampard is outplaying all of them combined.
Rooney also invaded Poland in 1939
Rooney is the problem.
and he chooses revolting fillings for his Subway sandwichThe difference between Cole and Sturridge is that Cole knew his limitations. Sturridge thinks he's alot better player than he is.
What I can't stand is everyone said England would be crap and inexperienced building for next time, then when exactly that happened the same people lost their shit with the players and demanded the manager be sacked. Bizarre.
Been saying that for ages. I tend to listen when Jose has a gripe with a playerJust me that thinks we would probably still be better off playing Rooney as a 9 than Sturridge then?
I hear Wayne was to blame for the fighting in Ukraine too - oh, and he hacked phones for the News of the World
Compare our "youngsters" performances to Nigeria's, France's, Ghana's or Belgium's.Yeah, it's such a shock that a 36 year old who has played hundreds of games looks better than players in their early 20s. What exactly is your point? That we should get rid of the youth and stick with Lampard?
You do realise you're watching the Italy vs. Uruguay game, right?
