David De Gea

Because £75m for a keeper is a crazy amount of money? I love DDG and hope he stays but seeing posts like 'feck em we don't need the money' isn't true, no club in the world could just turn their nose up at £75m.

Like i said earlier, we dont 'need' the money, we have funds to spend but our budgets aren't infinite at some point we will have to stop the £100M+ summer spending spree's every year.

75 million would not change much for us.

All im saying is the budgets aren't infinite like some people seem to think. It seems easy to reject moeny now while were spending 150m every summer but that will stop at some point, it has too.
That doesn't mean we should sell Dave.
At all.

These guys are not United fans and I will continue to maintain that opinion. People like JJ12 are all over twitter with their Keane or Cantona avi wondering why the club rejected 60M pounds.

No need to cry pal. You rate a goal keepers that wants to leave far more than me, it's okay.

Our fans are very strange and am beginning to question if these accounts on twitter are actually United fans. After the skysports report of 60M bid rejected. One said, he will still leave for much less. It's like some fans are so eager to sell him to Madrid. I'm confused.

If you challenge their comments, they will say, I want him to leave so we can move on. Like wtf? Move on to where? Watching Madrid dominate for years to come? I don't get it at all.
Some of our fans are crazy.

It does when we can't replace him for the money they are paying. £75mill wouldnt even buy us Oblak who isn't even on De Gea's level.
All I'm saying we shouldn't sell him period. Or maybe for 100 million, take it or leave it.

He wants to leave? You know something we don't?
Pretty obvious after the year of the fax. I believe he wanted to leave then and I don't see why he'd not want to go if they came in again.

It's pretty obvious.. based on what, something he said , something he's done, something third?

How is it obvious? Ronaldo was obvious, this guy have never said a single word about it. What about the numerous reports about him wanting to stay now that we play UCL football? You completely ignore them?

Mourinho isn't someone who sells a player who is happy at the club and nailed on in the starting XI.

If De Gea wants to stay and is happy here we dont sell him no matter the offer but if he wants to go they pay what WE decide not what they want to pay.

United have rolled over for the last few years in selling players get practically nothing for our players, enough is enough teams rinse us, time we did the same.

Agreed.

Seems like the offer never happened after all, which is a relief. I'd hate to see him leave, I don't even see the point in accepting a lot of money for him anyway, it's not like we need it and we can't get someone better. Don't sell unless he's really pushing to leave, and I don't see that happening.

He did? Remind me when did that happen?
Last summer, only the paperwork was messed about on deadline day so it ended up too late to register him. De Gea was fuming they left it so late so he signed a new contract with us.

A bit of info for JJ12 and friends. In case you guys don't know, Manchester United is not a selling club, meaning, we don't sell to raise cash, our academy is not for raising cash. We only sell players that are surplus to requirement or players that wants to leave. If one of our best players decides to leave, we do our best to change his mind, if all that fails, then we sell at the best possible deal.

There is one time only this club claim sold a player because the offer was good. That was Jaap Stam and many still believe till today that is not true, we believe Stam was sold for other reason(s).

It's all good but if he wants to stay we shouldn't sell him. I don't believe he was fuming tho.

Thats what I remember of it, it wasnt last summer i was wrong it was back in the summer of 2015 under LvG.

Thanks for the history lesson but you forgot Ronaldo.

Not once have I suggested we are a selling club. 60m for a goalkeeper is ridiculous for a goalkeeper who only 2 years ago nearly signed for them for far less.

Because it's a massive amount of money for a goalkeeper. No goalkeeper is worth that.

People asking for 80 are absolutely insane.

He is worth that, Have a look at the prices around for people with lower quality, Its just a new norm in this market which is Changing every year.

Thanks for the history lesson but you forgot Ronaldo.

And madrid would have easily gone beyond 100 m plus for him if we demanded. Did you forget how bale was 100 m when he's no where near as good?

Ronaldo would fall under player who wanted to leave.
But De gea doesn't? Even though he signed a deal to join them in recent years.

What are you even on about? Bale was four years later and with inflation and the Euro/Pound valuation in both periods he was cheaper.

£80m in 2009 was staggering money.

There was a good few years between the 2 signings. Market had inflated between the 2.

Ronaldo would have gone for far more had he left the same year as Bale.

Sky "sources"? Hmm. I think I'll wait for indykaila to confirm this.

What's your point?

All Spanish players have release clauses.
His point i think is atletico won't let him go for lower than clause, if oblak goes for 85mn surely ddg has to go for a lot higher amount. Only idiots will sell a world class player for 60mn when the player who could replace him but is not as good will cost 85mn.

He will not go for 85m

Sky sources ffs

They're becoming embarrassing, so many reputable sources have come out and said nothing has been received I'm glad they're being called out on their bullshit.

Some of the stuff they post is no different to IndyKalia, sounds ridiculous but unless it's actually a confirmed story I wouldn't be against placing "Sky sources" on the blacklist - they're that bad and are only getting worse.

SO that becomes his price, when atletico dont want to sell and dont want the player to leave.
Then he won't be leaving unless he forces a move. We don't have that luxury with De Gea - 60m for me is more than fair.
