David De Gea

What?

I'm pretty sure he has like 3 years on his contract, why would we be forced into taking a low fee
Because Mourinho is no fool and it's a very bad idea to keep an unhappy player at the club who wants to be elsewhere. Of course you won't let him go for a "low" fee, but it won't be £60m, rather between £45m-£50m I'd guess.

Just my opinion of course, I could be wrong obviously.

No chance when you look at how much City are paying for Ederson. £60m will be the least we'd expect.

Who did report it? someone leaked this just few days before UCL final ? Sound BS to me

You really are talking rubbish. Plenty of examples of 'unhappy' players staying and performing very well the following season, not least De Gea who wanted to leave 2 seasons ago and then went on to make the team of the season in the league.

There is no way on earth Jose or Ed would let madrid screw us over and publicly humiliate the club by letting the best keeper in the world go for such a miserly fee. Not a chance in hell.

Sky have actually used the Sun as their exclusive source, bloody hell. I'll pay no attention to their "sources" from now on, absolute rubbish.

Apparently Sky couldn't escape with their BS news this time. Ducker and Stones made them look really embarrassing.

How did that work out when you were selling Suarez?
How is that relevant here? Strikers go for higher fees than goalkeepers.

Like I said, I could be wrong :) Just my gut feeling.

Fecking hell I'm just saying what I think will happen if he really wants to leave, that's all

You think we'd sell DDG for between £45m-£50m? You're usually very level-headed, surely you can't believe that? It'd take a colossal fee to get us to sell DDG whether he wants the move or not.

£45m :wenger:

Clearly Real trying to unsettle the player but have they not seen how happy the big man is?? Money isnt an issue for us we dont need it so they'll just have to wait till he wants to go back to spain its that simple and with him playing for Althetico i hope he never goes to Real would say alot about the fella if he did imo.

It is relevant because you sold for a fair price. There is noway we sell for the figures you mentioned if DDG wanted out. He is still world class, like Suarez, and any buyers would need to pay the price we value him at.

Sky Sources have neve very had less credibility. Waste of time.

Hold on a sec....

Sky and the Sun??? Really?

Sky: a player says he is 6/10 to come to united and the following day he says he is now ready to leave Atletico. The player himself not some reports. Its not on the news it is on the website and to be honest not given a lot of hype. The next few days are full of the stories of how this one or that one say he is not coming or not for sale. SSN sources or Atleti staff. Whole lot more interest in publishing these stories than the ones they failed to break themselves.

Last night United say they are confident of keeping DDG and today SSN are saying we reject 60 mill. Oh and the sun too, do not forget them, you'd nearly think they are the same company or something to be sure of the same story. Nothing from either club or player or even more surprising. Not the agent drumming up a higher fee.

I smell a rat. As of yet!

Unless i get some solid clarification, i call fake news.

Think thread title needs a change. BBC confirming no bid. Also reaffirming how shite Sky Sports are. Not to be trusted again.

"Publicly humiliate" United by paying almost €10m more than anyone has ever paid for a goalkeeper? Not sure how that would work...

For me, £50m for a goalkeeper is a colossal fee... And I'm of the opinion that if De Gea doesn't make it clear that he wants to leave United, you won't sell him at any price. Why would you, £100m more on your bank account doesn't make that much of a difference to United and you can't buy a replacement close to his level with that money. Of course if City buys Ederson for £45m this week or next, United will take notice and it could very well be £60m, I'll admit that much.

Why would Real Madrid bid just before an important final when there's no other club beyond their own that could prise De Gea away from us?

Its not colossal when other kids are quoted money just below this money. Oblak would be available for 45 -50 m? who's still not de gea level or donnarumma price would be below ederson?

Nights like this is why I fecking hate the close season, I'm already missing the football

 You had me till CL rival.

Seriously though, 60m pounds is a monumental fee for a goalkeeper.

Fairly sure Bayern would laugh at 60m for Neuer and reject it straight away.

I would imagine Chelsea would do the same.

You probably can't even buy Oblak at 60m either.

60m is a lot for a goalkeeper but it's not enough for one of the best in the world.

Neuer, Courtois and Oblak are happy at their club and don't want to move elsewhere so yes, such bids would be rejected straight away. Same as United would reject a £60m bid for De Gea if he's happy there and wants to stay.

If he wants to go, however, £60m is a very, very good offer from Real that you probably won't refuse.

The point is how much will you have to spend to buy the similar or a level below in the market with significant inexperience and inferior technique. not very less than 60 m. And there are marketing reasons to consider for a spain no 1 with the world cup looming.
