David De Gea

I wonder what Barca fans will feel if they found out that Man United bid 200M pounds for Messi

Are you atletico president because last i checked they are banned from buying players and are willing only to sell due to the clause.
Always a poor retort.

If you think he will go for that price, all the best.

hope it happened like this

ed - ''jose we have had a £60m offer for dave from real''

jose -''you tell them they forgot to add kroos in the offer''

Then he won't be leaving unless he forces a move. We don't have that luxury with De Gea - 60m for me is more than fair.

We do have that luxury with de gea, He's very happy here, he is the highest paid goal keeper in the world and the club buying arent willing to match his wages. He has a contract and we dont need to sell for the money.

More than fair. Yeah we should just ask Madrid what's fair , maybe ask a lower offer so to be fair to them. Don't understand that luxury part. We should sell if he wants to leave. We don't know if he wants to. If he wanted to 2 years ago it doesn't mean he wants it now.

Because it's a massive amount of money for a goalkeeper. No goalkeeper is worth that.

People asking for 80 are absolutely insane.
Ederson who has not even played at international level yet is going to City for £33M. De Gea is arguably the best goalkeeper in the world and has been our most important player now for nearly four seasons. He's worth every penny of £60M maybe even more. The market has changed goalkeepers go for a lot more these days and we're in no position to sell him. He's happy here.

Last summer, only the paperwork was messed about on deadline day so it ended up too late to register him. De Gea was fuming they left it so late so he signed a new contract with us.
No, De Gea signed a new contract with you at the time because if he didn't he would have lost the upcoming Euros. He leveraged his contract situation to force you to sell him. When did fell through, you leveraged the Euros to force him to sign a new contract.

But that was 2 years ago. Sure doesn't seem like he wants to leave right now

And it's all bs anyways. There's only one scenario that would make a De Gea to Madrid deal likely or even possible, and it's one that's not likely to happen(i.e. we outplay juve but lose the game like 3-2 because keylor has the worst game of his career)

People said the same when we received record deal for Ronaldo. Look how that turned out for Madrid bargain

£60 million for a goalkeeper is absolutely insane - £40 million at most for the very best imo in the current market. Mind you, if you do sell him and manage to extort £60 million from Madrid then you will be laughing.

So say we sell ddg for 60mn what then who replaces him, as far as i know there are only 3 players available who are nearly as good as ddg or atleast will be as good. Neuer, oblak and courtouis and none are going to be available for 60mn. Even getting donarumma for 60mn will be difficult in todays market.

The worst part it is utd fans saying ddg isn't worth it, people want us to pay 50mn each which is apparently cheap in today's market for morata and james when neither player is in top 10 players of the world. Morata isn't even in top 10 strikers of the world but 60mn is big money for the world's best keeper.

£40m haha

I'm wanting £60m+ if he goes. At worst he's the second best goalkeeper in the game, who's going to offer around 12 years of service in his prime years. And you think £40m is about right?!

How much would you want Spurs to sell Lloris for?

In few years madrid will be, just like when we sold ronaldo. De gea's is worth more than that, simple

if thats an opening offer and we can get more i'd be tempted to take it......

but means who ever we buy as a replacment would be very expensive

Paying even five million pounds to acquire the services of a man who will come and kick balls around on your lawn, is crazy, but this is the world we live in.

We agreed a deal worth £41m in 2015 when De Gea had a year left on his contract. I expect we'd be looking at £60-70m this time.

Would be telling Madrid £75m if they want him and tell them a deadline, if they dont go for it we keep him, or if Jose wants Morata then £25m plus Morata.

No it doesn't depend at all in that situation. You're talking crap.

Really? We let go hernandez for 7 m and michael keane for 2 m . Now they are 25 and 30 plus m respectively after 3 years. There are enormous examples of that.

I think the story from Sky is a load of bollocks. We should close this thread. We're just driving ourselves into a frenzy for something that probably hasn't happened.

Not another summer of this again! I wish DDG would just come out and say whether he wants to leave or stay and just let us get on with it. Donnarumma is potentially available and if there's a chance of DDG going in the next couple of years we should pounce now. Would be really pissed off if we ended up selling DDG late in the window when Donnarumma has already signed a new contract or moved to another club.

I'd say about £30 million

Really?!

He'll only be 31 in December and he's a far superior GK to this guy City are about to sign (admittedly I haven't seen much of him, but I'm always a bit suspicious of Brazilian GKs).

Yeah really. Goalkeepers do not go for nearly as much as outfield players - that's just how it is. We signed him for about £12 million I think.

 @ The £30m valuation.

Meanwhile, Ederson who has about 2/3 seasons of first team football playing at a massively inferior level is moving for £35m. Makes sense.

For all the talk of £45m, City has apparently bought him for £35m. I stand by what I said last night, £50m would be a fair price for De Gea if he wants to leave. If not, he's not going anywhere regardless of the price.

And deal with summers of juve trying to sign him and he being home sick / gf preferring to stay in Italy etc

You should look at the market around. Even defenders who has not hit the top class level were not quoted as much as attacking players before but here you have john stones going for 50 m pounds when he does not make goals or create goals and has not taken his game on the level to stop goals very effectively.

Times have changed. The player who has taken his game to a world class level to the worlds's second best is actually worth the price.

Does not matter in this market. The market does not pay for the player attributes and quality anyway now , Its all about the financial package.

Of course it matters, you can't compare transfer fees of outfield players to goalkeepers unless you are happy to ignore everything that has occurred in the last 100 years of football.

35 m for inexprienced keeper who is not in national team, who is epl inexperienced and does not have a huge marketing potential.

Wow 60 million for a goalkeeper is insane I dont think they'll actually pay that much and Sky is really off.
